Lucky Friday the 13th, reclaim it

Reclaim Friday the 13th and the #13 back to its origins as a Lucky Witch/Pagan Moon worshipping number of lunar cycles in a Year. Reclaim it sisters and brothers.

The fear of #13 is really a misogynist brainwash that originated with the Catholic church. e you superstitious? Were you born under a bad sign?  The scientific name for fear of #13 is called triskadekaphobia and the fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskevidekatriaphobia. Why is the #13 feared and supposed to be bad? The origin of the number 13 needs to be understood and shifted from fear and superstition.

 I love #13. The truth will set you free. Pet a black cat today and break a few mirrors. Breaking mirrors is a psychological metaphor for breaking free of your unconscious projections.

In the Tarot the #13 is DEATH and as the Western culture fears death and its own immortality it screwed all of this up and mad death bad and to be feared.

Death was always presided over by The GODDESS. She who gives birth also gives Death. Again the Church’s fears of the Divine Feminine had to make everything associated with HER the Great Goddess- bad, negative, fearful, tainted. 

Friday is sacred to the Goddess VENUS it is HER day, that right there is telling you something. 

 Thirteen is the sacred number of the Goddess, the DIVINE FEMININE because it is the number of annual LUNAR cycles. Friday is named in honor of the Nordic Goddess Freya who is also the planet/ Goddess Venus. The Moon is one of the main embodiments of the Goddess. Women’s menstrual cycles are synchronized to the moon and women were seen to be earthly representatives of the Goddess, Her mysteries and immortality. Pagans worshipped the Goddess, the moon and Her natural cycles of death and rebirth which women partook of every month. Woman’s periods are equated with the number 13. 

To further suppress Goddess worship, the church made the number 13 into something evil, feared and superstitious as they feared women’s powers as creatresses as magical.

Friday the 13th is really an anti-pagan Goddess day and I don’t like it, as it continues to be portrayed that way in error. This keeps unconsciously programming fear of the feminine, intuition, magic, nature, menstrual blood, and women’s power.

Black cats are “familiars” of witches. All cats absorb negative energies and are highly sensitive to spirits and other energies which we normally can’t sense. If you’ve ever had a cat of any colour you know this.

On this day, Friday the 13th I honour the Goddess, the Divine Feminine and the lunar cycles. I remember and honour myself and all women as holders of the mysteries within our bodies.

Do not project your own powerlessness onto someone else as having some amazing power who claims that they can remove your troubles or provide an instant fix for thousands of dollars.  Please don’t pay phony psychics to perform rituals, light candles or pray for you for exorbitant prices. That’s all a hoax.  Yes, positive intentions work, only you can change your own life, no one can do that for you. Full Moon of VIRGO, the 6^th mutable sign of the Virgin Earth Goddess signifies a time to account for many things. A time to analyze what we have harvested on all levels; practical, mental, emotional and spiritual. We are completing emotional lessons in being of service, our work and in honoring our bodies. This is a time to take inventory and critically analyze what nourishes us literally and in our local environment and communities. 

Virgo lunar energy brings a very grounded mood which is great to clean up your act with. Use this entire two week period to tidy up everything. Virgo is the sign of workaholics, accountants, intellectuals, perfectionists and meticulousness. Virgo, ruled by planet Mercury collates, organizes and digests information in a very literal sense.  Virgo is also the sign of health, diets, herbal remedies, organic foods and natural medicine. This is an optimum time to access your health and see what improvements you can make. 

Virgo’s tend to worry and get very nitpicky about life’s apparent imperfections. At this Full Moon learning to trust and have faith is also important. There is a very dreamy, spiritual, creative PISCES energy at work with Neptune conjunct the Sun which can expand many a third eyes on this potent day. HARVEST/ FOOD

You are what you eat. This is a very prominent theme. We need to educate ourselves on how foods are grown. If you eat meat how that is animal treated? How is the land nurtured and harvested. Questions to ask:

Is this Food, Genetically modified? All foods can be genetically modified and despite the propaganda are very dangerous to human and animals health. The body cannot assimilate genetically altered materials. If foods are not certified organic then they are most likely GMO and fertilized with dangerous pesticides such as the heavily carcinogenic Roundup. Find out if there are additives and hormones in your food.  Anything processed is not real food and not fit to be eaten. Most Fast foods and anything microwaved cannot sustain health on any level. Read up on Superfoods, detoxing, The 100 mile diet, food combining, raw foods and supplements to improve your health. Natural herbal remedies, Ayurveda, Chinese, Tibetan and traditional, wise woman herbals are all ancient proven methods.

WORK and SERVICE

As the traditionally sign of Servants. The question is: What do I serve?  This is a very important question. Keep asking it until you get a clear answer.

Are you happy with your job?  The Buddhists talk about Right livelihood, your job should be something which brings good into the world. If you work for an Advertising Agency writing ads for pharmaceuticals drugs which, you will find are dangerous like Paxil, etc. you need to ask yourself if you should be selling or promoting that.

Are you a slave to your job? Why? You can make choices and boundaries about what you are willing to do.

This is a good time to think about how your job can be a dream job with Neptune opposite the Moon. What did you always dream of doing? How can your work serve and nourish the environment and your community?

CLEANSING MOON

Virgo’s are usually clean freaks. What needs to be cleaned up in your environment and in your life? What emotional baggage needs to be jettisoned? This is an excellent moon for detoxing, depending on where in the world you live. In Southern Hemisphere and warmer climates you can safely detox. In the Northern Hemispheres where it is still winter you can do simple nourishing tonics for now. Virgo governs the liver, spleen, small and large intestines and respiratory system. Bitter tonics and specific herbs help stimulate these organs.  Colonics and the like would also be recommended as well as fasting. The body will heal itself if given a chance to rest. 4 candles, a journal, earth or crystals, create a medicine wheel of 4 stones or 8 as you wish.

Begin by smudging yourself. Light your candles. One for each direction. I always work EAST to SOUTH to WEST TO NORTH. Always move clockwise. Call in the four elements and the four direction into your sacred circle.

Call in the four Archangels, Michael, Gabriel, Ariel, Raphael in the same order.
Center yourself by breathing, sit or lie down, close your eyes.

Sit upright, begin to breathe, slowly, naturally and deeply. Let all your thoughts dissipate as you breathe in and out. Pay attention to your breath moving in through your nostrils filling up your lungs and then being released as your lungs empty, breathing out through your mouth. Pause after you exhale for a few seconds then slowly breathe in for the count of four and be aware of the air entering your lungs and filling them. The deeper you breathe, the more oxygen enters your body which expands your conscious awareness as your entire body relaxes. 

Breathe into your root chakra and send the energy down through your spine down to Mother Earth’s center.  Feel the rooted grounded crystalline earth all around you.  Take your time. When you reach the earth’s core spend a few minutes there and thank the Earth Mother. Then when you feel ready bring your back up through the rocks and stones up into your 1^st root Base chakra. Know that you and the earth are one.

Send your breath from your root chakra up through your chakras in order up to your 3^rd eye with the intention of opening it. Make sure to stay grounded as you do this. After you feel the 3^rd eye buzzing send your intention and breath throughout your head waking up your pineal gland and sending the breath up to your crown chakra and out to the Full Moon. The mental and earthy aspects of Virgo need to be balanced at this time. Sit in meditation and receive from the Moon the questions that you have ben pondering on service, health,

CLEANSING MOON BATH

You may also take a ritual cleansing bath after your meditation to get in touch with the watery aspect of the Moon and Pisces sun. You will need Epsom salts or Himalayan salts. Put a few drops of sandalwood or lavender oil into the bath water. Bring candles and incense into the bath. The entire bath is meant as a cleanse so stay focused as you enter. Dunk yourself in the waters with the intention of cleansing all old emotional, mental physical or spiritual energies. Do this immersion four times. You may meditate on your life and your path of service. Bring that fresh cleansed renewed energy into your life.

Write down any thoughts and goals that you will incorporate into your life. You will have the discipline to follow through.
