buddy of Jack Kerouac of On The Road Fame.

HOWL his most famous poem was the subject of an obscenity trial in 1957 which the judge Judge Clayton W. Horn ruled that “Howl” was not obscene, adding, “Would there be any freedom of press or speech if one must reduce his vocabulary to vapid innocuous euphemisms?” exactly Ginsberg’s point.

Thanks for championing poetry freedom and intelligence in America and in the world. I saw you read a live I am quitting smoking routine in New York years ago. It was wonderful to be in your esteemed presence.
