For ancient Mesopotamian stargazers, Astronomy and Astrology were the same science originally. These ancient Mesopotamian stargazers kept accurate records of the movements of the Sun, Moon and constellations for 700 years. Studying the stars is the original human longing for meaning in life. It’s spirituality. Astrology is at the root of every human seeking knowledge and understanding and order in the sky and on earth. “As above, so below” the famous Hermetic Maxim from Thoth of Egypt.

From the 8th century to the 1st Century BCE the ancient sky watchers observed the stars every night and kept records to track the constellations and to predict eclipses. That was the longest lasting science project ever we know of so far. There may be others yet undiscovered.

The ancient cuneiform language inscribed on tablets of clay can only be deciphered accurately by very few scholars today. They show the same Constellations that we know of today. The Constellation Orion, Aries, Gemini The Twins, The Big and Little Dipper which they saw as a Wagon and a Wagon of Heaven and the Lion Leo.
