Gemini Season is double-double

Ruled by the fancy fleet-footed, hatted and sandaled messenger of the Gods – MERCURY, known as HERMES to the Greeks and THOTH to the Egyptians. 

A whole lotta Gemini going on with Venus Retrograde, Mercury until the 28th, Vesta and the North Node at 29 degrees. It’s a double-double double Gemini season. 

MERCURY used to be in thermometers, whose properties made it hard to pin down, describe Gemini’s energies perfectly. Quicksilver is also a toxic poison and a well known Alchemical metal as well. Mercury’s metal is Mercury or QUICKSILVER like Gemini energies. The Quicksilver Messanger Service were a band in the 60’s. Mercury is a PSYCHOPOMP. I love that word able to enter and leave the Land of the Dead, Hades or the Underworld. Few had this power.

Mercury’s symbol is the caduceus. Not just an FTD Florist symbol, every MD in the world uses the caduceus to signify the healing profession of MEDICINE. The caduceus was originally employed by Chiron and Asclepius as snakes were used to help heal people in Ancient Greece and Snakes were used in the Oracles at DELPHI. Considered to be magical animals of the Goddess since always, two snakes entwined around the central staff or spine is KUNDALINI sexual energy.  The caduceus is an ancient symbol of DNA; symbolizes the twin poles of consciousness, balance and the combining of opposites as in ALCHEMY to produce something entirely new. This is a deep psychological image associated with GEMINI and mental health. not usually associated with this sign.

Gemini is a dual AIR sign and they never get old as long as their minds are stimulated.  Mercury is the frequent flyer and chief communicator between Mount Olympus, the above, the Conscious and the below.

Nirvana Day, Libra moon, cardinal crosses

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s day. 

FEB 15 is known as NIRVANA DAY. Not the grunge band with Kurt Cobain, it is sacred to Buddhists and Hindu‘s.

What is NIRVANA? In Buddhism, it is a transcendent state where there is no suffering, or desires, and no ego or sense of self. Once reaching that state of awareness, one is released from the effects of karma and the cycle of death and rebirth. It represents the final goal of Buddhism.

In Indian religions, nirvana is synonymous with moksha. In Vedic culture, moksha conveys a notion of immortality, and also of a timeless, “unborn”, or “the still point of the turning world of time”.  It also means a timeless structure, the whole underlying “the spokes of the invariable but incessant wheel of time”.  The hope for life after death started with notions of going to the worlds of the Fathers or Ancestors and/or the world of the Gods or Heaven and liberation.  All Indian religions assert Nirvana to be a state of perfect quietude, freedom, highest happiness and along with it, the liberation from samsara, the repeating cycle of birth, life and death.

Buddhism is not a belief system, it is a practice that enables us to stop struggling and to be liberated.

Nirvana is no place

The various schools of Buddhism understand nirvana in different ways, but they generally agree that nirvana is not a place. It is more a state of existence. The Buddha said that anything we might say or imagine about nirvana will be wrong, because it is utterly different from our ordinary existence. Nirvana is beyond space, time, and definition, and so language is by definition inadequate to discuss it. It can only be experienced. Samsara or illusion is a process of creating places, even whole worlds, (and then wandering through them, the Buddhists call this, birth. Nirvana is the end of this process of mind forms.

There are two types of Nirvana.  One type describes a living enlightened being, or arahant. The arahant is still conscious of pleasure and pain, but he or she is no longer bound to them. The second type is final,complete Nibbana or Nirvana that is “entered” at death. The Buddha taught that this state is neither existence because that which can be said to exist is limited to time and space-nor non-existence. This seeming paradox is because ordinary language attempts to describe a state of being that is indescribable. 

Mahayana Buddhism and Nirvana

One of the distinguishing characteristics of Mahayana Buddhism is the bodhisattva vow. This is something I have taken many times. Mahayana Buddhists are dedicated to the ultimate enlightenment of all beings, and thus choose to remain in the world in assistance to others rather than move on to individual enlightenment. 

On the apparent real levels;

The LIBRA MOON of fairness and balance, and hopefully some peace lines us up with those CARDINAL CROSSESS again. Which we feel and know yet they are also an illusion but a symbol and guidmap. 

The Moon is conjunct PLUTO at 2:58 am EST, opposes Uranus and conjuncts JUPITER all before noon in PST and EST. That’s the feel-good transit. Don’t get too overly optimistic though.

Bipolar Gemini Time Astrology by Tara Greene

Sun enters the 1st Air Sign May 20 @ 7:36 am PDT/10:36 am EDT/2:36 pm GMT.

Gemini the sign of the naturally bi-polar TWINS, known as a “FUN da MENTAL”  sign. I made that up years ago. It’s a fast paced sign and month of mind games, light-headed, shall we say Air Head? Social butterfly, changing partners, do- see doe-ing, dodging being committed, all the while smiling charmingly in general. I mean no harm to bipolar people and their suffering.

GEMINI is Ruled by that fancy hatted and shoe’d fleet- footed messenger of the Gods –MERCURY, the planet. MERCURY is  consciousness, intelligence, analysis, communications. Our minds have two sides, two lobes, that’s why Mercury is a dual sign. 

Because MERCURY is RETROGRADE in TAURUS as Sun enters GEMINI and almost at standstill turning Direct May 22nd, the energy will be kind of at a standstill for the weekend, inspite of a Sagittarius FUll Moon.  It would be wise to wait till June 7th before really initiating anything new, when Mercury is back to 23+ degrees Taurus on June 7 and bypassed it’s Retrograde degree.

Venus will enter GEMINI May 24 and oppose Mars on the same day-

We will be loving all that duality. The polarity will get stronger.

the times they are getting serious. Gemini is a time of splitting hairs, fractiousness will get stronger in politics.

Things are tense but adaptable. This is during the big primaries in the U.S. 

June 6 SUN Conjuncts VENUS in the SACRED MARRIAGE, Superior Conjunction at 16 degrees GEMINI.

Venus is in the Underworld already and invisible to us for a while now. This is the same star point in Venus cycle as 8 years ago or 4 years ago at the famous Venus transit of the Sun in 2012 with Venus Retrograde. Doesn’t that seem like aeons ago?
