These days Halloween has become another day in the year in which to sell lots of scary rubber and plastic paraphernalia, fake blood, creaky coffin lid opening soundtracks, the Monster Mash, etc etc. another commercial holiday. Children dressed in costumes go door to door with their pillowcases {environmentally friendly} asking Trick or Treat! The kiddies are given way too much sugar, and carefully pre-packaged non interfered with goods. Adults these days get into the Halloween theme by dressing up- straight guys love to be able to go out in drag on Halloween and generally party, funkily “spook-up” their environments and drink a lot. Lots of scary movies get shown.

But let’s not forget the origins of Halloween. It is Hallowed Evening. A Holy Evening, the Ancient Pagan/Wiccan New Year during the month when the Sun is in Scorpio, sign of Birth Death and Transformation. It is close to the mid-point between Autumn and Winter Solstice. Death is Rebirth. Wiccans honour this eve as the night when the veil between the two worlds is thinnest and much scrying, gazing into crystal balls and connecting with the spirits of the dead goes on as this night offers the easiest access.

The Wheel of the Year Turns and this is a Sabbat or Sabbath Night, covens gather to do Ceremony. This is a Sacred not a Scared Night.

I wish in the midst of your pumpkin carving and revelry that you take time out to honour this day as it was originally intended. Remember in the midst of all the superficial trappings of Halloween, the hundreds of thousands, some say up to 9,000,000 mainly women, children and men who were accused of being witches by the Catholic Church who were tortured and burned at the stake. Old women, crones, medicine women, herbalists, midwives, pagans,their families, the poor, all innocent people who lived in harmony with Nature, who Loved their Mother the Earth, who knew the Wise Women’s Ways, the ancient ways to heal, to tend the sick, the dying, the mothers giving birth. It was a misogynist Nazi Christian tyranny that went on for over 300 years in Europe and to the New World where the last woman was burned at the stake at Salem. Remember this Holocaust because it wasn’t so long ago. You didn’t have to be Jewish or Muslim you mainly just had to be a woman and therefore evil in the sainted eyes of the Holy Christian Church.

I remember my own burning, the Inquisitors {one of whom turned out to be in this present life, my first husband, and a couple of Real Estate Agents, one Jewish, one Black} I relived this memory of my past life during a Holotropic Breathwork session. Many other women also relived the same experiences. It was horrible, my own two children were forced to stand and watch as their mother was tied to the stake and the fire lit. Of course I wasn’t meek or mild, I screamed and cursed them all for their inhumanity and ignorance, for their sadism and cruelty.

Those 100,000-200,000 to 9 million innocent souls who were terribly tortured and burned are back now on this earth.

Deep in the cells of your being in your cellular consciousness be you male or female at this time, you remember the Burning Times when you lived in total fear, when you hid you pagan religion, your ability to help, to heal, when tyranny was all around and anyone could accuse you of being a witch thereby ensuring your almost certain death. Light a candle for those hundreds of thousands of souls who were innocent and remember what it was like. Given 6 degrees of separation you or someone you love, your children or your dog or cat, a friend or even your landlord was surely enough one of those people.

It’s time to acknowledge the deep pain in the shadows of our unconscious. The only way to heal it is to acknowledge that shadow, let the tears flow, the grief, the agony. This brings it out of unconsciousness otherwise shadow control our actions unconsciously and allows us to keep inflicting pain on others and ourselves, believing that we are not worthy, not lovable, deceitful, sinners, powerless. There is a collective shadow of women being afraid to hold their power and beauty.

As this is a New Year in the Ancient Count of Days Light a Candle of Illumination and Enlightenment and go beyond the rage, the anger into Love and Forgiveness. For the only way out is to forgive the accusers for their ignorance. This takes great strength and courage, for as you Forgive them you also forgive yourself and allow yourself to be free of the past.

They will have gotten their karmic comeuppance.

HALLOWEEN is SAMHAIN is the Pagan New year!

We are totally out of synch with solar/lunar natural cycle Westerners who denigrate the earth, the Feminine, the Goddess, and ourselves celebrate New Year’s on a totally artificial Gregorian calendar date 2 months later.  Why not get in synch now?

 The commercialized version of Halloween which has been handed down to us, does partake of some of the original mystery of this night filled with ghosts and spirits walking amongst the living.

October 31 is the night when the veil which divides the worlds of the living and the dead is the thinnest. Covens of pagans, who are ancient nature worshippers, labelled witches and persecuted by the Catholic Church for centuries, would gather to celebrate this sacred Night, the direction of the North West on the great round of the wheel of Life.

Plates of cakes and wine with candles lit are offered to your beloved ancestors, without whom your consciousness and body would not be here. Recalling your departed relatives with reverence is part of the sacredness of this day.

An altar is decorated with autumn leaves, the oranges and golds, the pumpkin, a fall vegetable, one of the last of the season, symbolizes the full round, ripe with abundant seeds of Life.  The harvest has been gathered, the fields are fallow. The gates of life and death are opened! the new Sun child is conceived, the dead arise and walk, and to the living is revealed the Mystery, that there is no death, that life is everlasting, all endings are but new beginnings. It is the best night to scry gazing into crystals or water.

The popular children’s Halloween game of bobbing for apples comes down to us from the original ancient ceremonial use of the apple at the Halloween Sabbat ceremony. An apple is Goddesse’s sacred fruit of Life- remember the Garden of Eden? It is cut by a ritual sword or athame splitting it open to reveal it as the fruit of death as well. The 2 in One.  All apples are Goddess symbols, the shape of the fruits’ seeds is the 5 sided pentagram , the five fold star of rebirth, as Venus actually cycles in the pentagram shape over time. Upright pentagrams are symbols of Venus herself. The downturned ones are inverted used for black magic and negative.

Apples and eaten wine is drunk. Celebrations of rebirth, renewal, everlasting life is what Halloween is all about. At Midnight Nov 1st becomes the day of the Dead celebrated throughout Mexico, it is coincidentally also part of that ancient Halloween celebration. The spirits of the dead are able to intermingle with the living. Meals are shared with the departed ancestors and friends. In Mexico great family picnics occur in cemeteries. The dead are considered to be helpers and protectors of the living from the beyond always with us but closer this night.

Happy Solstice, standstill Astrology

Happy Summer Solstice in the Northern hemisphere and happy Winter solstice down under. This is one of the four foundational points in the year.

Also Called Litha to the pagans. Our ancestors participated in solstice rituals and ceremonies since before recorded time. The sun God king was sacrificed symbolically as the light gives way to night, we are at the 1/2 way point in the year. Lucky Friday the 13th, reclaim it

Reclaim Friday the 13th and the #13 back to its origins as a Lucky Witch/Pagan Moon worshipping number of lunar cycles in a Year. Reclaim it sisters and brothers.

The fear of #13 is really a misogynist brainwash that originated with the Catholic church. e you superstitious? Were you born under a bad sign?  The scientific name for fear of #13 is called triskadekaphobia and the fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskevidekatriaphobia. Why is the #13 feared and supposed to be bad? The origin of the number 13 needs to be understood and shifted from fear and superstition.

 I love #13. The truth will set you free. Pet a black cat today and break a few mirrors. Breaking mirrors is a psychological metaphor for breaking free of your unconscious projections.

In the Tarot the #13 is DEATH and as the Western culture fears death and its own immortality it screwed all of this up and mad death bad and to be feared.

Death was always presided over by The GODDESS. She who gives birth also gives Death. Again the Church’s fears of the Divine Feminine had to make everything associated with HER the Great Goddess- bad, negative, fearful, tainted. 

Friday is sacred to the Goddess VENUS it is HER day, that right there is telling you something. 

 Thirteen is the sacred number of the Goddess, the DIVINE FEMININE because it is the number of annual LUNAR cycles. Friday is named in honor of the Nordic Goddess Freya who is also the planet/ Goddess Venus. The Moon is one of the main embodiments of the Goddess. Women’s menstrual cycles are synchronized to the moon and women were seen to be earthly representatives of the Goddess, Her mysteries and immortality. I have always identified with being a witch, very much so. I was teased and called a witch since I was a kid because of my unruly coarse black hair and intense energy. Numerologically I am a number 11/2. A High Priestess and remember past lives serving in Ancient Temples. I felt connected to Circe the Sorceress since I was a teenager. Going to Stonehenge, Greece and Ephesus, Turkey when I was 17 brought many past life memories back into my consciousness as a High Priestess. There may be the first Woman Vice President in U.S. History elected in a few days.   As this is a New Year in the Ancient Pagan turning of the great circle of the year Light a Candle of Illumination and Enlightenment and go beyond the rage, the anger into Love. on the rare BLUE MOON put your crystals out under the FULL MOON light to be cleansed for a new year. HALLOWEEN 2020 is a RARE BLUE Full MOON and under Covid-19 most people will not be trick or treating as usual. Which in this instance is a good thing. 2020 has turned everyone back into themselves to examine what is really valuable to them. Lilith the Dark Goddess and CIRCE the Sorceress are conjunct the Moon at 1and 2 degrees Taurus.

Spring Equinox rituals for transformation

The Vernal Equinox is one of the most powerful days of the year as the balance of Day and Night and the beginning of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere is celebrated. Celebrated as OSTARA by Algo-Saxon and Germanic tribes as a celebration of the First day of spring.  The Green Man who fertilizes the Goddess is resurrected and the symbols which are associate with Easter, rabbits, and eggs are basic symbols of fertility. An American Witch and poet named Aiden Kelly who was looking for sabbat names more interesting than Spring Equinox ended up adopting Ostara for the Vernal {spring} Equinox and we’ve been using it for over 40 years now. 

This is a powerful day for Ritual and Ceremony to release old energies and transform them.  We are aligning ourselves with the relationship of the Sun to the earth. To begin the ritual first smudge yourself. Create a sacred space or circle. You will need some soil and some seeds. Flowers are also used to represent the growth of nature that will be arriving soon. 

Wear red yellow or green.  I don’t do banishing rituals or spells but transformations.

This 1st ritual uses FIRE as this is ARIES a Fire sign

In the Tarot ARIES energy is the Symbol of The EMPEROR # 4

Ritual items” a black and a white candle, a yellow or green candle. Smudge and incense. Essential oils of jasmine or rose flowers. Paper and a black marking pen and a gold one. A lighter or matches, a fire-proof container, seeds a container and some water.

Split the paper in two and with the black pen right “Be Gone” on 1 half. Write all the things, situations, feelings and habits that you desire to let go of and to transform. Take your time. Place this negative list under the black candle. 

 Then as you leave the sacred circle with spirits and elements you have called in you must say ” All my ancestors.” before you can leave the circle otherwise you dismiss all of them in a very crude dishonouring way. Never leave a sacred circle without acknowledging the spirits which you have summoned. Then take a shower or bath to cleanse yourself.  Visualize the water washing away any heavy negativity and feel that your aura and spirit becoming clean and new.  Get dressed in clean clothes and anoint yourself with the essential oils or you can also do this ritual naked or “skyclad” as most witches do. 

Go back to your sacred circle and as you enter you say “All my ancestors.” as a sign of respect.  Take the second sheet of paper and write rebirth on it in gold ink. Write down all of the positive goals, affirmations, positive changes you wish you to grow and have.  Affirm that you have all of these now. Never say ” I want, i desire, i should, I would, I hope, or I wish” these statements banish what you are trying to create. Feel how you feel when you would have all of these things. It’s important to bring emotion into your projected desires.  Take your time. When your accomplishment list is completed put the gold-inked list under the white candle.  Light the black and white candle and incense. 

You will burn the negative list in the black candles flame and throw it in a fireproof container.  and use its flame to set it afire and throw it in the ashpot, etc. As you do this say:

”  Let go of this negative energy and I transform this negative energy into positive energy, by the Light of the candle and of the increasing Sun. So may the dark be transformed into the Light. So mote it be. So it is.” 

Then after this take the positive list and you will light it with the white candle as an ignition of fire. State out loud “I have the love of my Beloved for which I am grateful, I am blessed, healthy, healed, whole, joyous, abundant.” Or whatever is on your list.  Set this lit alight with the white candle and use it to light the third green or yellow candle. Take the ashes of the positive list and put then in a shell or fireproof container. 

The third green or yellow candle is now lit.  You will take the seeds and pot of soil and plant the seeds in the soul while saying out loud.

” On this day of balance between the Masculine Sun and the Feminine Earth may all beings be balanced, whole, happy and joyous. I celebrate the Sacred Marriage of the God and Goddess of the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine today and all days. May we celebrate equality, peace, respect, and love amongst all peoples and within ourselves. As above, so below and so within.

“I plant the seeds of new positive growth in the fertile soil of Mother Earth. As life returns to earth I am also reborn anew, in the Light. You can sit and meditate then take your ashes outside and bury them in the earth where they will fertilize new growth.

Out of the broom closet,witches

I am officially and publicly out of the broom closet.Yes I am a witch, a white witch. I proclaimed this on TV yesterday. Halloween or Samhain is an ancient Pagan/wiccan celebration honoring the close of the old year and it is New Years. It is the day when the veil between the worlds is thinnest. NOvember 1 is All saints Day or the Day of the dead. I was also initiated as a Green Witch by Susun Weed at her goat farm in Woodstock New York in 1987. 

Archetypal wicked witch, hag, crone.

Wicca or wiccan is a modern term for ancient pagan spiritual beliefs which honoured the Great Mother the earth and the Divine Feminine and  participated in the turning of the wheel of the year.It is a non-hierarchical, pantheistic religion. Although I hesitate to use the term religion as we associate it with organized Patriarchal religions. 

The Catholic Inquisition which initially was against all heretics, the Cathars in particular, terrified pagans for hundreds of years.  The Grand Inquisitors ruled from 1200 until the mid-19th century. The Malleus Maleficarum written in 1486 stated that witchcraft was to blame for bad weather. This charge was levelled mainly at women, which according to this text “all witchcraft comes from carnal lust which is in women insatiable”. 

Over the course of 300 years in Europe estimates as high as nine million people were accused of witchcraft, 80% were women were burned at the stake, sadistically tortured and their children were forced to watch them burn. This was the women’s Holocaust. This was worse than Hitler and the Catholic Church is wholly to blame for it. 

 

I remember being burned at the stake and the  Jesuit Priests who convicted me. The one who convicted me in the past turned out to be my ex-husband in this life I later discovered. One re-appeared as one of the realtors who tricked me into selling my house out from under me years ago. It’s a long story,and is part of the book I am still writing.

HOLOTROPIC BREATHWORK

I experienced a full memory of this past life during a Holotropic Breathwork workshop years ago. Holotropic Breathwork was invented by Dr. Stanislav Grof following his experiments using LSD in psychiatry in the 70’s. It is a breathing and music aided psych0-spiritual healing journey which induces a non-ordinary state of reality experience. Most people remember their birth and pre-births in this state. Some people remember death experiences. A number of women at this specific workshop stated that they also remembered their past life as witches and being tortured. 

I had been very angry at the Priest who sentenced me. I cursed him for his ignorance and for so wickedly and arrogantly destroying my life as well as the other women who were also being tortured. My heart broke to leave my husband and children. This was not the first time that I had been serving The Goddess and my life had been destroyed because of it. I also remember being a High Priestess of the Goddess in Greece years ago and having that be overrun an destroyed by  hostile invaders.

Those 7 million women who had been tortured in the past have  come back into this life to take back their power and to reinstate the worship of the Great Mother. That is why the pagan Goddess worshipping communities, websites, workshops, and courses are increasingly  popular now. I am working on launching Priestess workshops and online Moon lodges now.

In the West where women are largely well-educated, relatively good wage-earners, and have freedom {to some extent{ within this culture, we all now must proudly announce where our ancient soul reverence belongs.

It used to be shameful to be called a witch. The stereotype of the old hag, or crone, depicted as an ugly old woman with hooked nose and warts and wild hair, and the fairy tales about the Wicked Old Witch, eating children are a gross misrepresentation and total cultural propaganda.

Elder women were wise women and healers. whose knowledge as midwives and who also attended to those dying were respected and honoured. They had status. 

In a culture which worships youth and not the status of being a wise elder, women need to also embrace this aspect. We are all inevitably ageing. The masculine type of pursuit of immortality is rooted in the false belief that we are our bodies and not immortal souls. The word crone is equated with witches and it carries the same popular stigma. I like the term Crone because it simply means chronos, Time, seniority, maturity, and implies wisdom from living so long.

In my mind if you are older but not wiser that is why you would want to avoid being called a crone and not acknowledged for your wisdom. Language is also empowering. A  large part of Feminism  pointed out that reframing and respelling, sounds Magical doesn’t it?  changes the meaning of a word.

Let’s Re-Spell this.

I put forward that the word CHRONE spelled with the additional H be used proudly to represent a woman past -menopause. That could be any age from the late 40’s. It means a wise women, an elder worthy of respect and honored for her experience and wisdom. We can revere aging as beautiful.

I had been saying I am ready to fully embrace my own power. I was sitting in front of the TV Tuesday night when a commercial came on for the CTV Morning show called Canada A.M. In my mind I said I want to be on that show. I stated that intention clearly.

Wed. October 28, I get an email from a producer at Canada A.M. asking me if I would be interested in being on the show for Halloween talking about wicca and witches. They gave me some homework to do to help them prep videos which I was happy to do.  watch the video below.

THE VEIL BETWEEN THE WORLDS 

Get in touch with your past lives tonight when the veil between the worlds is thinnest. Do a breathing exercise and meditation tonight. Bring out your crystals, create a sacred space. Set up a bowl made of dark opaque material to scry on. This is the night of connecting with your dead ancestors for their wisdom and guidance.

Happy Birthday Emma Watson, magical destiny in the stars

Happy Birthday to actress Emma Watson​ who turns 25 April 15th. The famous Harry Potter star is now a leading feminist for the United Nations spearheading the HeForShe campaign as a women’s ambassador. So glad that she is such an ethical stalwart person for wanting to make a real difference in women’s and men’s lives.

Emma is an independent pioneering, enterprising strong-willed Aries Sun in the 8th house who is a natural actress with Venus in Pisces who was destined to play a powerful role through her work with Venus in the 6th house.

Emma’s MOON, her instincts, her emotions are connected to the Galactic Center at 25 degrees of Sagittarius  and was out-of-bounds when she was born. She is a very unique independent woman.
