V for Vendetta remember Guy Fawkes

Guy Fawkes Day is November 5th

Most Americans know of the famous V for Vendetta from the Graphic Novel and film. But what is the story of Guy Fawkes and why Is it so important right now? Especially that it is one day before these critical mid-term elections in the U.S.

V for Vendetta was originally a Graphic Novel written by Alan Moore illustrated by David Lloyd and published first in March of 1982. It was subsequently made into a 2005 British film written by the Wachowski’s who wrote and directed the Matrix, then the Wachowski brothers.

Originally known as the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, Guy Fawkes joined a group of English Catholics and attempted to assassinate Protestant King James -James VI of scotland, by planting 900 kilos of gunpowder in the cellar of the Palace of Westminster. Fawkes was caught while checking on the stored powder hours before the plot was due to be set in motion, as an anonymous letter was sent to alert the King. Fawkes was arrested and tortured into revealing the names of his co-conspirators, and subsequently executed.

The anniversary of the thwarted Gunpowder Plot of 1605 is celebrated in the U.K. every year on November, 5. In commemoration, amongst the backdrop of fireworks and frenzy, effigies of Britain’s most famous terrorist made with newspaper, straw, and old clothes are burned in bonfires, all adorned with masks bearing a likeness of Fawkes’ face. From 1605 until 1939 every village green in the shires had a bonfire on Guy Fawkes’ Day. During the WWII not bonfires were allowed.

Parliament declared November 5 Guy Fawkes day and it’s now celebrated with bonfires, fireworks in the parks and the carrying of “guys” through the streets. “Guys” are stuffed, straw figures of unpopular persons; and after they have been shown to everybody they are burnt in the bonfires amid great acclamation. The children black their faces and put on comical clothes, and go about begging for a Penny for the Guy.

The famous mask is used to represent freedom from tyranny of all kinds. We can see hoe current again this subject is.  read more about it here

“Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and, for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth.” One of my favorite movie quotes of all time.

“If you think you’re too small to make a difference, try going to bed with a mosquito in the room.”

“When a government does not stand for the best interests of the people, it should not stand at all.”

Think about Guy Fawkes and what he would do if he could Vote.

The wizard of words, Mercury in Gemini

MERCURY is in GEMINI. The communications planet is home from June 6 until  June 21 where the planet which protects tricksters, magicians, thieves, merchants and all communications is happiest. Yes prepare for a whirlwind of words.

In the Tarot the planet Mercury is equated with the very first major card in the deck. Card #1 is the Magician, Magus, the Magic card. Mercury is our magical wand or wands, it is a dualistic sign.

The MAGICIAN Major Arcana #1 Thoth  Tarot

Words will run on. Think whirlwind mind, tornadoes of thoughts. Fast tracking, double talking, juggling all kinds of thoughts and communications. If you are a Harry Potter fan, Mercury is like the Minister of Magic and all of the magic wands.

GEMINI it’s your time to shine, so be the quick change artist that you are, make mental leaps and new acquaintances with your ruling planet at HOME. While Mercury is Gem. Sales, social butterflies, short travels, LITE sociability, local community, siblings, advertising, merchandising, trickery, indecision, monkey mind, upbeat, childlike, charm, and non-commitment runs rampant. If you are a writer or communicator things will flow much easier and more profusely.

While Mercury is in Gemini it also affects Virgo, the other sign Mercury rules. VIRGO gathers, organizes, perfects, focuses, remembers, all the scattered details in a quite OCD manner.

Gemini is the sign of the naturally double talking TWINS. It’s a fast paced sign and Gemini is moving fast right now. GEMINI is ruled by that fancy-hatted and shoe’d, fleet- footed messenger of the Gods MERCURY. Gemini’s are intensely curious. Our minds have two lobes, that’s why Mercury is a dual sign. Many Twins are born under the sign of Gemini like AMAL CLOONEY and GEORGE CLOONEY’s Twins born June 6.

Gemini’s naturally get along with all the other AIR element signs. LIBRA is CARDINAL AIR, AQUARIUS is FIXED AIR. They are literally all on the same wavelength. With Jupiter in LIBRA now this enhances all the Air signs.

The downside of MERCURY in GEMINI is that the already strong POLARITY gets even more polarized now.

GEMINI is the sign of the LOVERS in the TAROT!

THE LOVERS Tarot Psychic Tara Greene

GEMINI the LOVERS #6

June, governed by the Goddess Juno is the best time for weddings. It’s fascinating that in the tarot GEMINI= The LOVERS. It’s all about polarity, opposites, duality.

GEMINI has what is called PEUR or Peter Pan, mentality. But ya gotta love ’em. They move too fast for you to pin them down.  Don’t try to pin them down. Their charm will win you over, they can sell refrigerators to Inuit folks. They shine in public speaking.

GEMINI men usually take forever, if they ever do, to settle down. They naturally wander. GEMINI’s get easily bored, male or female. Their main thrust is to gather information, move like the wind, curious, wiry, young, forever young. Like Paul McCartney who turns 75 on June 18.
