Its Nov. 26 Moon entered Scorpio early today where we encounter, death, change, transformation and deep shadows and emotions. We get soulful. Its Venus and Pluto and JUPITER in a tight T-square of valuable soul riches versus superficial values. Women’s depth strength and values must be brought in to bring peace, balance and creativity. 

Fidel Castro died last night at age 90. My family and I visited Cuba about 6 years ago. Canada has always had open relations with Cuba and it was mainly Canadian, European and South American tourists who have vacationed there since they opened to tourism and 49% foreign investments as a way to survive after the fall of Russia in the early 1990’s.  We are very aware of the communist suppression going on and the poverty yet compared to the illiteracy, total poverty, and the difficult feudal impoverished lives Cubans had pre-Revolution they seemed to be doing quite well. We found the Cubans to be quite amazing people, very proud with great spirits. The problem is with free education and health care they have no room to expand. Doctors made less money than those who worked in Hotels. There were police or security guards watching out for everything all the time.  Now there are cell phone and I don’t know what it is like since Americans have been allowed in freely. It felt like it was the safest place I had ever been.  We loved it. 

I was wondering what the astrology chart of a man who had single-handedly fought against America, and at such a close range, and then survived the collapse of Russia and had outlived 638 assassination attempts looked like. So here it is. 

The great Communist leader and dictator would of course have to be a LEO, with JUPITER Retrograde in AQUARIUS expanding the higher ideals of the planet of revolution, freedom, and staunch-no backing down, opposite to his naturally the leader Sun. Mercury Retrograde in Leo too. Someone who brings REvolution and redistributes policies. NEPTUNE was also in LEO conjunct to VESTA and his SUN. CASTRO was an idealist, a dreamer, of redistributing the wealth.

Castro was the son of a wealthy landowner, and studied law before creating  a band of fellow revolutionaries to overthrow Batista, Cuba’s dictator who had extensive links to the American mafia and other business interests.

This is an accurate birth time and his Moon was in LIBRA the sign or rebalancing and justice. With Venus in Cancer and Mars in Taurus conjunct to Chiron, Castro really loved his Motherland. He felt her pain and the people’s suffering deeply. He was motivated by altruistic ideals.

Some saw him as a proud papa leadership others his totalitarian dictator side.

Scorpio is secrets, crime, the Mafia, laundered money, power, absolute control, stealth, the ability to analyze in great depth, death and rebirth. Castro survived 638 assassination attempts on his life through poisoning, exploding cigars by the CIA numerous times, the mafia,and ex-lovers. “If surviving assassination attempts were an Olympic event, I would win the gold medal.”said Castro. A SUN in LEO Jupiter in AQUARIUS Saturn in SCORPIO T-square would certainly enable anyone to be so strong willed, so detached, so fearless, that they would be pretty much immortal and immune to anything that came at them.

Very rarely do PLUTO and the NORTH NODE and SIRIUS connect. CASTRO definitely had the mark of being a significant world leader and life changer of millions of people.

Yes the grandfather of the Revolution for sure. ONe who wielded total power and control The iron fist in the kid glove.Even though millions of Cubans fled his totalitarian regime Castro brought social security, food, better life expectancy and infant mortality rates to his people. He really felt like he was the benefactor and Good father. URANUS in PISCES at the almost last degree of the Zodiac is very interesting. Indicating Castro was one of the last of his kind and almost completed his karmic incarnations in this lifetime. He was always a controversial figure. 

CASTRO’s death had been talked about for years. His health had been failing since 2008. At his death, it was a good death. Chiron in PISCES right on his MC, the place of worldly fame. The PLUTO- JUPITER- VENUS T-squares exactly on his North and South NODES.  Jupiter and the Moon right on his Natal Moon. He was going to a higher place and back to source which he came in from. An exalted death. Very regal. 

I am not condoning or putting him down. May he RIP. It will be interesting to see how his brother Raoul handles the country. With a recent opening with the U.S. the question is, with Trump vowing to shut down everything Obama did, will he close up the doors with Cuba? Or will Trump see this as a golden opportunity to put up some new hotels in Cuba?

May he RIP. History will tell. As he famously said himself “Condemn me it does not matter History will absolve me. “

Cuba U.S. relations reborn, Cigars anyone?

In the news- never a dull moment. President Obama announced a new era of relations with Communist Cuba after 56 years. 56 = 8 x 7 which is like a second Saturn return.  Two x 28. The old cold war trade embargoes haven’t worked. The Pope [!]  and Canada were partly involved in facilitating and assisting in an American prisoner being  released. Canada has maintained open trade with Cuba all these years. America will re-open an embassy and Americans will be allowed to travel and bring back Cuban cigars, rum and other goods to the U.S. 

Uranus and Pluto and Saturn are at it again.

I have been to Cuba and found the people to be very Gemini like, open, charming, innocent exuberant, curious, idealistic and proud of their ability to stand alone in the world. 

Venus at the mid- degree of Aries and Mars is in Taurus. Both planets are debilitated in each others signs and in mutual reception. Women are very strong and independent in Cuba. Mars is action and relates to cars,Mars in Taurus symbolizes the antique preserved cars in Cuba born out of necessity. Mars in Taurus is more passive. It delights in the paradise of the Island. Taurus is indolentdoesnt like change. Cubans  lover of music, dance, creativity and the arts, farming and resourcefulness.

The Uranus Pluto square of Monday December 15, sees the two planets transiting exactly on Cuba’s Venus in the 8th house! This is the Scorpio house of rebirth, death, taxes, recycling, of other people’s money. Yes a New revolutionary wave has hit Cuba again. This is invigorating and infuses new technology to its economy, status, values and culture.

Pluto in the 5th house is squaring Venus and also conjunction Cuba’s Natal Chiron, where it is most vulnerable, wounded but which also holds the greatest healing at 14 degrees Capricorn. Big money, corporations and power will start to flow into Cuba from American tourism, new infrastructure, hotels and business ventures which brings rebirth and new life.

Saturn is exactly opposite Cuba’s SUN, changing the serious role of Cuba on the world’s stage. These are sobering heavy realities for Cubans which will be another type of test.. The test will be how much it limits itself and how it retains its history, laws and  ideology as it matures into a new karmic evolutionary stage. Jupiter will also square Saturn and Cuba’s Sun next August.  I believe communist consumerism will work in Cuba the way it has in China. 

Jupiter in Leo in the 12th house is opposite Cuba’s natal Jupiter and squaring its Mars in Taurus in the 9th house. This is always expansive, opportune, good fortune but not openly visible. The heart of the peoples’ will is what will propel Cuba’s future forward. Jupiter is travel, and tourism has saved Cuba. Many players will by jockeying for position. There will be new educational learning curves and much exports of cigars as a status symbol. Jupiter will cross Cuba’s Ascendant next August 13, 2015 that will be  like a butterfly emerging from a long chrysalis stage in its full beauty.

Neptune is Trining Cuba’s North Node at 4 degrees Scorpio from the 7th house of relationships with all ‘others.” Cuba will have to be very careful of wearing those rose colored glasses as it may idealize the dream. Neptune rules glamour, all the illusory stuff of Hollywood and American consumer culture.  Neptune also rules drugs, addictions, gambling,and debt. We don’t want Cuba to go this route.This was part of what Cuba’s revolution took place against. Cuba did not sell out in the past that is one of its strengths and goals to be obsessively Scorpio strong in its unwavering desire.

Get ready to cha-cha. Smoke big cigars and see those beautiful 50’s imported cars being sold for bug bucks. Viva Cuba.

Hugo Chavez, dictator or socialist leader,Astrology tell all

I find it fascinating to look into a public figure’s astrology,I seem to do quite a lot of these obituary readings.

Chavez rule was characterized as being extreme. He was popularly voted for and was no dictator, most Venezuelan’s lives benefitted greatly from Chavez’s rule. What’s the problem with that?  He is hated just because he socialized and nationalized his own countries resources? We should do that in Canada.

He is loved and hated in equal measure. Not bowing down to U.S. supremacy, Chavez was a leftist socialist pragmatic idealist, with strong ties to Cuba, and  Bolivia, he accomplished a Herculean task for the ordinary Venezuelan citizen in his 13 years at leader.

When elected in 1999 he called a public referendum with indigenous tribal groups to rewrite the Nation’s constitution.Something pretty unheard of in the world.

The country was renamed the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in honor of Simon Bolivar.

At the beginning of 2000 Venezuela was the 5th largest Oil producing country in the world. since Chavez took office the state nationalized more than 50% of the oil companies in Venezuela.

He criticized the U.S. policy on Terrorism. After 9/11 Chávez showed pictures of Afghan children killed in a bomb attack on his own local television show. He commented that “They are not to blame for the terrorism of Osama Bin Laden or anyone else”, and called on the American government to end “the massacre of the innocents. Terrorism cannot be fought with terrorism.”  These remarks were widely publicized and made him into a popular American enemy. He was only telling the truth.

Chavez did not ruin the Venezuelan economy. He was not a dictator. That is lies spread by American media who want Venezuela’s oil rights back. He was a total populist leader who instituted fraud proof modern voting.

IN 2002 there were mass rallies against his regime. In spite of shutting down tv stations that opposed him and cozying up to certain despots, Chavez tempered down his policies in response.

Despite these criticisms, . Under the Chávez presidency, rates of poverty in Venezuela were slashed; education, public infrastructure and health services were dramatically improved; the economy improved and unemployment declined rapidly. Infant mortality rate declined. 22 state universities were built. The GNI went from $3,763 in 1999 and by 2011 it had risen to $11,820. a three-fold growth per-capita wealth in the space of 12 years is amazing. No country on earth has ever amassed a better life for her people in such a short period.

WHO WAS HUGO CHAVEZ? 

I don’t have an exact birth time but use Noon for  a public figure. Chavez was born in a small town to a working class family.
