June 20 is the Peak of the SUN’s LIGHT, the MASCULINE FIRE in the Northern Hemisphere. The longest night of the year in the North, its a time of celebration. As the sun peaks everything shifts gradually into the DARK feminine FEMININE ENERGY energy begins to grow stronger until December 21st when it peaks then the powers are switched again. This is the balance of everything that exists in the Universe.

As Summer begins in the North here in 2020 we are finally getting out after a 3-month lockdown due to Covid-19. Time to celebrate, Life is green, the living colours of flowers are everywhere and abundant. The air smells sweet, bees are buzzing. We are growing our own food in our gardens or containers. We are soaking up the rays.  The Goddess is symbolically Pregnant with the child she conceived on March 21.

The Summer Solstice or LITHA begins 2:44 pm PDT/5:44 pm EDT/ 9:44 pm GMT  as the SUN enters CANCER the 0-degree “world point.” It is the beginning of Winter Down Under. Time

Traditional symbols for Midsummer

Weave flower wreaths to wear on the summer solstice,

The Bonfire

Bonfires are lit on hilltops, by holy wells, and at a sacred place, to honour the fullness of the Sun. People danced around and leap through the flames. Traditionally people stayed up all night on Midsummer’s Eve to welcome the sunrise. Coals from the Midsummer fire were scattered on fields to ensure a good harvest, you can scatter them in your garden

Midsummer is one of the most powerful nights for MAGICK,

Especially healing prayers, love magick, energy, protection and purification. It’s a time of gratitude for family and friends. Reflect on the progress of the seeds that you planted in the earth. A great time to get rid of patterns and objects that no longer serve your Higher Self.

The Fairy Queen and the fairies are said to be out riding on MidSummer Night

This is the time to strengthen your connection with the Fae or Fairie and otherworldly beings,

Honour the Fairies

Create a fairie house in your yard or even in your window. Remember that fairies are very mischievous so be careful. Place spirit boundaries around your house, and protect yourself from their pranks while outside. Wear garlands of marigolds, ivy and or St. John’s Wort. White lily petals, rue and oatmeal in your pockets or in baskets help in protection. Bury a Witch Bottle, a glass container filled with sharp objects such as pins, nails and needles, ashes and salt before entrances to your home for protection.

Leave treats for the Fairies. They love sweets of all kinds. Leave offerings outside in the woods a park or your yard or windowsill.  Leave herbs, ribbons, seashells and bowls of milk outside to gift the Faeries.

Bless the animals.

Ancient herders brought a token animal to be blessed to protect their herds. Ask for protection and blessings for pets, livestock and wildlife.

Have a Feast

Some great summer dishes include seafood, watermelon, berries, lemonade, summer squash, and baked potatoes.

Renew and clean Your Altar

Litha is a great time to clean, cleanse and re-decorate your altar for the Summer season. Take everything off of your altar, clean it, then cleanse it with dried Cedar, Sage, honeysuckle or other sweet incense or sweetgrass smoke. Add summer yellows to and golds to your altar.

Honour Sun Gods & Goddesses

Honor any solar deities with offerings and prayers Some of the sun gods and goddesses are Ra, Horus, Huitzilopochtli Aztec Sun and War God, Irish Goddess Aine, Celtic Sun God Belenos, Greek Sun God Helios, Roman Apollo, Etain Irish Sun Goddess, Yuyi, Taoist God of the Sun, Macha, Irish Goddess of women, Sunna, Norse Goddess of the Sun and many more.

Flowers, honey honouring nature and growth

The Midsummer Moon is also known as the HONEYMOON, where this term originated. Mead is made, handfasting ceremonies are performed. Mead is considered to be a magical life-enhancing drink, You can make an altar to honour the Oak tree, with their leaves. Sunflowers are also a great example.  Magical baking and charms are created on this special day. Traditionally this festival spans three days. This year it is June 20-23rd.

Buttermilk Bread

To bring abundance to your kitchen. Sunflower seeds represent the light half of the year and the poppy seeds represent the dark half of the year.

You will need:

3 cups of white flour, preferably bread flout type.

500 ml of Buttermilk

I tsp.of bicarbonate of soda

Sunflower and poppy seeds for sprinking

Red ribbon and a sprig of rosemary

Place the flour in a large bowl. Make a well in the centre. Sieve in the blended salt and soda and pour in the buttermilk. Mix well with a wooden spoon until the dough feels springy. If it feels too sloppy just add a little more flour. Turn it onto a board and cover with a fine dusting of flour. Pat it with your hands until you have a round shape. Take a sharp knife and score lightly into eight sections, one for each festival. Sprinkle half of the loaf with poppy seeds and the other half with sunflower seeds.

Place onto a greased baking tray and pop your buttermilk bread into a moderate oven for about 20-25 minutes. Keep and eye on it. When the bread is ready it will change colour and it will sound hollow when you tap the bottom. Cool completely on a wire rack. When it is cool, place your sprig of rosemary on top and tie the red ribbon across the middle.

Consecrate the bread by turning the loaf three times saying “From the fields and through the stones, into fire, Midsummer Bread, as the Wheel turns may all be fed. Goddess Bless.”

Take your bread and share it with your family, friends or whoever you would like to bless. Eat it fresh, as soon as it is made if you can.

Elderflower Champagne

Elderflowers peak at Midsummer. Pick them in the fullness of a sunny day, ideally on Midsummer’s Day. The Elder is sacred to the Mother Goddess and is often called the Witch’s Tree, the Elder Mother, or Queen of the Trees. It is protective, with wonderful healing properties. It aids transformation, change and renewal, this drink will aid in transforming your life. Or drink Elderberry Liqueur.

In Canada, Strongbow makes an elderflower cider. http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/strongbow-elderflower-apple-cider/413880#.V2eHm_krLIV

Ingredients:

8 litres water

1.25 kg sugar

8 large elderflower heads

4 lemons

4 tablespoons mild white wine vinegar

Do use screw-top bottles. Large plastic bottles are good. This is a fizzy drink, if not bottled tightly it can explode! Keep it somewhere safe. Make sure the elderflowers are clean and pick them when the sun is strongest.

Boil the water and dissolve the sugar into it, organic sugar is best.

When the water cools, add the elderflowers, the juice of two of the lemons and slices of the other two, plus the vinegar.

Cover with a clean cloth and leave for a day.

Strain through a fine sieve or piece of muslin, carefully squeezing the flowers to extract as much flavour as possible.

Store in clean screw-top bottles.

Leave alone for 10 days or so. Drink within a month. Enjoy and give thanks to the Spirit of the Elder.

Honey Cake

A celebration of a sweet life.

If you can source locally produced honey its the best. Wherever it comes from always thank the precious Bees.

Ingredients:

225 gram Butter 1 cup
250 gms Honey or 1 cup
100 gms Dark Muscovado Sugar, 3.5 ounces by weight
3 Eggs, beaten
300 gms Self-Raising Flour, 1 1/2 cups

Cut the butter into pieces and heat slowly, adding the honey and the sugar. When fully melted, turn up the heat and boil the mixture for one minute. Remove from the heat and allow to cool. Add the beaten eggs to the cooled honey mixture. Sift the flour into a large bowl and beat the liquid honey mixture into it until you have a smooth batter. Pour the mixture into a round lined sponge tin and bake in a preheated oven at 160 C for about 50 mins – or until the cake is well-risen and springs back to the touch. Cool on a rack and glaze with a few tablespoons of warm honey. A nice sweet treat.

Beltane May Day, phallic fertility, fires and fairies

May 1st Beltane is a Sacred Phallic worshipping Green Man the Goddess lover’s day as May Pole dancing rites are held and Beltane Bonfires burn.

Beltane/May Day is an ancient fertility festival honouring the Horned Man or God Pan with a huge phallus. This cross-quarter day celebrates Fire, male sexuality, fertility and fairies. The word PANdemic comes from the root of this Pagan God who was demonized by the Catholic Church.
Beltane celebration rituals begin tonight April 30. It’s Walpurgis night, the night before May 1st, Beltane.
SACRED PHALLIC and FIRE FERTILITY CELEBRATION FESTIVAL

Light the fires of passion, as this festival celebrates love, conception, fertility, and the power of the masculine phallic force of

the horned God to initiate new life in the Goddess.

The ancient God Pan is ready to mate with the Goddess and impregnate her. This is a very ancient night of celebrating the “Heiros Gamos” or SACRED MARRIAGE between the Goddess and the God, meeting in the fields, or in the woods to honor fertility and new life.
Setting new intentions on this night is very powerful.
MAYPOLE

The MAYPOLE is the phallic symbol and the participants weave their ribbons around as they dance the spiral dance of time and our interwoven connectivity with all our relations on MAY day.

This is one of the major cross-quarter days in the year. We are half way to summer in the northern hemisphere and the veils between the worlds are thin.
The FAE or fairies come out and dance in magic forest circles and all of our ancestors are close be. Beltane celebrates fertility and seeding new intentions with magic passion and light. It is a time of joyful invocation, healing, and beginnings.
Beltane is the time to plant all your seeds for future endeavours you wish to actualize and harvest at the end of summer.
Invoke the spirit of these intentions in the time of TAURUS, an earth sign.
Participants light the Beltane fires traditionally on hilltops and jump over it for purification.

the VEIL BETWEEN THE WORLD’S ARE THINNEST just like at Halloween or Samhain, the energy is the same. The Faery Queen goes out riding in the woods tonight.

Dancing around the MAYPOLE is an ancient fertility celebration of the maiden and the horned god who would meet in the dark, make love as strangers, embodying the God and Goddess.

This is the night when Maidens would go wander in the woods, as FLORA, the flowers, NATURE SPRUNG newly born, maiden has nothing to do with virginity or marriage as they are simply young, and eager to mate, as they are in touch with natural sexuality, Nature’s rhythms, to give themselves to a stranger in the woods, the Green Man, also called PAN to the Greeks, the Horned Stag, called Cernunnos, in Latin, he is raw male phallic, sexual energy, virile and youthful.

Children conceived this night are considered to be magical and to belong to the realm of FAIRY as in The MISTS of AVALON. The maidens do not know the man they mate within the sacred marriage ritual.

Couples would also take vows to be in relationships for a year and a day, sort of test driving a relationship to see if they are compatible.

It is considered unlucky to marry in MAY as this month is dedicated to the wedding of the GOD and the GODDESS  alone.

Another important custom is bathing in dew gathered before dawn on Beltane Morn, your beauty will flourish throughout the year. Sprinkled with the dew insures you of health and happiness. Or drinking from the well before dawn of Beltane is also good luck.

Leftover Food from May 1st eve should be left out for the fairies.

We will light our fire tonight. Wishing you all a Blessed Beltane.

Midsummer Rituals, fairies and witches

Fairies, Midsummer, Tara Greene

Midsummer Eve by Edward Robert Hughes Watercolor & gouache on paper 1908

June 20/21st is the Peak of the Sun’s Light, the Masculine FIRE in the Northern Hemisphere. At the day of the longest light and the shortest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. we turn with the Wheel of Time and the Natural Year. The shift begins now to the shortest Days of Light. the FEMININE force ascendS until winter solstice. And round and round the seasons go.

Litha: St. John’s Day, Summer Solstice  begins at 12:24 am EDT/ 4:24 a GMT

The SUN enters CANCER, the 4th sign, cardinal water. In the Tarot, it is associated with Major Arcana #7 THE CHARIOT>

The Fire Festival of Litha

Midsummer’s Eve was believed to be a time when the veil between this world and the next is at its thinnest and when fairies were thought to be at their most powerful. Shakespeare’s famous play is based on ancient pagan beliefs. Party in the woods with some magic mushrooms round the Holly Tree.

Fairies, magic mushrooms, midsummer, witches, Tara Greene

Midsummer/ Summer Solstice is the most powerful day of the year for the Sun Gods. Fire is the predominant element in the celebration. Fire is spirit, action, and passion. Balefires have always been lit on hilltops since very ancient times and still are to provide magical aid to the dying Sun and also used to drive out evil and to bring fertility and prosperity to the people, crops, and herds.  Stonehenge is the most widely known of these ancient calendrical markers. The heel stone marks the midsummer sunrise as seen from the center of the great stone circle.

Magical Aspects

A candle should be lit for the entire day, especially if it is cloudy or raining. The fire represents the Sun and is a constant daily reminder of the power of the Source. Rituals should be performed at noon when the sun is highest and strongest. Many pagans initiate protective amulets which become empowered over the Midsummer balefire.

MIDSUMMER MANIFESTATION RITUALS

From Hearth and Home Witchery

“Make a list of everything you wish to manifest during the next six months. Be complete — include things related to career, personal issues, and other factors like clarity, confidence, and fun. After sunset, light a candle of your choice. Place a vase of flowers you like next to the candle.

Say aloud:

“I gather in the power of this day of greatest light and call in the guardians of fire, earth, air, and water to bring the last grace of power in light to manifest my desires in the coming harvest. I ask that this be

Read aloud your list

“I affirm that I am able and willing to allow these wishes to manifest and I participate in the miracle of
creation and with faith. So mote it be.”

Allow the candle to burn until you go to sleep. Celebrate the energy of the evening in some way –play music, raise a glass, allow yourself some indulgence. ” -From Hearth and Home Witchery

I found this next one on ravenandcrone.com

Ring of Fire Spell
“This spell is based on a little-known solar ritual from the Aegean islands. Long ago on the night before the Summer Solstice, hoops were set ablaze, and the villagers would guide the Sun’s return by jumping
through rings of fire. You can create your own ring of fire with this spell. At dusk, outdoors if possible, light four candles of the appropriate color, one for each season, in a circle. In the center place a gold or yellow candle for the Sun. Light the seasonal candles and say:

“Seasons must turn,
Let the Sun return.”

Light the Sun candle and say:

“Shining One,
Charge me with passion,
Turn my words into action.
It must be!”

Jump over your lit candles if you dare. Meditate on each Season and Thank the Sun for its return as you put out the candles.”

Coupling or handfasting

Midsummer is the time to formalize any relationship. Couples that have been together a year and a day since the previous Beltane can make their marriage final. This Sabbat is also an excellent time to renew wedding vows.

Midsummer Incense

Sage, mint, basil, Saint John’s Wort, sunflower, mistletoe (specifically the berries which represent semen), oak, rowan, and fir.

 Litha foods

The Midsummer Moon is also known as the HONEYMOON, where this term originated. Mead is made, a drink considered to be a magical life enhancing drink. Magical baking and charms are created on this special day. Traditionally this festival spans three days. This year it is June 20-23rd.

Have a Happy Summer or Winter.

The planets are active June 21st.

May Day,stag, Goddess, Fairies

ah May Day, we are mid-way to summer here in the Northern Hemisphere. The Pleiades stars rise before sunrise on the morning horizon.  These 7 sisters are considered to be one  of the main constellations from which our ancestors came.  This is a very special NUMINOUS day.

May Day, Beltane pagan fairy Tara Greene

This is one of the four Non- Cardinal days celebrated since almost time out of mind. These days are the movers and shakers of the wheel of the year.

Beltane begins the eve of, on April 30 the NIGHT BEFORE Beltane. Food left over from April 30 must not be eaten and should be left for the fairies as an offering.

April 30 May eve and Beltane exist in a LIMINAL “no time” when the viels between the worlds are thinnest, just like Halloween, the counterbalance to this festival of conception. The worlds of reality {Saturn}  and magic {Jupiter}  intermingle.

FAIRIES

The Faeries are said to return from their winter rest, full of faery mischief and delight.
It is said that the Queen of the Faeries rides out on her white horse. It is possible to see her as she appears in this world if you call her and seek her out. But be careful not to be tempted to go into the Fairy world.

This is a FERTILITY FIRE FESTIVAL CONCEPTION

Beltane bonfires are lit, and their flames, smoke and ashes have protective powers.  In ancient times people and their cattle would walk around the bonfire or between two bonfires, and sometimes leap over the flames or embers calling out their new intentions. All household fires would be doused and re-lit from Beltane bonfire.

MODERN PAGAN

Walk around candles with your pets. be careful of the fire.

SEXUAL CELEBRATION OF LIFE

The day celebrates the The SACRED MARRIAGE, the Heiros Gamos day, Divine Sexual Union and fertility.

It is the day of the MAY QUEEN and her consort, Cernunnos the horned God/PAN, making love in the fields to fertilize them.

Cernunnos, or PAN, the half goat/human, the sexually potent stag of the forest is one of the main male Gods worshipped this day. He is portrayed with a beard and wild, shaggy hair and he wears a crown of antlers.

FLora, the May Queen is the Goddess of the flowers and the fertile beautiful earth Goddess, she is a young blushing maiden and she is a princess of the fae or fairies.  She was Guinevere in the Arthurian cycle. Offerings are made be wearing a floral crown and milk and honey.

Young lads and lasses would go into the forest at night to make love with a masked stranger acting as the God and Goddess embodied. Children conceived this night would be considered especially blessed and of the Goddess, to have special psychic powers. . These children would be born around Feb 1st.

The day of the dance around the May Pole with participants weaving the web of life as they interconnect their ribbons. The original May pole must have been a living tree, symbolizing the Tree of Life.

BELTANE RITUAL

Be outside for Beltane if you can. If not then  use lots of candles, or a table-top brazier. A small cast iron cauldron on a  tile can be used to.

Weave ribbons together or bread or paper.

Have fruits symbols of sweetness, like cherries, pomegranates, peaches or apples.

Have lots of flowers too. make garlands.

CELEBRATE> Make love, dance since, drum, be joyous.

If you are single  don’t worry or be sad. {and I am married but will be in Sedona on my own}. Call in your Beloved, the Sacred Marriage partner to be with you.  Do tantric breathing exercise to open your chakras. You can do fire-breathing to experience orgasms.  This is a celebration of the beauty of human sexuality and divine love. Imagine your beloved being with you. Put out the intention that you are united with your beloved, ask them to materialize in the next 9 months.

Leave offerings to the fairies.

I will be doing ceremony here in Sedona and sending you all Blessings. I went to a Beltane sound healing ritual here led by an amazing musicians who calls himself Three Trees. I have been to a few other of his sessions. It was amazing,  like a drug trip with no drugs. Like a Holotropic breathwork journey.  The intention was to bring in new energy, will, fire passion and to fertilize that. Also to send out the energy to the world. As each one of us does our own individual work we help to heal the world. Three Trees plays drums, didgeridoo, flutes, hang drums, sings and chants. He has a beautiful voice and seems to sing in ancient unknown languages.

Three Trees played a didgeridoo that had last been played in the King’s Chamber in Egypt. The chamber room resonated to the key of B. which is the CROWN CHAKRA and I saw this in my vision and then he spoke about it.  Tone B and visualize your crown chakra opening.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream, sex, fairies,fools

JUNE 20 a MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM

“Lord what fools these mortals be”- Puck

Midsummer Liltha Tara Greene Edward Robert Hughes

Midsummer Eve by Edward Robert Hughes 1908

This evening, the night before the Summer Solstice is the Famous one Shakespeare wrote about. A day of sexual frolicking in the fields. The fairies are out in the forests. The SUN reaches his PEAK in the sky and begins to slowly wain and die.  He surrenders his power to the GODDESS the Queen of SUMMER and fertility who makes the plants grow to feed her children and to ensure new life.

This Year Moon conjuncts Venus and JUPITER in LEO so very romantic, proud, daring, dramatic, big-hearted it will be.

Mercury is finally over its storm period but will take till June 27 to pass its Retrograde station point.

SUMMER BEGINS in the Northern Hemisphere @ 9:37 am PDT/12:37 pm EDT/4:37 GMT
WINTER BEGINS in the Southern Hemisphere same time

The Sun King reaches the peak of his long journey begun Dec 21st. Called Litha by pagans and witches it is the Celebration of the triumph of the Light which also signifies its demise. The Light dies unto itself and sets sail into the oncoming fall. It is the Celebration of the Longest Light and Night and the Birth of the Season of Summer bringing the greatest vegetation growth.
Astrologically it is the Sun entering zero degrees of Cancer which marks the Summer Solstice. We Celebrate the Summer, romp in the Garden, Have a Solstice Celebration!

Wear a flower crown in your hair. Bonfires are built.  At Summer Solstice we state what it is we are pregnant with, nourishing, nurturing feeding,  our literal children or our creations, ideas, desires, feelings. We carry this and give birth, and the fields, flowers, produce grows, soaks up the sun’s most intense rays in Leo and is finally ready to be Harvested under the sign of Virgo the Virgin Goddess of the Grain. In agricultural societies all life depended on the food grown, the produce that would be stored, dried, preserved, for life to continue safely and securely.

The sign of Cancer rules the Mother and the mothering principle, ruled by the Moon herself. The Moon is the Goddess and women’s cycles. The earliest calendars discovered showed 28 dots on them and were created by menstruating women most likely or men following the moon’s  and women’s menstrual cycles. The moon means time.

Cancer is water, the womb, feelings, emotions, moods, instincts, the oceans, wells, home, safety, security, emotional needs, food, nurturing, safety, security, nurses, caretakers, support workers, caves, river deltas, roots, nests, the root chakra, the womb, memories, the Unconscious, your childhood, flow, the Goddess Diana, all Moon Goddesses, and all Female Goddesss pregnant with the Moon.

In the Tarot Cancer is the Sign associated with Tarot Trump # 7 THE CHARIOT

The Chariot Cancer Astrology Tarot Tara Greene

The Chariot Tarot Horse Goddess by Emily Balivet

In Ancient Egypt the Summer Sign was symbolized by the Scarab beetle before it was associated with the Crab. The scarab or dung beetle rolling a ball of dung and was seen to be like a God rolling the golden orb of the Sun across the skies. The dung beetle was the shepherd or charioteer assisting the Sun’s passage in the sky. The scarab is a symbol of immortality.  The sign of Cancer symbolized alchemy because the insect was a lowly creature, ordinary, lowly turning with its’ labours dung into worth = gold.

The esoteric meaning of Cancer is that the CHARIOT is the VEHICLE, the means of travel. The Chariot symbolizes the Body as Vehicle for the Soul.  Our Mother’s bodies were our personal chariot’s. They nurtured and carried us, gave birth to us through their vaginas, also  a road, a passageway, a tunnel to the outside world from inner earth. The Hopi Indians say they emerged from inside of the earth.

Mother is the Universal source for all life, When we gaze at the moon we instinctively remember her womb.

So during the month of Cancer, feel your feelings and your body. Be near water, drink lots of water, feel pregnant,  swelling, expanding, bonded, needing to nest, eating well, resting, listening to your tummy.

Like the lotus which grows from mud, and the lowly dung beetle which rolls its ball of dung, the beautiful iridescent moon like pearl  is formed from a single grain of sand. You won’t be lacklustre during Cancer month. You can turn every irritating or single grain of sand into a beautiful pearl.

Sacred sex, Fairy’s, Beltane, May Day, the New Masculine

April 30 tonight its time to go romping in the woods. It’s Walpurgis night, the night before May 1st, Beltane.

The VEIL BETWEEN THE WORLD’S ARE THINNEST just like at Halloween, the energy is the same.We are at the opposite pole of Death, this is the celebration of sexuality and Life.

The Faery Queen goes out a riding in the woods tonight.   It’s a magical bewitching  Night.

This is a special night of SACRED SEXUAL LIASONS.

Beltane fire sex pagan Celebration

Beltane  May 1st, is a traditional Fertility and Sacred Marriage Festival of the Sun to the Earth. It means “fire of Bel” or “bright fire” – the “bale-fire”. (English – bale; Anglo-Saxon bael; is the known as the bright and shinning one, a Celtic Sun God. Beli is the father, protector, and the husband of the Mother Goddess. The Bel fire is a sacred fire with healing and purifying powers. The ashes of the Beltane fires were smudged on faces and scattered in the fields. Household fires would be extinguished and re-lit with fresh fire from the Bel Fires.

THE MAY POLE/Phallic symbol

Dancing around the MAY POLE is a very ancient fertility celebration of the maiden Goddess and the horned god who would meet in the dark, make love as strangers, a young girl embodying the Goddess Divine and her young consort. He is Cernunos, PAN to the Greeks, the young virile, sexual, phallic God of fertility, the stag. Guys still have stag parties.  We are celebrating the Positive Goddess worshipping Strong hunter the Green Man. The Catholic Church made him into the Horny Devil. In the Tarot he is #15 the Devil .

The ancient had no morals on life’s necessities. Children conceived this night were considered magical and to belong to the realm of the FAIRY or Fey.  Couples would also take vows to be in relationships for a year and a day, sort of test driving a relationship to see if they are compatible.

It is considered unlucky to marry in MAY as this month is dedicated to the wedding of the GOD and the GODDESS alone.

PLEIADES

Beltane is marked in the Heavens as the rising of the Pleiades star cluster just before sunrise on the morning horizon, winter (Samhain/Halloween) begins when the Pleiades rises at sunset. The Pleiades is a cluster of seven closely placed stars, the seven sisters, in the constellation of Taurus, they can be easily seen with the naked eye. The Pleiades were very important to many ancient cultures worldwide. Some Native American tribes say that their Ancestors were Star Beings who came from the Pleiades. Many psychics channeled  the Pleiadians. I do too.

THE WHEEL OF TIME and our participation

The Ancients participated in Time’s unfolding, they believed that the Wheel of Time would not turn without human intervention. It is vitally important for us to reconnect and to honour these Ancient Nature Festivals, as we are so disconnected from the earth and the natural world. The modern world and all of its hi-tec tools disconnects us from Nature directly.  We may feel more like orphans than children of the earth. Not so long ago when we lived off the land, grew our own and harvested our own food we needed to be directly in touch with Mother Nature herself to survive. That will always be true.

If we’re not in Right Relationship with Nature then woe be to those who feel her wrath- and we have- Hurricane Katrina, tsunami’s, earthquakes, mudslides, drought, flooding etc. There was an old margarine commercial “It’s not nice to fool with Mother Nature” We’ve been coerced into fooling with Mother Nature even more with dangerous GMO seeds from Monsanto.

Another important Beltane custom is bathing in dew gathered before dawn on Beltane Morn, your beauty will flourish throughout the year. Sprinkled with the dew insures you of health and happiness. Drinking from the well before dawn of Beltane is also good luck.

THE HORNED GOD, is a powerful symbol and needs to be honored as a harbinger of the New masculine.

“If a man had been created in

the horned God’s image

he would be free to be wild,

without being cruel,

angry without being violent,

sexual without being coercive

spiritual without being unsexed,

and truly able to love. “– Starhawk, The Spiral Dance

MODERN RITUAL

If you can’t manage a bonfire, simply lighting a small fire will do. Intention is everything, so light a small fire in your home safely, write down what it is you want to dispel from your life and burn it in the flames. Or you could do a Jack be nimble Jack be quick and jump over a candle on the floor, very carefully for luck. If you are in a partnership cleanse it of disharmony, rekindle your vows. Drink water empowered with Love by focusing on sending love to even a glass of water or a pitcher of water, as Dr, Emoto. Empower the water with love and pour it on yourself your plants, your garden your threshold, your loved ones. Festoon your doorknobs with flowers, or hang flowers outside your home.

DANCE

Dancing around a Maypole may not be easily done these days, so simply imagine the May Pole the ancient boys and girls with the colored ribbons in their hands interweaving in and out to form the spiral pattern around the pole. Enjoy, celebrate, send prayers to the Sun and the Mother Earth. Dance with the Faeries, invite them into your home and your heart.

Participating with the thousands of neo-pagans, witches and all other indigenous people s at this time helps boost the energy. Left over Food from May 1st eve should be left out for the fairies.
