Truly rare, this hasn’t happened in 492 years.

On October 7, we will have a truly rare cosmic occurrence that you should know about. I know all of the sites that tout ” very rare.. black moon ” as click bait when it isn’t true at all.

Firstly Mercury crosses the zero degree LIBRA point which highlights all the zero degree CARDINAL points indicating many new beginnings.  A pivotal consciousness shift preceding the rare event. Mercury in Libra puts the conversation onto relationships, love, justice, balance and women.

The Sun will square PLUTO at the 15th and most powerful degree of LIBRA and CAPRICORN on October 7th @ 12:33 pm PDT/ 3:33 pm EDT/ 7:33 pm GMT.

Sun squares PLUTO/ Shiva, the supreme “creator, destroyer, and regenerator”

The 15th degree is the exact middle of all 30-degree signs. It is the most powerful.

The last exact square between the Sun at the 15°degree of Libra and Pluto at 15°degrees Capricorn happened on September 28th, 1524- 492 years ago!  The last one closest to those degrees was with the Sun at 14 degrees Libra and Pluto at 14 degrees CAPRICORN on October 6, 1769, 247 years ago. 

The island of Manhattan was sighted for the first time on April 17, 1524 by Verrazzano. 

1769 was the Venus transit observed from Tahiti by James Cook along with a Total solar eclipse. California missions are founded in San Diego, San Francisco, Monterey and Santa Barbara. Clearly these degrees and the rare square by Pluto and the Sun mark very powerful turning points in our collective unconscious, which Pluto rules. 

The Moon is Void of course at the SUN PLUTO square, indicating that we need to take time out and meditate on what the ghost of these potent degrees signifies for you and your part in the ongoing evolution of consciousness.

The MOON enters CAPRICORN at 1:40 pm PDT/ 4:40 pm EDT/ 8:40 pm GMT and aligns with the CARDINAL point again. 

This about new beginnings on all levels. Align yourself with the four elements which the Cardinal points anchor. 

These are pivotal times we are living in. We must bring the Light of the SUN, Christ Consciousness, Divine Light energies,”the woman clothed with the SUN” as spoken about in Revelations and balance it with our souls.

We must align our highest inspirational, life-affirming consciousness with the entropy of the Universe as well as the death and rebirth constants and still know ourselves as infinite.

We need to shape-shift with the Collective Unconscious and our souls focus here on the earth plane that Pluto in Capricorn represents.  We must balance the light with the dark, that is Libra’s challenge. It is the challenge of all duality. What is your part in the great balancing act?

Litha Midsummer Night celebration recipes

June 20 is the Peak of the MASCULINE FIRE in the Northern Hemisphere. And at the longest night of the year in the North everything shifts as the DARKNESS and the FEMININE begins to grow stronger until December 21st when the powers are switched again. This is the balance of everything that exists in the Universe. 

As Summer begins in the North we are repleat with gardens, strawberries, roses, greenery everywhere and heat. The Goddess is symbolically Pregnant with the child she conceived March 21.  Venus is also in Cancer at this Solstice and the Moon will oppose Venus @ 11:51 a.m PDT/2:51 pm EDT, 6:51 pm GMT.

Traditional symbols for Midsummer

The Bonfire

Bonfires are lit on tops of hills, by holy wells, and at a sacred place, to honor the fullness of the Sun. People danced around and leap through the flames. Traditionally people stayed up all night on Midsummer’s Eve to welcome the sunrise. Coals from the Midsummer fire were scattered on fields to ensure a good harvest you can scatter them in your garden

The Midsummer Moon is also known as the HONEY MOON, where this term originated. Mead is made, handfasting ceremonies are performed. Mead is considered to be a magical life enhancing drink,

You can make an alter to  honor the Oak tree, with their leaves. Sunflowers are also a great example. 

Magical baking and charms are created on this special day. Traditionally this festival spans three days.This year it is June 20-23rd.

Buttermilk Bread 

To bring abundance to your kitchen. Sunflower seeds represent the light half of the year and the poppy seeds represent the dark half of the year.

You will need:

3 cups of  white flour, preferably bread flout type.

500 ml of Buttermilk 

I tsp.of bicarbonate of soda

Sunflower and poppy seeds for sprinking

Red ribbon and a sprig of rosemary

Place the flour in a large bowl. Make a well in the centre. Sieve in the blended salt and soda and pour in the buttermilk. Mix well with a wooden spoon until the dough feels springy. If it feels too sloppy just add a little more flour. Turn it onto a board and cover with a fine dusting of flour. Pat it with your hands until you have a round shape. Take a sharp knife and score lightly into eight sections, one for each festival. Sprinkle half of the loaf with poppy seeds and the other half with sunflower seeds.

Place onto a greased baking tray and pop your buttermilk bread into a moderate oven for about 20-25 minutes. Keep and eye on it. When the bread is ready it will change colour and it will sound hollow when you tap the bottom. Cool completely on a wire rack. When it is cool, place your sprig of rosemary on top and tie the red ribbon across the middle.

Consecrate the bread by turning the loaf three times saying “From the fields and through the stones, into fire, Midsummer Bread, as the Wheel turns may all be fed. Goddess Bless.”

Take your bread and share it with your family, friends or whoever you would like to bless.  Eat it fresh, as soon as it is made if you can. 
Elderflower Champagne

Elderflowers peak at Midsummer. Pick them in the fullness of a sunny day, ideally on Midsummer’s Day. The Elder is sacred to the Mother Goddess and is often called the Witch’s Tree, the Elder Mother, or Queen of the Trees. It is protective with wonderful healing properties. It aids transformation, change and renewal,this drink will aid in transforming your life.

Ingredients:

8 litres water

1.25 kg sugar

8 large elderflower heads

4 lemons

4 tablespoons mild white wine vinegar

Do use screw top bottles. Large plastic bottles are good. This is a fizzy drink, if not bottled tightly it can explode! Keep it somewhere safe. Make sure the elderflowers are clean and pick them when the sun is strongest. 

Boil the water and dissolve the sugar into it , organic sugar is best.

When the water cools, add the elderflowers,the  juice of two of the lemons and slices of the other two, plus the vinegar.

Cover with a clean cloth and leave for a day.

Strain through a fine sieve or piece of muslin, carefully squeezing the flowers to extract as much flavour as possible.

Store in clean screw top bottles.

Leave alone for 10 days or so. Drink within a month. Enjoy and give thanks to the Spirit of the Elder.
Honey Cake

A celebration of a sweet life. 

If you can source locally produced honey its the best. Wherever it comes from always thank the precious Bees. 

Ingredients:

225 gram Butter 1 cup
250 gms Honey or 1 cup 
100 gms Dark Muscovado Sugar, 3.5 ounces by weight 
3 Eggs, beaten
300 gms Self-Raising Flour, 1 1/2 cups 

Cut the butter into pieces and heat slowly, adding the honey and the sugar. When fully melted, turn up the heart and boil the mixture for one minute. Remove from the heat and allow to cool. Add the beaten eggs to the cooled honey mixture. Sift the flour into a large bowl and beat the liquid honey mixture into it until you have a smooth batter. Pour the mixture into a round lined sponge tin and bake in a preheated oven at 160 C for about 50 mins – or until the cake is well-risen and springs back to the touch. Cool on a rack and glaze with a few tablespoons of warm honey. A nice sweet treat. 

FULL Moon Bowl Charm

A full moon charm to enhance your natural radiance to celebrate the beauty of Midsummer.

You will need: A glass or china bowl, a glass or china jug and a small white candle. Remember the candle needs to burn away completely so choose a small one.

Put water into your jug- rainwater is best, but fresh water from the tap is fine. Take the jug of water, the bowl and the small white candle outside and place them on the ground. Light the candle in a suitable holder and place it at the top of the bowl – at the midnight/noon point of a clock face. Pour the water into the centre of the bowl and say:

“Renewing water shining bright

Weave your charm in my bowl of Light”

Place your Moon Bowl in the moonlight so the light of the full moon is reflected in the water and leave the candle to burn down.

When this is complete take your bowl and dip your hands into the water and as you gently splash the moon water onto your face say

“By Full Moon charm,

By Full Moon light,

May inner beauty shine through tonight.

Brightest Blessings of the Goddess shine through me.”

When you have finished, return the water to the Earth. I always pour it on my favourite Holly Tree.

May Day,stag, Goddess, Fairies

ah May Day, we are mid-way to summer here in the Northern Hemisphere. The Pleiades stars rise before sunrise on the morning horizon.  These 7 sisters are considered to be one  of the main constellations from which our ancestors came.  This is a very special NUMINOUS day. 

This is one of the four Non- Cardinal days celebrated since almost time out of mind. These days are the movers and shakers of the wheel of the year.

Beltane begins the eve of, on April 30 the NIGHT BEFORE Beltane. Food left over from April 30 must not be eaten and should be left for the fairies as an offering.  

April 30 May eve and Beltane exist in a LIMINAL “no time” when the viels between the worlds are thinnest, just like Halloween, the counterbalance to this festival of conception.The worlds of reality {Saturn}  and magic {Jupiter}  intermingle.

FAIRIES

The Faeries are said to return from their winter rest, full of faery mischief and delight. 
It is said that the Queen of the Faeries rides out on her white horse. It is possible to see her as she appears in this world if you call her and seek her out. But be careful not to be tempted to go into the Fairy world.

Young lads and lasses would go into the forest at night to make love with a masked stranger acting as the God and Goddess embodied. Children conceived this night would be considered especially blessed and of the Goddess, to have special psychic powers. . These children would be born around Feb 1st.  

The day of the dance around the May Pole with participants weaving the web of life as they interconnect their ribbons. The original May pole must have been a living tree, symbolizing the Tree of Life.

BELTANE RITUAL

Be outside for Beltane if you can. If not then  use lots of candles, or a table-top brazier. A small cast iron cauldron on a  tile can be used to. 

Weave ribbons together or bread or paper. 

Have fruits symbols of sweetness, like cherries, pomegranates, peaches or apples. 

Have lots of flowers too. make garlands. 

CELEBRATE> Make love, dance since, drum, be joyous.

If you are single  don’t worry or be sad. {and I am married but will be in Sedona on my own}. Call in your Beloved, the Sacred Marriage partner to be with you.  Do tantric breathing exercise to open your chakras. You can do fire-breathing to experience orgasms.  This is a celebration of the beauty of human sexuality and divine love. Imagine your beloved being with you. Put out the intention that you are united with your beloved, ask them to materialize in the next 9 months.

Leave offerings to the fairies.

I will be doing ceremony here in Sedona and sending you all Blessings. I went to a Beltane sound healing ritual here led by an amazing musicians who calls himself Three Trees. I have been to a few other of his sessions. It was amazing,  like a drug trip with no drugs. Like a Holotropic breathwork journey.  The intention was to bring in new energy, will, fire passion and to fertilize that. Also to send out the energy to the world. As each one of us does our own individual work we help to heal the world. Three Trees plays drums, didgeridoo, flutes, hang drums, sings and chants. He has a beautiful voice and seems to sing in ancient unknown languages. 

Three Trees played a didgeridoo that had last been played in the King’s Chamber in Egypt. The chamber room resonated to the key of B. which is the CROWN CHAKRA and I saw this in my vision and then he spoke about it.  Tone B and visualize your crown chakra opening.

Seven to do’s because it’s Saturn Retrograde

ISHTAR, ASTARTE , TARA, OESTRE ancient Goddesses of fertility were honored with symbols of hares, sacred to the Moon, the lunar monthly fertility counter, and rabbits which are very fertile. WHAT’s IT ALL ABOUT?

We are going into DEJA VU time, as the Great wheel of time slows and appears to revolve backwards until August 14th where Saturn will be at 9 degrees 47 minutes of Sagittarius. Lets think back as to where we are headed in that future and where we were. Saturn was last at 9 degrees 47 minutes of Sagittarius on December 20, 2015, think back what you were doing and what you were planning for 2016.

SATURN in SAGITTARIUS is very optimistic, altruistic, honest to a fault, pursues justice, higher  philosophical perspectives, education and relating to exotic and foreign things, persons and travel. Saturn rules the Patriarchy, authority, the old boys network, history. In Sagittarius this is politics.  Expect a total change in the political run for president now over the next few months. Sagittarius reveals the truth. 

JUPITER’s square to  SATURN right now amplifies the more optimistic side and expands Saturn’s usually cynical bitter restricting influence on any sign. This  is positive and pressuring. As Saturn moves slowly backwards it is like going through a wormhole or time tunnel, we get to go back to the past to change the future. 

Saturn Retrograde gives us tine to mature,to work on things. It’s like the necessary time spent to let the dough rise, or setting a bottle of wine away. You cannot rush when something is ready. Use this time wisely to carefully craft your master plan, because all of Saturn’s energy has to do with long term goals, career, commitments, maturity and plans. 

Some commitments may break up now or at least must be reexamined. Honesty is truly the best currency now. 

We will have to go back to the drawing board where all ideas are conceived and nurture tweak and reset them in stone before they can really begin to be birthed next August. 

Saturn in the TAROT is THE DEVIL #15. Ultimately the DEVIL is the material plane. Temptation. EGO. It is ultimately not real. This can be a good time to revisit what your fears are. Are you being governed by your ego? What devils do you project onto others? This is a pretty hot topic now. 

SEVEN TO DO’s while SATURN IS RETROGRADE

1. Revisit all your goals for 2016.

This is important to do now as there are energy shifts coming in the fall. It’s OK to change your plans.

2. Scrap what you are not fully committed to

Only put your energy into long-term goals that you are really into for the long run. Its better to focus on one higher goal.Draw out what your peak looks like, why you want it and what you expect from it.

3. Re-commit your vows, in a relationship or in your career .

This is a good time to remake vows, personal and relationship. Second that emotion. Saturn rules career, redraw a career mandala or where you see yourself in 7, 14 years. 

4. Ask the advise of a mentor or more mature person’s experience. 

This is good to do now. You will be more open to hearing their advice. Also think about your retirement or any long-term distant goals and how to plan for it.

5. Finish up old legal, tax or educational courses. 

Saturn is the tax man, get any old unfinished business done. Immigration, wills or other legal matters of this sort should be finished over the next few months. Finish up the courses already.

6. Honor your father and any male person who helped you

Visit your dad, and honor him whether alive or dead for the karmic lessons he gave you. For some this may be good and for others painful. If there are old childhood wounds this is a good time to let that pain out. Inner child work is very important.  

Tell someone you respect a male teacher, how they helped impact your life It’s important to tell that person how he helped make a difference in your life. Call him, email or meet in person, or send an old-fashioned letter by mail. 

7. Learn to use your time more wisely.

Time is a very precious commodity and it goes faster these days. Manage it wisely.

March 19 GRAND FIRE TRINE LEO MOON trines SATURN in SAGITTARIUS

Things are also doubly inconjunct between the proud Mary Leo moon and Pluto Lord of the underworld.  You know the old saying, don’t let pride come before the fall. 

The drama loving Leo Moon is inconjunct /quincunx {150 degrees } to Chiron, the Lord of Pain and wounds and also where the greatest healing and vulnerability are and the SOUTH  NODE, both at 21+ degrees PISCES.

This aspect is really throbbingly painful now. The collective Unconscious soul wounds of the past, as symbolized by the South node, is a deep karmic scar in the psyche. The  symbol of martyrdom and sacrificial wounding from the Age of Pisces, is hurting terribly. This has so much to do with the rejection of, and the return of the Divine Feminine.

PISCES is ultimately the COSMIC WOMB from which all life on earth and symbolically emanated. The wounds of denying the mother, our earth, the need to love and be loved, the ability to be compassionate; our inherent humanity and oneness, and the sacred life force is showing as projections onto others. This is also literally huge problems with water and the oceans.

THE RITES OF SPRING STRAVINSKY 

 

Equinox Astrology, Ostara, Pagan New year

For the first time in 2016 DAY and NIGHT are equal. This is the first of two balanced “sacred marriage” days in the year.

This event marks SPRING in the NORTHERN HEMISPHERE and AUTUMN in the SOUTHERN. It is a time of perfect equipoise, the balance of the masculine and the feminine energies as a new spark of Life is lit.

March 19 @ 9:30 pm PDT/ March 20 @ 12:30 am EDT/ 4:30 am GMT  

SUN enters zero degrees of Aries and an archetypal new cycle/year begins.  Zero Aries is the beginning of all astrology calculations. It’s International Astrology Day BTW. Aries symbolizes the first spark of LIFE “Let there be light” the Big Bang. Bonfires are lit in celebration. Rituals are created to symbolize rebirth, the sowing of seeds, pregnancy, marriage and joy for a fertile, fruitful New Year of much growth and abundance.

In the NORTH it is a time of REBIRTH.  The time of conception, of the creative spark and the egg, zero/void of all possibility meeting.

ZERO point in the TAROT is connected to the symbol of THE FOOL. Total OPen to new possibilities.

Pagans celebrate this date as the first spoke in the wheel of the year, associated with carnal pleasure, new growth and fertility.  Traditionally associated with Eostre { from which the word estrogen} or ASTARA which means the Stars. Eostre was a Saxon/Germanic Goddess of springs and fertility associated with the Dawn { Venus}, with rabbits or hares, very fertile animals and eggs. Also associated with the Norse Goddess FREYA /Venus/ Venredi in French. The Christians adopted these emblems for Easter which is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the vernal equinox. 

The astrology chart symbolizes the entire year from Spring 2016 until Spring 2017. It is a very important chart to discern. You can also use it to plan the next three months cycle until Solstice.

Overall ,we are swimming in deep waters. Besides indicating a lot of flooding, things are extremely emotional, moody and changeable. There are Six planets including points in PISCES- a mystical, dreamy, creative, spiritual sign. Venus and Neptune, Ceres, Chiron the SOUTH NODE and MERCURY. This augurs for an intensely moody,   spiritual, compassionate, karmic, dreamy, creative journey. We will  be dealing with endings, facing delusions, illusions, our addictions, martyrdom and turning inwards. This is a time of discovering our shadows, the hidden inner realms of the psyche and the shadows of the collective.

The MOON, always symbolizing the Feminine, the moods of the people,the unconscious and emotional needs is in LEO, a fixed fire sign of Royalty and Divine Right. Powerful  passionate feelings will rule. There will be much pride, courage, daring, grandstanding, acting entitled and competition. Moon in Leo needs to be the leader, the center of attention. Mercury the planet of communications is weak in Pisces opposite the sign it rules. Mercury is squaring the GALACTIC CENTER ENCOURAGING US TO SEE THE BIG PICTURE.  We can receive messages from Higher Realms if we meditate and stay open to listening to our Guardian Angels. Our minds are governed by our moods and unconscious. This is a very creative but be careful of being too dreamy and projecting what you want to see onto others. 

VENUS and NEPTUNE are conjoined at 10 degrees OF PISCES, the symbol of the SACRED MARRIAGE.

In the Tarot this is the symbol of Alchemy Tarot Trump #14, echoing the day/night balance. This is an extremely beautiful conjunction. Did you watch the Bachelor on Monday? The feelings when Ben got down on one knee to ask her to marry him and she says yes; that was a VENUS Neptune moment. Neptune is the Higher Octave of Venus and this aspect can take us higher in love than we have ever been before. This is cosmic, unconditional love, charity, benevolence and acceptance of ourselves with the Source. We are both all humans and eternal souls. It is blissful, extremely spiritual and creative. This is Christ Consciousness/oneness guiding us.

This aspect opens increases our intuitive and telepathic senses. Your sleeping dreams and your waking life become seamless. Synchronicities abound. For those who choose the Highest expression fo these two planets it can be an amazingly rewarding experience. But also there are the dangers of denial, illusions, delusions, snake-oil salesmen, addictions, projections, and shadow material being romanticized. This is not an easy territory to navigate.

We are in a tense T-square from JUPITER in VIRGO, to SATURN in SAGITTARIUS to NEPTUNE in PISCES.

WHAT is real and what is an illusion? Telling the truth is what Saturn demands.

Jupiter rules both SAGITTARIUS and PISCES traditionally. Jupiter is the WHEEL OF FORTUNE in the Tarot, the teacher, leader, the optimist, risk-taker, symbolizing faith. Jupiter is conjunct the NORTH NODE pointing us to follow VIRGO energy. We need to be grounded, humble, hard working, practical, on budget, health conscious, disciplined.  We need to honor the Body as the Temple of the Soul, especially if we are going to manifest that Heavenly Venus/ Neptune conjunction.

Virgo is ruled by MERCURY. Jupiter and Mercury are in mutual reception, easily accommodating each other. We need to embody our spirituality in very grounded ways. Our work, our speech our ways of life must reflect this, real/spiritual energy as immanent.

SATURN, LORD of TIME, OBSTACLES, KARMA is at 16+ SAGITTARIUS squares Jupiter and Neptune. Saturn is the bottom line of reality. Saturn’s lessons challenge us to incorporate Virgo discrimination with NEPTUNE in PISCES compassion. Saturn tests and matures us, he is the tax man,the consequences of our actions. PISCES is beautiful but can be a hall of mirrors. Jupiter in VIRGO demands substance; smart, lean, simple and workable. NEPTUNE in PISCES can be escapism, false gurus of every kind. Neptune in Pisces is glamour, Hollywood, fake Reality shows . . The Lord of Time’s presence  in SAGITTARIUS governs politics and he has just crossed the U.S. Ascendant for the first time in 29 years. He uses humor to make his points. I think the joke is at the U.S. expense. It can also mean government crackdowns and limitations on freedom of speech.

Jupiter is Trining Pluto the billionaire’s transit.  The Plutocracy, the 1% gains more and more wealth by the minute and is striving to control the earth. This is also what we must watch out for and make Saturn in Sagittarius laws to limit and control this. On a personal level,trines are considered beneficial, easy aspects. Use it to your advantage if you have earth planets at 15-19 degrees in your natal chart.

URANUS in ARIES @ 19 degrees is square to PLUTO, the last degrees of their square is still in effect. URANUS is inconjunct to JUPITER. With Goddess ATHENA at 19 degrees AQUARIUS they create a YOD or Finger of God to Jupiter. We need to put on our warrioress gear and fight the higher consciousness AQUARIUS battle for the rights of women especially but for all of humanity to be at the table together. Virgo is the harvest and we need to care and account for the earth and the environment, the food supply and be accountable.

LILITH at 22 degrees LIBRA is opposite URANUS in ARIES

There are some strange politics going on. LILITH symbolizes the collective’s shadow of the rejected dark feminine energy who is independent and refuses to compromise. As strange as this may sound, i feel in its twisted, mysogynist, ego-driven, distorted way, a part of Lilith’s energy is coming out through Donald Trump’s mouth. Yes it is in its discrimination of others, Mexicans, Muslims, it is non-descriminated. It is more like the repressed masses unconscious energy. Energy can only be repressed for so long, when it is it comes out in angry, hateful ways. In another way Bernie Sanders is also voicing Lilith’s message by speaking out as an Independent against the powers that be. They are two opposites sides of a similar energy. Like The Fool and the King in the Tarot. The Fool is the divine enlightened One. The King is the power hungry ego.
