Equinox Super Moon March 20/21 2019

The last time the Full Moon and the spring equinox coincided this closely (4 hours apart) was March 20, 2000, @ 29 degrees Virgo but the last time they occurred on the same date was on March 20, 1981, also at 29 Virgo.

Spring Equinox rituals for transformation

The Vernal Equinox is one of the most powerful days of the year as the balance of Day and Night and the beginning of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere is celebrated. Celebrated as OSTARA by Algo-Saxon and Germanic tribes as a celebration of the First day of spring.  The Green Man who fertilizes the Goddess is resurrected and the symbols which are associate with Easter, rabbits, and eggs are basic symbols of fertility. An American Witch and poet named Aiden Kelly who was looking for sabbat names more interesting than Spring Equinox ended up adopting Ostara for the Vernal {spring} Equinox and we’ve been using it for over 40 years now. 

This is a powerful day for Ritual and Ceremony to release old energies and transform them.  We are aligning ourselves with the relationship of the Sun to the earth. This 1st ritual uses FIRE as this is ARIES a Fire sign

In the Tarot ARIES energy is the Symbol of The EMPEROR # 4

Ritual items” a black and a white candle, a yellow or green candle. Smudge and incense. Essential oils of jasmine or rose flowers. Paper and a black marking pen and a gold one. A lighter or matches, a fire-proof container, seeds a container and some water.

Split the paper in two and with the black pen right “Be Gone” on 1 half. Write all the things, situations, feelings and habits that you desire to let go of and to transform. Take your time. Place this negative list under the black candle. 

 Then as you leave the sacred circle with spirits and elements you have called in you must say ” All my ancestors.” before you can leave the circle otherwise you dismiss all of them in a very crude dishonouring way. Never leave a sacred circle without acknowledging the spirits which you have summoned. Then take a shower or bath to cleanse yourself.  Visualize the water washing away any heavy negativity and feel that your aura and spirit becoming clean and new.  Get dressed in clean clothes and anoint yourself with the essential oils or you can also do this ritual naked or “skyclad” as most witches do. 

Go back to your sacred circle and as you enter you say “All my ancestors.” as a sign of respect.  Take the second sheet of paper and write rebirth on it in gold ink. Write down all of the positive goals, affirmations, positive changes you wish you to grow and have.  Affirm that you have all of these now. Never say ” I want, i desire, i should, I would, I hope, or I wish” these statements banish what you are trying to create. Feel how you feel when you would have all of these things. It’s important to bring emotion into your projected desires.  Take your time. When your accomplishment list is completed put the gold-inked list under the white candle.  Light the black and white candle and incense. 

You will burn the negative list in the black candles flame and throw it in a fireproof container.  and use its flame to set it afire and throw it in the ashpot, etc. As you do this say:

”  Let go of this negative energy and I transform this negative energy into positive energy, by the Light of the candle and of the increasing Sun. So may the dark be transformed into the Light. So mote it be. So it is.” 

Then after this take the positive list and you will light it with the white candle as an ignition of fire. State out loud “I have the love of my Beloved for which I am grateful, I am blessed, healthy, healed, whole, joyous, abundant.” Or whatever is on your list.  Set this lit alight with the white candle and use it to light the third green or yellow candle. Take the ashes of the positive list and put then in a shell or fireproof container. 

The third green or yellow candle is now lit.  You will take the seeds and pot of soil and plant the seeds in the soul while saying out loud.

” On this day of balance between the Masculine Sun and the Feminine Earth may all beings be balanced, whole, happy and joyous. I celebrate the Sacred Marriage of the God and Goddess of the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine today and all days. May we celebrate equality, peace, respect, and love amongst all peoples and within ourselves. As above, so below and so within.

“I plant the seeds of new positive growth in the fertile soil of Mother Earth. As life returns to earth I am also reborn anew, in the Light. As Persephone is reunited with her Mother Ceres/Demeter again, all beings, creatures, rivers, and situations, all that has been out of balance is whole and balanced again upon this Vernal Equinox. “

You can sit and meditate then take your ashes outside and bury them in the earth where they will fertilize new growth.

29 degrees Pisces, pagan year ends today

March 19 The Sun is at the 29th, most critical, and the last degree of the ZODIAC today in Pisces in Tropical astrology. According to PAGAN or natural law, today is the last day of the year. Spring Equinox begins as the Sun sits on the equator and day and night are equal everywhere in the world. Spring begins in the Northern Hemisphere, Autumn begins South of the Equator.

This is the ancient natural cycle of life attuned to the Sun and the earth and this is the one I follow.  I am excited. I have seen my first robin and my irises are starting to poke through the ground here.  When I went out into my backyard today I heard a crow cawing loudly and a blue jay.

It would be wise to look back at what the last year has brought you. 29 degrees PISCES is the most karmic degree in the Zodiac. I was told that spiritually this is the degree where all of your planets need to progress to and then you can become a Boddhisatva if you have worked out all of your karma and turned it into dharma and leave the wheel of incarnation behind.

March 19 GRAND FIRE TRINE LEO MOON trines SATURN in SAGITTARIUS

Things are also doubly inconjunct between the proud Mary Leo moon and Pluto Lord of the underworld.  You know the old saying, don’t let pride come before the fall. 

The drama loving Leo Moon is inconjunct /quincunx {150 degrees } to Chiron, the Lord of Pain and wounds and also where the greatest healing and vulnerability are and the SOUTH  NODE, both at 21+ degrees PISCES.

This aspect is really throbbingly painful now. The collective Unconscious soul wounds of the past, as symbolized by the South node, is a deep karmic scar in the psyche. The  symbol of martyrdom and sacrificial wounding from the Age of Pisces, is hurting terribly. This has so much to do with the rejection of, and the return of the Divine Feminine.

PISCES is ultimately the COSMIC WOMB from which all life on earth and symbolically emanated. Release the past, Spring forwards with love

Just recollecting on the cleansing and purifying Tsunami of water energy from the planets March 17 which washes away a glut of ancient emotional baggage on a personal and collective level today. Yes it is also the wearing of the green in Ireland. A very lucky heart chakra centered day.
The Cancer Moon is very active in the Cardinal Crosses.
Mercury conjuncts CHIRON in PISCES 
Cry me a river, an ocean..The aspect is exact March 17 but lingers.

The Moon trines Chiron and MERCURY the SUN and the SOUTH NODE in PISCES.

Old emotional baggage has been surfacing so that we can see it and is now being released and washed away. We can be baptized in the prime source of ONeness energy as brand new beings. This is extremely liberating.
Definitely do water pujas and rituals to literally “wash that man right outta my hair” plus all the old karmic baggage we’ve had attached to us through this and every other lifetime. Drink tons of water to mirror the “as above, so below.”

Spring Equinox, Ostara, Happy Autumn down under.

Happy Spring and Happy Autumn to my friends South of the equator. 

HAPPY OSTARA the pagan celebration of EQUINOX. 

The SUN begins a new journey. We are half way to Summer and 9 months till winter again. 

The GODDESS gives growth and fertility to the land, and SHE becomes Maiden once again.  The God {the SUN} begins to grow to maturity becoming the Goddess’ lover at Beltane. The LIGHT is ascending.

In Greek Myths Persephone return to the Upper world to join her mother DEMETER after being HADES/PLUTO’S wife since Autumn. 

Lets look at the Astrology chart for Spring/Autumn’s arrival at 6:45 pm EDT/ 10:45 pm GMT/March 21 @ 9:45 am Melbourne Australia.

The chart has all the emphasis in the 6th and 7th houses.  Work, service, health, food, it is VIRGO traditionally. The 7th house is the house of marriage  and all relationships with “others.” It is naturally LIBRA which are the essence of the next 3 months.

There are 4 planets and the SOUTH NODE in Cardinal fire of ARIES, with MARS in his power in that sign. He rules the Spring season. War, anger, defenses, attacks, explosions, danger of volcanic explosions and wild raw, ruthless, impulsive masculine energy being unleashed. The South Node indicates the past where we have been, what we need to leave behind. MARS is conjunct ERIS the newly discovered dwarf planet of DISCORD And STRIFE.  We see this coming from war mongering Russia and Israel, the Isalmic State among others. 

There are 3 planets in mutable water element of Pisces. NEPTUNE ruler of Pisces, Chiron and Mercury are tight. The humble spiritual work is going on below the surface, in the unconscious, in tiny acts of kindness. By being vulnerable we find our true strength. Neptune rules oil, it’s being squared by Saturn Retrograde. The price will stay down for months on end. They will stay in square to each other well into 2016.

Saturn in the 3rd house of communications is exactly inconjunct VENUS- exact on March 21, this means strife in the economy, shrinking of foreign imports/exports. Money-=Venus,  has reached a cap, Markets will go down, financial troubles.

PLUTO is in the 4th house of the self, your home. Your personal roots, your place of emotional sustenance and nurturing / homeland security. PLUTO’s lower level expression is the control of the elite, the Plutocracy. Pluto is the financial and banking system.  Pluto is of course still in square with URANUS. Something’s gotta give here or at least crack. “Home wrecker” is one way to put it.

Pluto is inconjunct to JUPITER in LEO and forms a FINGER OF GOD Aspect with Chiron and Neptune to Jupiter.Yah gotta watch those admonishions. 

Jupiter in Leo is like the child who says the “EMPEROR ISN’T WEARING ANY CLOTHES.

” We need that to happen now. All of us “children” need to see what is really going on and speak out with that innocence from the place where we feel wounded by the Plutocracy.

My intuition told me to check out where TransPluto or ISIS is in the chart. TransPluto was the famed planet X,a hypothetical planet. With the misnomer ISIS for the Islamic State taking the name of the Great ancient Egyptian Goddess in vain i felt I needed to see how it fits in. 

Since July 4 2014 {BST}  ISIS/TransPluto  entered the sign of VIRGO theonly sign with a Goddess symbol and will remain there until July of 2,107. Robert Wilkinson has written about Transpluto as the DIVINE MOTHER Energies.  

The Fixed star REGULUS which was in Leo for two thousand years- sign of masculine ROYALTY, the LION, etc. moved into VIRGO as well late in 2011. REGULUS is the only star on the ecliptic.  Also known as Archangel Raphael his emerald-green ray heals the heart. REGULUS should now properly be called the Hearth of the QUEEN of the earth. 

Yes the QUEEN of the Harvest will rule the roost serving humbly for the next two thousand years. Regulus remains at zero degrees Virgo for the next 68 years or so. Along with ISIS/Transpluto. 

The SPRING EQUINOX ARIES ZERO POINT is inconjunct to ISIS and REGULUS.

The war against the Goddess has to be fought with fire.

What does that mean?

It means those evil Islamic terrorists misogynist psycho’s are totally out of synch with the emerging Goddess energies. There is a new beginning and a new cycle in honoring the Feminine and the earth. People need to see that it is not a “religious” war at all. It is a war about controlling women. It cannot and will not be tolerated in any name, form, guise or excuse. 

The gOddess also had her warrioress aspects Ancient Queens were warrior Goddesses. ATHENS Greece was built to honor one, the Goddess ATHENA. Interesting that Greece may depart the EU. The Goddess of war is taking her strategies back into herself. She would never be dominated by anyone. 

THE NORTH NODE is in LIBRA in the 1st house. This is where we need to go. Co-operation, karmic balance, peace, relationships, beauty, art, as primary resources. 

Plant seeds today. water and nurture them daily. Look ahead to the bloom of life.

St. Brigid’s Day THE QUICKENING Candlemas Imbolc Groundhog Day

Feb. 1st –2nd Traditional Irish and Pagan Holiday Celebrations

Feb. 1st is the beginning of the FIRST FIRE of the SUN’s return, the spark, the First sign of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere. This Ancient pagan, Celtic ,Wiccan, celebration is also called The QUICKENING.

Known as Saint Brigid’s Day, Birghita or Bride’s Day, it’s both a Catholic and Pagan Celebration of an ancient Goddess tradition. Imbolc is still celebrated by Wiccans/Pagan based Earth honouring religions. Christians overlaid the Ancient Goddess worshipers’ holiday renaming it Candlemas or the fest of the Purification of the Virgin on Feb 2.

This celebration is the midpoint between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. It is a “cross-quarter” day in the 8 rounds of the Wheel of Time in the Solar based year. The Celtic Year was based on both lunar and solar cycles, it is most likely the holiday would be celebrated on the Full Moon nearest those 2 midpoints, when early spring flowers would begin to rise up through the snow, and snakes would come out of the ground.
In non secular terms it become GROUDHOG DAY on Feb 2. Snakes are always sacred Goddess symbols.

SACRED

That Ancient peoples of Ireland kept this day as very sacred. At the Megalithic and Neolithic sites, such as the Loughcrew burial mounds and the Mound of the Hostages in Tara, Ireland, the inner chambers of the passage tombs are perfectly aligned with the rising sun of both Imbolc and Samhain attesting to the value placed on this day.

Triple Goddess/Saint Brigid/Bride

She is according to Robert Graves, the most Ancient Triple Goddess worshipped since time out of mind. The Goddess rules over scholars and poets. She is the Goddess of fire and inspirations in Ireland, the Goddess of poetry, creativity, smithcraft and healing. She also rules healing with water, and divination. She is said to rule over people who work with cows and chickens, brewers, fugitives, midwives, infants, printers, sailors, travelers, New Zealand, & Irish nuns. This day symbolizes a time of transitions, initiations, new beginnings, of planting seeds that will sprout later. Brigid/Birgita represents the light half of the year, Her power brings the people out of the dark season of winter into spring, so, it is a very important time of the year.

The Goddess Brigid and Saint Brigid are the same being in two forms, peace makers and bridges. The matronly Goddess Brigid bridged the two warring races of gods of the ancient Tuatha de Danann with her sacred marriage, and Saint Brigid was the bridge between the Druids and the Christians. Brigid was the daughter of a Druid Chieftain and the first woman bishop of Ireland. The nuns of Kildare carry on the sacred work.

Originally the return of the Light was celebrated  as Sacred Sexual customs, sacred Tantric Kundalini rising.

She is the Goddess of Augury PROPHETS

In the Druidic tradition, poetry and augury were associated. She is patron of prophets and seers.

Celtic seers divined by looking into deep water and into flames. This is a great time to do divination.

Triple Goddess

She has two sisters with the same name. One aspect of her carries a blacksmith tongs and a sword, because she is also patroness of war; another aspect holds 2 healing snakes, from which the modern Doctor’s symbol is derived, the caduceus, the third aspect carries a wand with a crescent moon and a tablet.

Elements

Brigid rules the Waters. Many healing springs are dedicated to Brigid. Natural bodies of water also signify Her presence, particularly where three streams joined together. She also rules Fire, so it is customary to make candles for the coming year and bless them on this day.

Protecting Goddess

In her aspect as Brigantia, she carries a spear, an orb of victory, and wears a war crown. She symbolizes protection of the country from invaders and slavery.

Midwives

As Patroness of MIDWIVES, she was invoked at the door of the home where the woman was giving birth, by the midwife. Who speke:

“Bride, Bride, come in! Thy welcome is truly made, Give thou relief to the woman, And give thou the conception to the Trinity.”

Brigid is the guardian of every newborn, their cradles protected with a woven Brigit’s Cross, an equal armed cross. Upon a safe delivery, the infant was blessed or “sained” by the midwife, with 3 drops of water on the child’s forehead, dedicating the Child to the Triple Goddess. The “Holy Trinity” in its modernized Christian aspect, was just an overlay of the Goddess Triple Aspect since time out of memory. A candle was carried ‘round the bed sun wise three times. As Brigid is a Solar Goddess. We think of the Sun as masculine but originally all aspects of the Universe were considered Feminine.

Brigid Ruler of the Hearth

Especially in Gaelic Scotland, Brigid’s dolls are placed near the hearth on her Feast Day. The doll is usually dressed in white, decorated. A white wand is placed in her bed as a fertility charm. As she is patroness of agriculture, pastures, livestock, and abundance. An offering is made to her of dairy products. The Brigid doll is kept throughout the year near the hearth hung on a wall, or by a door, as a talisman of protection, then burnt the next year.

Light a Candle and Invoke the Goddess at this time-

I kindle this candle in the name of Brighid, Goddess of Smiths,

I sain this house in the name of Brighid, Goddess of Healers,

I smoor this candle in the name of Brighid, Goddess of Poets.

One folk tradition still continues in both Christian and Pagan homes on St. Brigid’s Day is that of St. Brigid’s Bed. Girls and young unmarried women create corn dollies to represent Brigid, these are adorned with ribbons, baubles shells or stones. A bed is made for the doll to lie in. On St. Brigid’s Eve Jan 31, the girls gather together in one house and stay up all night with the doll, are are later visited by all the young men, who ask permission to enter the home, and then treat the young maidens and the dolly with respect. The next day the girls carry the doll through the neighbourhood from house to house, where she is welcomed with great honour. Adult women stay home to welcome the Brigid procession and offer snacks and coins to the young girls and maidens.

Brigid is said to walk the earth on Imbolc eve. Feb 1st. Before going to bed, each member of the household may leave a piece of clothing or strip of fabric outside for Brigid to bless. The cloth are brought inside the next morning, believed to now have the powers of healing and protection.

BRIGID is alive and well.

The name “Britain” is a derivation of Brigit’s name. Britain was named for an ancient Celtic tribe, the Brigantes, who were the largest Celtic tribe in the country in pre-Roman times who worshipped Her as their Deity. The word “brigand” comes from this tribe of fierce warriors. Her symbol is a flaming spear. Her worship spread, leaving behind places named in Her honour-Brittany in France, Brechin in Scotland, the name Brent, in England, any name containing Bride. Britain’s symbol, the Goddess Brigantia, still found on their 50 cent coin is Brigid in her aspect as Goddess of the Land.  Of course Britany Spears is carrying the modern archetype of Brigid, and strangely enough one of Brigid’s symbols is a flaming spear!

Happy New Year!

Spring equinox marks the real beginning of the New Year because look around you, life is bursting into Life, budding, growth. Yes I do Tropical seasonal based astrology. The Sun is sitting right on the equator, we now have a balance of day and night.  

For all of you South of the equator it is the beginning of autumn, but we are collectively experiencing a Retro-equinox, spring or autumn. A retro-Equinox is a Tiger ready to pounce but being held back by its tail. 

Have you noticed the slow mo as molasses, twilight zone feel to everything? I’ve been calling it deer in the headlights emotions, people are frozen, scared, don’t know what to do.

We are all collectively waiting for the really Big shoe to drop, that’s what it feel’s like to me. 

Sun symbolically enters Aries zero point at Spring Equinox, and Aries is ruled by planet Mars. It is Martial time! The military, soldiers, aggression, power, firearms, explosions, men, sharp weapons. But Mars is Retrograde, appearing to move backwards since January 24 but who can remember that far back?   

Mars will turn direct April 13 BUT it will take until June 20^th for Mars to get back to where he once belonged at 23 degrees of Virgo. So the entire season of spring is held in the wait and see…. feeling. Who will be the first to act?

 HOLD YOUR FIRE, for now.. 

Mars rules the war room, so war talk in the backrooms, Iran? On the physical plane, which is Virgo territory, Mars Rx in Virgo makes you angry, grumpy, and irritated and your upper intestines feel yucky. Going over endless details to try to balance budgets, feeling tired, worn out, not very springy at all. The Moon will exactly oppose Mars on the 10^th.

 Saturn, Lord of Grumpy is also Retrograde as is Mercury now, so this is one giant back step, a look back in anger. 

All Retrograde periods are very powerful and helpful; the planets are closest to the earth and are in their feminine Receptive phase.

Mercury rules the sign of Virgo, so we are re- re winding with 2 planets, unravelling maybe? on two levels in one sign.

Like winding up a mechanism, for the clock works to go, that’s how tightly we are being wound now. Mercury so Retro and will fall back into PISCES on Fri. March 23 and continue Retro until April 4^th but will take till April 23 to recover lost ground.
