Musings on Awakening

i had a very interesting day yesterday waking up with a heavy heart. I stayed with that feeling, i held it tenderly, i didn’t run from it or avoided it, i stayed with it. I didn’t observe it, I felt the hurt and the fear and the heaviness in the world and in my own being for as long as it took to change, naturally.

Then it lifted like a fog slowly, slowly as I went about my day. Then I had two epiphanies, which i know were a direct result of being truly with my feelings fully, that is what created the shift. 

I called an old friend who is living north of San Francisco to see if she and her husband were alright. We had a long hour conversation touching on these subjects. She is a very practiced Buddhist and mindfulness meditator, a Gardner, jeweller, and a beautiful grounded humble loving beautiful compassionate soul. It was wonderful.

So my advice to you is this; no matter what the planets are doing as they are always doing something influential. The key is to stay in touch directly with whatever comes up, depression, angst, paranoia, fear, dread, longing, cynicism until it shifts. This is what sparks the beginning of the Awakening.

You are not all of these emotions you feel they are yours and you can embody them and experience them but they are never all that you truly are. That is why establishing the witness, mindfulness state is so important but it’s not to negate our feelings which is a negation of the Divine Feminine. 

The card of the Day is #20 in the Muse Tarot Called AWAKENING usually called Judgement from Judgement day in the Book of Revelations. The card is called The AEON or New Age in the Thoth deck. We are in a double Awakening year. 

2020 remember Hindsight is 2020. 

Many people are awakening but there is so much to awaken to. Just like A.A. Awakening Anonymous must admit that they’ve been asleep for most of their lives. As a person who came in awake, its a hard struggle to stay awake as everything is designed to put you to sleep and keep you somnambulistic. Wake up now because its 2020. Keep waking up. There is so much more to see. This is not the same as being “WOKE.” It is a sincere deep effort on your own to find your true self. It takes time and effort. This is a waking dream out souls are having. We have our personal dreams, the Collective Dream and your Sacred Dream. You have to wake up to all of those too. 

So Muse on this and let me know how you feel about it. I wish I hear from more of you otherwise I feel i am shouting into the void,

The origins of the Tarot.

The great Swiss psychologist Carl Jung coined the term synchronicity and he used the Tarot in his psychological research. He also used Astrology and the I Ching as part of his defining what Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious are

Jung said in a short piece reveal the depth of insights that the tarot can bring. I first started reading about Jung in my first-year university way back in the ’70s/ Man and His Symbols. 

This article may not be factually correct though. Tarot cards were first designed as playing cards as a parlour game for the wealthy Italian families in the Renaissance.

It was only much later that Tarot cards became entwined with divination because of one man, Court de Gebelin in a vast treatise he channelled is the best way I can describe it.

I just had a fabulous time at the 2nd annual Love & Light tarot International Conference in Montreal September 20-22 and there will be another one next year which I will present at and attend. I got to present along with the Queen’s of the Tarot world Mary Greer and Rachel Pollack and my other amazing friend and Tarot counsellor Katerina Wynne.   

Goddess of the Flame Brigid

February 1/2 is the Pagan celebration of Imbolc  St. Brigid’s Day Candlemas Groundhog Day. It’s a Cross-quarter day of the Wheel of the Year signifying that we are half way to Spring in the Northern Hemisphere- Spring is coming.

The Fiery Goddess Awakens 

On a secular level Bill Murray’s famous comedy is a spiritual teaching metaphor which gained wide appeal and is considered a classic fable/comedy 20 years after its initial release.  Bill Murray plays a cynical newscaster who keeps waking up on Groundhog Day living a deja vu, being stuck in time and immortal. Eventually, he figures out that being kind and nice and improving himself is the best thing to do. He learns to care and love and wins the love of his colleague and is free to move on from being stuck in his karmic lessons and live his life.  

Feb. 1st –2nd Traditional Irish and Pagan Holiday Celebrations

Saint Brigid’s Day,or Bride’s Day, is both a Catholic and Pagan Celebration of an ancient Goddess tradition. Christians overlaid the Ancient Goddess holiday renaming it Candlemas or the fest of the Purification of the Virgin

In the Tarot Brigid would be the Queen of Wands or The Woman on the Strength card.

Triple Goddess/Saint Brigid/Bride

According to scholar Robert Graves, Brigid is the most Ancient Triple Goddess worshipped since time out of mind. The Goddess rules scholars and poets.  She is said to rule over people who work with cows and chickens, brewers, fugitives, midwives, infants, printers, sailors, travelers, New Zealand, & Irish nuns.

This day symbolizes a time of transitions, initiations, new beginnings, of planting seeds that will sprout later. Brigid/Birgita represents the light half of the year,and new growth.

Goddess of Augury, prophets and seers. Celtic seers divined by looking into deep water and into flames. This is a great time to do divination with either.Elements- Water and fireBrigid rules the Waters and wells. Many healing springs are dedicated to Brigid. Natural bodies of water also signify Her presence, particularly where three streams joined together. Good time to take a special healing water bath or shower in Brigid’s honor.

She is the Goddess of fire and inspirations, poetry, creativity, smithcraft and healing. It is customary to make candles for the coming year and bless them on this day.

Protecting Goddess

In her aspect as Brigantia, she carries a flaming spear, an orb of victory, and wears a war crown. She symbolizes protection of the country from invaders and slavery. The name “Britain” is derived from Brigit’s name. Britain’s symbol, the Goddess Brigantia, is still found on their 50 cent coin is Brigid.

Midwives

As Patroness of Midwives, she was invoked at the door of the home where the woman was giving birth, by the midwife. Brigid guards every newborn, their cradles protected with a woven Brigit’s Cross, an equal-armed cross.

Brigid Ruler of the Hearth

Especially in Gaelic Scotland, Brigid’s dolls are placed near the hearth on her Feast Day. The doll is usually dressed in white, decorated. A white wand is placed in her bed as a fertility charm. As she is patroness of agriculture, pastures, livestock, and abundance. An offering is made to her of dairy products. The Brigid doll is kept throughout the year near the hearth hung on a wall, or by a door, as a talisman of protection, then burnt the next year.

Trickster Black Friday

November 23 the GEMINI Full Moon occurs in EDT and GMT
