There’s an EXACT VENUS in ARIES square to  PLUTO in  Capricorn @ 17 degrees. Another Cardinal Cross about woman, money,values, power, control, the 1% Plutocracy and secrets.

 Pluto in Capricorn is corporate power, the Patriarchy, the unconscious, the shadow. Pluto is even more obsessively controlling now and very powerful as he is virtually Stationed Retrograde.

DONALD TRUMP WILL WIN BY A MILE, no sense in even looking at that. But his powers will fall later this year. 

This is another CARDINAL CROSS with URANUS, Mr. “EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED”  revolutionary involved although not exact to the degree. Uranus is at 21 degrees conjunct VENUS. There may be some shocking revelations about women, power and secret controls outing soon. 

Who is the person calling for REVOLUTION in this election?

Remember PLUTO is the COSMIC RECYCLER, the Garbageman, who destroys the structures which are dead, outworn,to break them down into new fodder.  

What I am sensing is that if Hillary Clinton does pull ahead now. Bernie Sanders supporters will put increasing pressure on her and on the government through protests to change the system. Yes there will be a revolution. The old order which supports the 1% is in its death gasp. Bernie Sanders is a great gift to us all. Truly amazing to see a politician who is honest ethical who has stuck to his principles and never been bought out. He knows his job is to serve people, he is a humble Virgo. He is not in it for personal power or glory. 

This aspect can be challenging to Hillary’s power attempts to rule the world. 

The PLUTOCRACY controls the media. Hillary symbolizes every inch the Venus in Aries women archetype now appearing to be breaking the glass ceiling by attempting to become the first woman president. 

Because of the way New York voting is set up many of Bernie Sanders younger voters may not be registered as Democrats and would have had to do that months ago. This weakens him because of the way the system is set up. 

In Hillary’s natal chart. Venus inconjuncts her natal Venus at 16 degrees Scorpio with Pluto sextile to her natal Venus in her 5th house of will power. The two planets fall into her natal 10 and 7th houses. But her Aries and Capricorn cusps are in the 11th and 8th houses. This will makes it more difficult for this energy to affect her directly.

Remember that Hillary is a quintuple SCORPIO and MARS RETROGRADE will diminish her power. 

BERNIE SANDERS 

Venus at 17+ degrees ARIES is conjunct to Bernie’s Natal MOON at 19 degrees ARIES which is also conjunct his Mars at 23 degrees ARIES. The Mars Retrograde affects him more strongly. Transiting Venus is sextile to Bernie’s Natal Jupiter in Gemini at 19 degrees in his 8th house of power, transformation, and other people’s money and they form a YOD or a FINGER OF GOD to his 19 degree SCORPIO ASCENDANT,also under Retro energy from Mars. Venus makes an inconjunct to his 15 degree VIRGO SUN, which Jupiter is hovering over now.

Pluto SQUARES Bernie’s MOON and MARS in ARIES in his Natal chart in his 5th house of will. 

This is a very ferocious aspect. Again because of the new Mars Retrograde energy it can shift the tide of power. 

I did have a little vision that said. Hillary Clinton will beat Bernie Sanders buy a tiny tiny fraction and there will be protests and civil unrest and a recount and there will be a draw.

The Tower is a Major Arcana which is usually destructive, a blast of lightning strikes the ego. This is the ARCHETYPE of 9/11. It is a symbol of awakening, a bolt out of the blue. It is also very aggressive masculine energy. It can indicate Bernie could win, a shocking blast to the Democratic status quo and media structure. Mars moving Retrograde shifts the action and the energy to a different place.

PEE WEE was and always will be a mind-blowing fun romp of an ambiguous anarchic totally artsy children’s Saturday morning show that was wholly original. Something visually creative is juxtaposed with something else and everything is moving. It perfectly captures that age’s art movement in the late 80’s. If you want to be a big kid and HEH HEH like Pee- Wee you’ve gotta steep yourself in the Playhouse.

Some performers invent personas so boldly stylized that they refuse to break character, at least in public. Mae West was one. As were Harpo Marx and W. C. Fields. Stephen Colbert broke character only recently; but Pee-wee Herman -PAUL REUBENS  held on for years.

Like Mr. Colbert, Mr. Reubens used a regular television show as a vehicle for his invented personality: a manic, nerdy man-child in a too-small gray suit, red bow tie and lipstick. “Pee-wee’s Playhouse” (broadcast for five seasons, starting in fall 1986, in the Saturday-morning cartoon ghetto) was a fully realized private universe. It was also, as demonstrated by the complete 45-episode series and one Christmas special out on Blu-ray from Shout! Factory, a series of strongly conceptualized pieces. As packed as each episode is with outlandish props, linguistic pranks — many based on each week’s meant-to-be-screamed “secret word” — and running gags, PLAYHOUSE  is far too rich to binge-watch.

One of many Pee-weevian paradoxes was the instant popularity of Mr. Reubens’s hermetic spectacle, which made its debut, on CBS, the same month that Blue Velvet  David Lynch’s darker but not dissimilar exercise in personal fetishes and weird Americana, opened in movie theaters to an equally passionate response. “Playhouse,” which originally cost a sizable $325,000 per episode and was shot at first in a cramped SoHo loft, took viewers to a candy-colored world of sexual ambiguity and a realm of total anthropomorphism.

Every object was potentially alive: the window, the chair, the floor. The creatures who called the Playhouse home included miniature dinosaurs, sentient machines and a refrigerator of foodstuffs that enjoyed an ongoing fiesta. The mise-en-scène was wildly cluttered, and the show offered a veritable taxonomy of animation styles, combining puppetry, clay animation and video effects, while excerpting Depression-era cartoons on the living TV monitor, Magic Screen.

As Pee- Wee was an adult who acted like a child, so the “Playhouse” aesthetic blended high and low tech, the avant-garde and the vulgar. Art world precursors and analogues include Betty Boop, Red Grooms, the underground animator Sally Cruikshank, the midnight movie Forbidden Zone, East Village performance art, neo-Pop painters like Kenny Scharf, and Raw magazine (an early publisher of the cartoonist GARY PANTER, who was one of the show’s three original production designers).

The Playhouse was further distinguished by its racial diversity and frisky gender bending. Jambi the blue-faced genie (John Paragon) and the elaborately be-wigged Miss Yvonne (Lynne Marie Stewart), “the most beautiful woman in Puppet Land,” each in their way evoked drag performers. Dixie the cabdriver (Johann Carlo) and Reba the mail lady (a pre-law & Order S. Epatha Merkerson) were notably assertive women, while Cowboy Curtis (Laurence Fishburne) and the various hunky beach boys who drifted in and out of the Playhouse were bashful and flirtatious.

Occasionally suggesting a demented version of “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood,” “Playhouse” had a remarkable capacity to be both progressive and regressive, sweet and risqué. No great stretch of the imagination is required to picture a revival of CABARET starring “Playhouse” denizens with a chortling Pee-wee himself as master of ceremonies. (A well-received version of the Playhouse did in fact come to Broadway in 2010.)

Not surprisingly, “Pee-wee’s Playhouse” quickly attracted the attention of academics interested in what was not yet known as “queer theory” or “gender studies.”

“Perhaps what is most unsettling about Pee-wee is the way he straddles the line between sexual knowledge and ignorance, as if he were somehow pre- and post-pubescent at the same time,” Ian Balfour wrote in one of three scholarly articles on “Playhouse” published in the special “Male Trouble” May 1988 issue of Camera Obscura: A Journal of Feminism and Film Theory. Perhaps it was this ambiguity that caused a career-stifling public outcry during the summer of 1991 when, with the show in permanent reruns, Mr. Reubens was busted for indecent exposure in an X-rated movie theater. Pee-wee was post-pubescent after all!

Evidently, Mr. Reubens grew tired of “Playhouse,” and the Shout! box is unavoidably front-loaded. Mr. Panter moved on after the first season; the original King of Cartoons and his herald, Dixie, soon departed as well. Many of the most memorable bits of business occurred in the show’s second season, including Pee-wee’s giant underpants, the pajama party during which he marries a bowl of fruit salad and the appearance of the friendless alien Zyzzybalubah.

The cast thinned a bit during the final three seasons. Jambi and the King of Cartoons receded while the more conventional performers Miss Yvonne and Cowboy Curtis became increasingly central. (Truly, having played a teenage Army grunt, a villainous Ike Turner and the guru Morpheus, as well as this Jheri-curled buckaroo, Mr. Fishburne is among the most versatile actors of his generation.) Still, the show remained remarkably consistent.

First telecast on Nov. 3, 1990, “Camping Out”is a great episode, featuring a real-time bathroom break, a cameo by Sandra Bernhard, a seeming glimpse of Big Bird in the fridge, and excerpts from two classic animations, Oskar Fischinger’s “Alegretto.” and Ub Iwerks’s “The Pincushionman” (a.k.a.”Balloon Land”). It is also the show in which Pee-wee throws caution to the wind: His camping trip with Cowboy Curtis is largely a single-entendre discussion of “wieners” and “buns.”

Shown two weeks later, the final episode, “Playhouse for Sale,” is even more self-reflexive. The secret word is “word.” Magic Screen functions as the host, while, confounded by the obtuseness of either Globey the globe or Pterri the pterodactyl, the ever-sunny Miss Yvonne nearly breaks character herself: “I think I’ve taken one too many trips to Puppet Land!”

Almost the Saturn Return of Pee Wee’s first broadcast September 13 1986. Saturn was at 4 degrees of Sagittarius. The North and South Nodes were almost virtually reversed. Jupiter is now exactly trining where Uranus was then at 18 degrees of Sagittarius.

An historic new incarnation of the Tonight SHow begins Feb 17 2014 PST/Feb 18 at midnight EST as Jimmy Fallon takes over as the latest host of the long running late night TV show. 

Interestingly the Tonight Show on NBC is turning 60 years old this year.

On September 27 1954 it began with Steve Allen as the host. Then Jack Paar, then the longest running JOHNNY CARSON for 30 seasons,then Jay Leno  1992- 2009,Conan O’ Brien’s short stint of 6 months then back to Jay who just retired Feb 6 2014 after 22 years.

Jimmy Fallon ushers in a new era as host of the  Tonight Show back in New York City from California since 1972. Jimmy is not the youngest host. But I think that fact that his name begins with a J seems to fit the host role best.  I find it really strange that Jimmy Fallon’s side man Steve Higgins looks exactly like the original host STEVE ALLEN as id he came backto be part of the show somehow.

Jimmy came to stardom via SNL from 1998-2004 where he co-hosted the news with Tina Fey. He started the Late Night show March 2, 2009 till a few weeks ago.

A charming, boyishly handsome triple threat,  Jimmy does comedy,sings and plays guitar and acts. Jimmy is up to the minute tech savvy, Twitter hashtag user, a musical parodist who laughs heartily at his own jokes. 

OK so lets see who JIMMY FALLON is from his Astrology chart.

Born September 19 1974 in Brooklyn New York.I have no accurate birth time so use NOON for a public celebrity.   

JIMMY is Surprise! a VIRGO.

Jimmy will distract us from what really aches us. Jimmy’s Neptune is also getting very close to Square his Natal Neptune. This is a dream come true for him. He needs to be careful of his health, any alcohol or drugs, even Prescription meds now.  I believe Jimmy’s Moon must be later in Scorpio and that Saturn is crossing his Moon now. My Dad used to watch The Tonight Show when Steve Allen was the original host. So I have known about it all my life. When I was a kid, my dad always told jokes. I nicknamed him my funny Daddy and I adored him for that. My secret wish was always wished to be a comedian as I feel it is really the best career one could have.  I’ll be watching you tonight. Philip Seymour Hoffman life and death Astrology by Tara Greene

Sad tragic news of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s death at 46 years old, from an  apparent heroin O.D. although the autopsy hasn’t been conclusive yet. Considered to be one of the finest actors of his generation. He won the Academy Award for his role in CAPOTE. His sudden passing has engendered a wave of shock and sadness throughout Hollywood. There was a  minute of silence on Broadway today in his honor.

Admired by his colleagues in the theatre and film for his intense, sensitive, honest, indepth acting. Mr. Hoffman leaves three young children. We will never watch more stupendous acting and directing roles which he could and would have accomplished.

He had  been an addict when younger but sober since he was 22 years old. A year ago prescription drugs then heroin and recent rehab stints were reparted. Why the relapse recently? What demons did Mr. Hoffman have?

Lets look at his astrology chart to discover who Philip really was.

I have no accurate birth time so have used NOON for a famous person.

The SUN had just entered LEO the sign of the actor, the dramatic, passionate, willful leader. A new experience in being born a Leo, needing to be center stage, being admired by the world. Leo is also the sign of the child and of the heart.

As his birth time is unknown, at noon, the Moon- his Mother appears to be in Aquarius. His parents divorced when he was young and his mother brought him and three siblings up alone. Moon in Aquarius people are strong individuals, marching to their own drummers, quite brilliant thinkers. If he was born later this day, after 10 pm then his Moon would be in Pisces, the sign of inspired actors,dreamers and addicts.

Mercury at 12 degrees Cancer, Philip’s modus communication is exactly on the United States Sun. This is  a very powerful degree. Connected to Fixed Star SIRIUS. It makes him sentimental, close to his mother, his roots, his foundation. Very emotional, moody, loves children, to eat, a nurturer.

Saturn in Aries limits Aries natural unlimited energy and passion, one can burn out to quickly.

URANUS at 21 degrees Virgo is conjunct Pluto at 18 degrees Virgo. This is a hallmark of an entire 60’s generation. Naturally rebellious soulful tenders of their own psyche’s garden.  

CHIRON at 29 degrees+ of PISCES is opposite Philip’s Uranus. This is a most important degree in any astrology chart as it is the very last degree possible. Considered to be an extremely karmic point it indicates finishing up an entire cycle of lifetimes and getting ready to step off the karmic wheel to become enlightened. Chiron is Retrograde, indicating that Mr. Hoffman wasn’t quite ready to complete his liberation yet.This is something of a BODHISATVA aspect. Someone who attains enlightenment but returns to the earth plane out of compassion, to ease the suffering of others.

NEPTUNE PLANET OF ADDICTIONS

is at 21 degrees SCORPIO and Retrograde squaring JUPITER. Neptune in Scorpio indicates dark passions, shadow demons, nightmares, deep-seated fear, sex, power and control issues. Facination with the dark side, with death, depression. In Square to Jupiter in Leo these demons are enlarged, ferocious, hounds of hell. It also means being too optimistic and totally fascinated with how far he could push the edge, walking the razor blade and being obsessed by it.

NEPTUNE is also the ruler of Pisces and all creative people, artists, actors, and also the planet of addictions, illusion delusion, being able to be a chameleon, which is why he was such an incredible actor. 

NORTH NODE was at 2 degrees of TAURUS. Very solid, grounded, sensual, practical, reliable was what he was supposed to embody as his highest spiritual goal. The NOrth NOde is in square to his Leo SUN, indicating a karmic imperative, a necessity, to shine that spiritual light brightly on the stage of life. This he most definitely did. The SOUTH NODE {not shown in the chart} is right on his natal MARS in Scorpio at 2 degrees. 

These aspects  indicate a  fierce inner struggle, a battle. Philip was a fearless warrior, driven by his passions to be brilliant { his SUN in  LEO} and his demons and his obsessions { Scorpio} from birth and even before.  He achieved much in a relative short life.  His chart is really not that complicated. 

ASTROLOGY AT HIS DEATH

Apparently Hoffman had recently been in rehab but had been doing heroin heavily for the past six weeks or so preceding his death. Apparently he said if he didn’t quit heroin he knew that he would die. Can Astrology predict death?

A number of MAJOR Hard astrology transits were hitting Mr. Hoffman for the past year or so but intensifying now. His Natal SATURN- karma, and Mercury at 12 degrees of CARDINAL signs was being pummeled by PLUTO, URANUS and Venus.

URANUS conjunct Saturn alone is sudden death in and of itself.  Unexpected chaos, uncontrollable erratic energy. And Pluto squaring that and opposing his sensitive Mercury in CAncer. 

SATURN was also transiting his natal NEPTUNE, planet of addictions, secrets, power and control. That is also an intensely heavy transit meaning SATURN= death by drugs, addictions. Saturn would also be squaring his MOON in late Aquarius or early PISCES. Another heavy emotional depressing transit. 

CHIRON at 11 degrees PISCES was opposite to his Natal Venus. He has been vulnerable and weakened by that transit. His old wounds had been re-opened. Addictions, as Carl Jung astutely observed are the thirst for spirit, the pun, alcohol or other drugs to numb the pain of separation from SOURCE.

Neptune at 4 degrees + of PISCES is also opposing his natal VENUS. Venus is desire, in Virgo it is desire for perfection. The illusion of finding it, the dream of bliss, the addiction to perfection, to spacing out, freeing oneself, victimhood, or guilt or simply numbing out or just the love of being High.

Transiting NORTH NODE is exactly on his natal Mars at 1 degree Scorpio and conjunct his SOUTH NODE at 2 degrees. This is a transiting nodal reversal indicating old Scorpionic obsessions being highlighted. These nodes conjunct every 18+ years and oppose every 9+ years. In one sense he was aligned with the movement of spiritual energy now. It did involve dealing with his obsessions, his shadows. The North Node was also in square to his SUN. Fighting the demons with the LIGHT of his own WILL or merging with the Phoenix of rebirth.

The last Total Solar Eclipse at 11 degrees of SCORPIO on November 3 2013 was exactly square to Mr. Hoffman’s Jupiter in Leo. Eclipse’s will trigger energies which last up to a year. Scorpio is the sign of death and rebirth and in square to his Jupiter in Leo, makes one think they are the  King and can get away with anything. Pride, hubris, danger, playing fast and dark, love of speed demons is all part of that energy. 

Philip’ s work will be remembered. My condolences to his long time partner and their three children and his family.  He left a powerful acting legacy and serves to inspire future generations.

Mr. Hoffman was a number 8 in Numerology the symbols of Strength, Justice, the Star, a karmic number. He was under the influence of the number 9 since his last birthday. He was at the end of a 10 year cycle.

I wrote about yesterdays beautiful Venus, she rules artists, in Capricorn and Jupiter in Cancer opposition and how it was beneficial to Capricorn’s, Cancer’s Libra and ARIES, and also peeps with planets at 19 degrees of those signs.  I was thinking about my husband who has his Natal Venus in Capricorn in his 10th house at 20 degrees. He was responsible for designing and creating those huge art installations which the club was famous for. With a crew of 40 people working with him every 6 weeks, huge new installations were designed, they had gigantic budgets. Those were the days. That HEAVY snow storm Feb 8th is  inundating New York, Boston, all the North East coast and right here in Toronto Canada  where I am living. I am sending prayers to all of the thousands of people in the cold and without electric power especially to the poor Hurricane Sandy victims who havent gotten their homes back together even now, months later. Thousands of flights were cancelled.

Right now Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Neptune, Chiron and the North Node are ALL in WATER signs. 

Moon enters PISCES on Feb 10 at 1:20 pm PST.making 7 planets, points etc. in WATER element.

I am not surprised that all that water as above has manifested as LOTSA SNOW down below. 

I know it is hardship for some, but even so, slowing down from  being snowed in  can be very rewarding.

Appreciate the IS-NESS of the time. PISCES energy is BLISS, surrender, dream with the snow.

I love art. Everyone has a secret desire to be an artist. Admit it. To be an artist is to live creatively, to live life freely. I started out as an artist, I went to Art High School and Art College. I had shows in New York , Los Angeles and Toronto.

Everyone Loves Banksy, he is a very  clever man, Did you see the film Exit Through the Gift Shop? Banksy made it about Mr. Brainwash. This is not about street art but about an artist who does amazing work.

Napoleon Brouseau’s talents are enormous. He lived in New York years ago and knew Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol. He met Frederico Fellini, worked on the Pee Wee Herman TV show building props. He was an art director at Area Nightclub for some time. 

Napoleon has paint in his veins. He is the real deal, he has lived the artists life fully and has wonderful and funny stories to tell. He should have been killed about five times already and survived because he has a destiny as an artist to keep creating to keep bringing his soul into manifestation. It takes tenacity to really live like a true artist. Plus he is that very rare artist who is also a nice guy.

His talents are vast and deep, he is always pushing his own edge. Collector’s need to find him, because his time is NOW>

At the opening of this show other artists and gallerists were exclaiming that each painting was museum quality. 

So get up to Toronto Canada asap the show runs till December 8 2012

They really need to be seen as the layers of surface are scintillating. They are like modern Rembrandt portraits. Really!

Yes the Frida Kahlo show is on at the Art Gallery of Ontario, she is my female art heroine. Napoleon is my art hero.

“Returning: Le Fantôme de la Mémoire”

 November 8 – December 8 2012

A series of 19 portrait paintings of apparitions

from the imaginal realms

 inspired by Walt Whitman’s poem “Eidolons”

                                                                         I met a seer,

Passing the hues and objects of the world,

The fields of art and learning, pleasure, sense,

To glean eidolons.

Meet Mr. Bitumen

The poster boy for the show, Mr. B. appears from a dream dimension of his own, portrayed as a bulbous reflective death mask floating ominously over a ghostly Michael Jackson skull. Mister Bitumen is the phantom of future passed inspired by the environmental damage caused by the Alberta Tar Sands.

 Each portrait contains a powerful presence and reveals its’ subjects’ own idiosyncratic essence. Brousseau spent several years painting in what he calls trance and meditation states stalking these eidolons and phantoms that he has pinned down in his paintings.

 

There is the eidolon of Jesus Christ; in another, Abraham Lincoln appears and disappears through a chain link fence, the dividing poverty line. Other portraits are of beings from realms unknown. They appear to be looking curiously at the viewer, pushing forward from their space, trying to enter into our dimension.

 

Brousseau created the works through a long meditative process. The painting are created using his own applied techniques.  He used many types of hand cut rollers with repeated images and applies multiple layers of paint to find the ghostly images. Once they reveal themselves, they are sealed in epoxy. The painting surface, is ground down then he rolls, grinds and brushes over and over in layers in search of more details. It’s like an archaeological dig.

 Each painting is a dazzling show stopper. These beguiling phantoms and memories enchant the viewer, leaving an indelible impression.

 Napoleon Brousseau is well known in Toronto for his giant ant sculptures that adorn the Museum of Canadian Contemporary Art in Toronto and The Cameron House, a famous local art bar.  Brousseau continuously produces astonishing new bodies of work in various mediums. He explores many themes -gender, politics, eroticism, and nature. His works always confronts the viewer with his distinctive perspective of seeing the world.

For the last seven years Brousseau has been the Art Director for his new media eco fundraising project “SEED”, which transforms cell phones into interactive artist tools. The public co-creates virtual trees with their phones which directly contributes funds to planting real trees in urban settings. Seed has been presented at the Winter Olympics 2010, Canada, the U.S., China, Australia and at The McMichael Art Gallery in Kleinburg 2012. A dedicated artist, he is a world traveller and is producing several books from his drawings of exotic explorations.

Six  months after 11:11:11  I remembered this admonition, this is one of the memories it triggered.

More about Napoleon.Yes that’s his real name, { very common French Canadian name from Quebec }  Napoleon’s  seed collective is an  art installation that plants trees. Yes and it has done so in China, Australia, New Orleans, Baltimore, Vermont, Toronto Canada and at the 2010 winter Olympics in Vancouver. and is headed to London and Paris in the near future.

The seedcollective was Napoleon’s brainchild sprouting from a seed of a former New Media project from 2001. Napoleon and his colleagues created the first cel phone driven art interface ever in the world, at the Canadian Film Center in Toronto at the Bell New Media  Lab, that prototype, called SWAMP was shown at Siggraph in Los Angeles in 2001. In 2005 the seedcollective was premiered at the SCOPE Art fair in New York.

Seventh Generation, the long-standing eco company from Vermont, backed Napoleon to help fund Replant New Orleans in 2006 using the seedcollective as the vehicle.  Seedcollective was a web enabled cel phone interactive interface at the time, also a world’s first. Hundreds of trees were planted in New Orleans as a result of users interactions with seed.

Seedcollective.net is currently being shown since January – April 22 Earth Day at the McMichael Art Gallery, in Kleinburg, Ontario, outside of Toronto. The McMichael is the home of the Group of Seven Canadian art collection,which recently toured  London England, seee review here

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Laura Nyro,gets her Saturn Solar return due

 

One of my favourite women singers and songwriters will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame April 14, 2012.

Laura Nyro was a child prodigy teaching herself to play piano and composed and sang her first song at eight years old.

 

Laura wrote many songs which other singers had number one hits with. Eli’s Comin’, And When I die, Stoned Soul Picnic,… and many others. She was so personal in her songwriting and aeons ahead as a feminist. A soulful r ‘n b singer, a contemporary of Joni Mitchell. I heard that Barbra Streisand used to watch Laura perform when they were both starting out. You can check out her story here.

Laura was born October 18 1947 in New York.  She was a Libra, but there was no exact birth time, so her moon could have been in Late Scorpio or early Sagittarius. I was not surprised that her songs were so personal,deep, raw and intense when I saw her astrology chart.

 

Laura had a very difficult  MARS, PLUTO, SATURN conjunction in LEO. Difficult karma with men, power, shadows, authority. She had drug problems,was a heroin addict but kicked it.  All that LEO Star power- she was very much the Queen of her own career.

 

Lots of Scorpio sexual energy of course.

Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Chiron. Her North Node was in Taurus as befits so sensual and pragmatic a singer.

She died April 8 1997 of ovarian cancer at the same age her mother did from the same disease. 

 

Laura was one of my musical heroines.  I listened to and sung along with many of her albums for hours upon hours for many years. I even named my son Elijah after her song ELI’S comin’, although i wasnt conscious of that. 

 

Interesting that after all these years, fifteen to be exact, half a Saturn return, the planet Saturn is now crossing her Natal Sun at 23 degrees of Libra and she finally gets the recognition she deserves, posthumously. Saturn represents worldly position and fame. Saturn is reality, bottom line. It works like this.

A whole new generation will get her songs. She opened up and wrote about her deepest feelings and sesires as a woman, the songs were like reading her most private diaries. If you have Saturn and Pluto conjunctions and most of you born in 82 and 83 have this signature. You have many power and control issues, are prone to depression and have many demons and shadows to fight with internally. In Libra you are all having your first Saturn return now. Its time to grow up. You were born when the first wave of mass divorces happened as the Women’s liberation movement rippled throughout North America. So committment to relationships is not so easy for many of you.
