Surrealist Tarot Deck

The surrealist Tarot deck of Leonora Carrington has gorgeous imagery based on her paintings. I need this deck. I’ve always loved surrealism and have been a strong proponent of women artists.

I wanted to be an artist since I was 9 years old. I told my mother that it was what I was going to be when I grew up. There was only Georgia O’Keefe that I knew of as a child who was a famous living woman artist and I loved her paintings. I went to Art College and specialized in Experimental Arts. I got involved in Feminist Art and found out there were many women artists since the Renaissance who have been suppressed and ignored.

Rare Moon occult Mars February 18

Watch the rare Moon occult Mars on February 18th

this occurs both astronomically and astrologically.

“Over a period of 90 minutes or so, Mars will disappear west-to-east across Canada. Projections from the International Occultation Timing Association call for the disappearance to occur in Winnipeg at 6:02 a.m. CST, in Toronto at 7:26 a.m. EST, in Montreal at 7:39 a.m. EST, in Halifax at 9:02 a.m. AST and in St. John’s, N.L. at 9:51 a.m. NST.

In all areas, Mars will be visible in the sky for about three hours prior to its disappearance and will reappear on the other side of the moon approximately 75 to 80 minutes after it vanishes – although the reappearance will be difficult to spot if sunrise has occurred.

Calgary is too far west to see the vanishing act, but will witness the red planet’s reappearance at approximately 5:59 a.m. MST. Ditto for Edmonton three minutes later.

The occultation will also be visible across most of the continental U.S., save for some parts of the West Coast, as well as Mexico and most of Central America.

“We’re not going to have another chance to see an occultation of Mars by the moon this whole entire year,” Hyde said. There will be four other occultations in 2020, all visible from the Southern Hemisphere.

The occultation will be too distant to be visible with the naked eye, but anyone with a telescope or binoculars will be able to spot Mars in its final moments before it vanishes and first moments after it reappears.” from article

Love Occulted Dec 7

Like two parallel universes merging or intersecting.  There will be  a predawn occultation of Venus on December 7.
An occultation is an event that occurs when one object is hidden by another object that passes between it and the observer. Occultations of Venus  by the Moon happen every six months or so.

The  best places for watching the occultation of Venus by the Moon is at 6:43 a.m. Fairbanks Alaska or anywhere from Alaska, Yukon, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories. People from that part of the globe can watch as the moon occults– covers over – Venus for an hour or more before sunrise.

An Occultation is also known as a Parallel Conjunction, as “normal” astrological angles (such as conjunctions) are measured on Longitude only.  When two planets conjoin not just on Longitude but also on Latitude (also known as the Parallels), it’s considered a Parallel Conjunction, and its interpretation is given much more power.

Everyone is fascinated with the occult these days. Occult means hidden and implies mysterious, mystical, psychic, magical, secret energies and experiences. Sounds exciting…

Did you know that a solar or lunar eclipse is an occult occurrence? In astronomical terms, an eclipse of the sun is  an occultation of the Moon in front of the Sun. Venus will disappear behind the lit side of the waning crescent moon and then reappear on the unilluminated side of the crescent.

 The moon will already be in Scorpio. The astrology of the conjunction occurs at 9:25 am PDT.  Views from North America, Central America and the Caribbean will be especially spectacular, as the two bright beauties jostle for center stage. The occultation is visible from the continental U.S. but only in daylight. However, December 7 is also a great time to try to see Venus in the daytime, either with binoculars or your unaided eye.

What do occultations mean?

They are like super powerful eclipses. The Moon eclipses Venus  and the two feminine planets appear to merge. The Moon is the Mother in Astrology, unconditional love and nurturing. The Moon is the Unconscious, the High Priestess in the tarot, she is the realm of the psyche and the womb.  The Moon is cyclical time, menstruation, ovulation, the dreamtime, night-vision, owls, Goddess Diana, the sign of Cancer, Mermaids,  

Venus is love, the heart, self-love, world-love, romantic and sexual love, agape. 

The Moon is receptive, Venus is a seductress, active. From an occult point of view,the energies of this love occultation should bring you to clarity around the question of giving and receiving.  This yin/yang love energy has been floating around in my unconscious mind the last few days.

This is an eclipse of love by love.

This is a beautiful symbol of combining Feminine intuition with heart. The 6th and the 4th chakras. 

Use watermelon tourmalines if you have them to hold the energy of this love occultation.

I would advise you to focus on connecting with the energy of the Moon Venus occultation especially as it in Scorpio in Astrological calculations.

It is an auspicious time Let go and release any old ties that are binding your heart and keeping you in a false idea of separation. Healing sexual shame, abuse and  woundedness. Healing your heart chakra. 

Allow yourself to receive from the Moon, unconditional love from the planet Venus the ability to give love wholeheartedly.
