Feb. 1st –2nd Traditional Irish and Pagan Holiday CelebrationsTraditionally what we know as Groundhog Day was and is, on Feb 1st or 2nd is celebrated in the Modern Irish Calendar as Saint Brigid’s Day,or Bride’s Day, both a Catholic and Pagan Celebration of an ancient Goddess tradition, also called Imbolc, still celebrated by Wiccans/Pagan based Earth honouring religions. Christians overlaid the Ancient Goddess worshipers’ holiday renaming it Candlemas or the fest of the Purification of the Virgin. This celebration also relates to the midpoint between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox.

It is a “cross-quarter” day in the 8 rounds of the Wheel of Time in the Solar based year. Since the Celtic Year was based on both lunar and solar cycles, it is most likely the holiday would be celebrated on the Full Moon nearest those 2 midpoints, when early spring flowers would begin to rise up through the snow, and snakes would come out of the ground. This is the precursor of the Groundhog, which the Romans replaced with a Hedgehog, which we… On Feb. 2nd this year there is a Full Moon in Leo at 12:45 am EST.
That Ancient peoples of Ireland kept this day as very sacred. At the Megalithic and Neolithic sites, such as the Loughcrew burial mounds and the Mound of the Hostages in Tara, Ireland, the inner chambers of the passage tombs are perfectly aligned with the rising sun of both Imbolc and Samhain attesting to the value placed on this day.

Triple Goddess/Saint Brigid/Bride

She is according to Robert Graves, the most Ancient Triple Goddess worshipped since time out of mind. The Goddess rules over scholars and poets. She is the Goddess of fire and inspirations in Ireland, the Goddess of poetry, creativity, smithcraft and healing. She also rules healing with water, and divination. She is said to rule over people who work with cows and chickens, brewers, fugitives, midwives, infants, printers, sailors, travelers, New Zealand, & Irish nuns. This day symbolizes a time of transitions, initiations, new beginnings, of planting seeds that will sprout later. Brigid/Birgita represents the light half of the year,Her power brings the people out of the dark season of winter into spring, so, it is a very important time of the year.

She is the Goddess of Augury

In the Druidic tradition, poetry and augury were associated. She is patron of prophets and seers.

Celtic seers divined by looking into deep water and into flames. This is a great time to do divination.

Triple Goddess

She has two sisters with the same name. One aspect of her carries a blacksmith tongs and a sword, because she is also patroness of war; another aspect holds 2 healing snakes, from which the modern Doctor’s symbol is derived, the caduceus, the third aspect carries a wand with a crescent moon and a tablet.

Elements

Brigid rules the Waters. Many healing springs are dedicated to Brigid. Natural bodies of water also signify Her presence, particularly where three streams joined together. She also rules Fire, so it is customary to make candles for the coming year and bless them on this day.

Protecting Goddess

In her aspect as Brigantia, she carries a spear, an orb of victory, and wears a war crown. She symbolizes protection of the country from invaders and slavery.

Midwives

As Patroness of Midwives, she was invoked at the door of the home where the woman was giving birth, by the midwife. Who speke:

Bride, Bride, come in! Thy welcome is truly made, Give thou relief to the woman, And give thou the conception to the Trinity.

Brigid is the guardian of every newborn, their cradles protected with a woven Brigit’s Cross, an equal armed cross. Upon a safe delivery, the infant was blessed or “sained” by the midwife, with 3 drops of water on the child’s forehead, dedicating the Child to the Triple Goddess. The “Holy Trinity” in its modernized Christian aspect, was just an overlay of the Goddess Triple Aspect since time out of memory. A candle was carried ‘round the bed sun wise three times. As Brigid is a Solar Goddess. We think of the Sun as masculine but originally all aspects of the Universe were considered Feminine.

Brigid Ruler of the Hearth

Especially in Gaelic Scotland, Brigid’s dolls are placed near the hearth on her Feast Day. The doll is usually dressed in white, decorated. A white wand is placed in her bed as a fertility charm. As she is patroness of agriculture, pastures, livestock, and abundance. An offering is made to her of dairy products. The Brigid doll is kept throughout the year near the hearth hung on a wall, or by a door, as a talisman of protection, then burnt the next year.

Inter-dimensional Vortex Briefly Appears Above Sacramento

Is this real? No injuries were reported from the event. Police are still collecting reports on the phenomena. It’s a projection on a film. 

I find this phenomena totally described by MERCURY in GEMINI on June 18 which is a dualistic sign opposed to Saturn in SAGITTARIUS. Saturn is reality and Sagittarius is our Galaxy.

Spirit of FIRE

The first eclipse of 2017, is in LEO, the sign of courage, passion, leadership, willpower and the HEART. This is not, like that dramatic song, a total eclipse of the heart, but it still packs a powerful activation of our passions. Joseph Campbell’s famous words FOLLOW YOUR BLISS, are our cosmic marching orders. 

This eclipse is ruled by the SUN, our source of light and life. The Sun is associated with GOLD. Leo governs the HEART chakra, the essence of love. The story of King MIDAS is relevant. A greedy king who loves gold more than anything is given a wish to teach him a lesson. He wishes that everything he touches turns to gold. He is happy with this wish at first, but when he touches his daughter and she turns into a golden statue, the king realizes that love not gold is the most more precious of things. After much prayer, the curse/wish is resolved, and all the gold is returned to life by being bathed in a river.  We must decide what is really precious to us, appreciate it, love it and cherish it.  We must have courage to fight and to dare to trust our hearts.

This Eclipsed moon will appear subtly darker as if veiled. It will be difficult to see even in areas where it is most visible.

The eclipse begins on Feb 10 @ 11:22 UT, reaches maximum on the 11^th at 12:43 and ends at 2:53 am.

The areas most affected most powerfully are where the eclipse shadow falls. The path of total visibility extends from North of Hudson’s Bay in Canada through Quebec, the east coast of Canada plus all the eastern seaboard states north of Washington D.C. The total visibility path cuts through Cuba, Venezuela, most of Brazil, all of AFRICA, Europe and the MIDDLE EAST. The path cuts right through IRAN and crosses through most of Russia bisecting it. The eclipse will not be visible at all in Eastern Indonesia. Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

The effects of an eclipse last up to a 6 months before and after the eclipse, as the next eclipse season approaches. Eclipse cycles repeat every 18 years, as part of the Saros families they belong to.

SAROS CYCLE 114.

This eclipse belongs to Saros series 114, which occurred Jan 31st at 11° Leo/ Aquarius. It is a penumbral eclipse and the 59th in the series that began at the North Pole in 0971 and finish in 2233. Penumbral eclipses occur as the series is nearing its end or is at the beginning of its cycle around the globe, which begin at the poles, peak as total eclipses and move north or south, to peter out again, like dragon circling the globe.  There are many eclipse cycles and families circling the globe for vast periods of time, Eclipse families can last for 1000’s of years.

This first Eclipse in this cycle occurred on May 13, 971. This issues that occurred during that year repeat over and over again. The first eclipse coincided with a famous battle in Syria in 971.It marked the first clash between eastern the Christians and the Muslims ending in a Byzantine victory. Syria is still a battleground for these same factions at this 59^th eclipse in the cycle which lasts over 1,200 years in total.

Center yourself by breathing, sit or lie down, close your eyes.

Begin to breathe, naturally and deeply, sending your breath down your spine into your root chakra. With your intention send your breath down your spine into Mother earth to ground yourself. The earth has a flame at her center. Go down and merge with her fire and then breathe it back up through your tail bone, bringing the hot fiery breath up through each chakra one at a time from the root to your HEART CHAKRA. Its associated with dark green, sometimes tinged with pink. Feel your heart expand and feel hotter.

Feel your heart beat and imagine going into your heart entering its walls. It will most likely be dark, and you can state “Let there be light” and watch it light up. See the walls of your hearts inner landscape. Let go of any preconceptions. Allow yourself to be present in your heart scape. Ask yourself which heart chamber you need to visit. Follow your subtle feelings. Touch the walls of your heart, the more fully you sense this the better. Will yourself into one of the chambers in your heart or just stay centered. Feel yourself being one with the drumming of your heart.

Ask to connect with courage, will, creativity and self-expression. Be open. A large cat, black panther, lion or lioness, or other animal may appear. Whatever shows up is fine. An alligator, hippo, a shark, whale, eagle, dolphin, or turtle may become your animal guide. Welcome your power animal. Thank them for appearing. Ask questions or just say I am open to receiving your wisdom, love and protection.  If no animal appears, just stay in your heart and breathe love and feel the love that emanates from your heart. If there are blocks or pain be with them. Call upon Archangel Raphael and CHIRON to help heal your heartache.  If you need to cry, do so, use the pull of the moon to let your feelings out.

Even of you can’t sense anything trust and imagine that you are melding with your animal spirit. Feel every muscle. Revel in your instinctual body strength, wisdom and energy.  You may be given directions.  Vow to follow them, to open your heart, to source your strength.  When you feel fully saturated, thank your power animal and slowly come back to full consciousness and awareness.

At the end of every ceremony thank the spirits and elements for being in your circle. Release each one back to their direction, starting in the East or whichever direction you began with, saying thanks out loud. At the end of the ceremony say, “May the circle be open but unbroken. Thank you. It is finished in beauty. Aho.”

Pluto sextiles Chiron, embrace the wounds

I have come down with a wicked. COld in my nosewgich makes me look like Rudolph The reindeer  right now and in my chest. 

With this planetary aspect I really need to stop and slow down and get myself healthy. 

Health is # one. I have been obsessively working on this blog every night very late for years. I stay up all night and I have no reserves left. 

I’ll keep things simple for a little while here. Ok? I am always concerned about my stats andmaintaining  them  but it’s become an addiction. So very Pisces, 

I just have to switch my schedule I spent most of the day sleeping. I need to be dreaming. 

See if these issues are relevant on your life.  Pluto needs to be on power it is an ego issue when unconscious.

Being vulnerable is how Chiron works. No one is perfect. 

I am also finding the synchronicity levels to be extremely high. So do be aware of this.

Goddess Centered Capricorn New Moon

New Moon in Capricorn 1:53 am EST/ 5:53 am GMT is conjunct Mercury Retrograde and we are rethinking, resting, reflecting, resifting through what happened in 2016. A lot! News that actress and mother of Carrie Fisher who just died yesterday  has also passed on just now is very sad but also is a symbol of he strength of the mother-child bond. 

There’s that powerful cardinal T-square involving Jupiter in Libra, opposed to  Uranus conjunct  Ceres and Eris in Aries, although squaring Pluto in Capricorn, yes the fireworks have just begun.

Mars is conjunct Neptune and South  Node in Pisces impacting our need to let go of old karmic contracts now. 

Saturn the ruling planet of this Capricorn New Moon, which is a Feminine earth sign,  is conjunct Juno in Sagittarius @ 18 degrees Sagittarius.

A feminine genius is being brought into this Dark Moon phase as Saturn and JUNO trine with the AMAZONIAN tribe of  Uranus, Ceres, Eris conjunction.

Saturn sextiles Venus in Aquarius and sextiles Uranus + Ceres + Eris. It’s a good time to innovate.

 Venus trines  Jupiter in Libra 

That’s good for freeing up relationship have to’s and brings chaos into traditional love. Expect the unexpected hearts. 

Vesta, the goddess of focus and dedication to the heart-flame of purpose is in Leo and inconjunct this new moon. The work is on making sure your long term goals are dedicated to their task of guarding the Vestal heart flame. Vesta is investments, not just money to make more money but what are you are invested in in ever aspect? That is the major question. 

Use the three days of new moon to focus on your new beginnings for 2017. Remember that there was a full moon 4 years ago at this same degree in 2012, and 4 years before that.
