July 14 Gustav Klimt, GOOGLE chooses THE KISS, Astrology of the artist by Tara Greene

If you read my previous article written July 13-14 early am. I wrote GO FOR THE GOLD in it in reference to the Sunspots and I mentioned APOLLO the Sun god.

Next thing I know as I return to GOOGLE up pops golden artist Artist Gustav Klimt, who is being celebrated in Vienna, on GOOGLE and world wide in honor of his 150th Birthday. Famed for gold leaf paintings, The KISS and portrait of Adele Bloch- Bauer,the most expensive painting ever sold, it was bought by cosmetics magnate Ronald Lauder for $137 Million in 2006.

Klimt was an Austrian painter of beautiful decorative and original styled paintings in an art nouveau style. Klimt was a celebrated artist in his short life in Vienna and Europe. Some of his early works were suppressed as being “pornographic.”  He was a prolifically sexual man, fathering 14 children, having many affairs and never marrying.

His works went out of favour in the post- modern age since the 20’s,being seen as derivative, decorative, commercial art, like Top 40 radio tunes.  

His works have become increasingly popular again with the public and art collectors. I started out as an artist, going to a specialized commercial art high school, Georges Vanier Secondary School in Toronto and then attending and graduating  with honors from the Ontario College of Art And Design majoring in Experimental Arts. I remember seeing the beautiful paintings in major art galleries in the 70’s. At that time I thought them to be too pretty and commercial for my taste.

 GOOGLE is honoring Klimt’s 150th birthday anniversary today July 14 so lets look at his Astrology chart.

The planet NEPTUNE is the ruler of  all ARTS as well as VENUS. Klimt was very sexual, and his works very sensuous. Venus loves beauty. This describes a strong PISCES, LIBRA ruled TAURUS energy and of course  Highly sexual SCORPIO, PLUTO or MARS energy.

I don’t have a birth time for Klimt but have arranged the chart to have  a natural Zero degrees ARIES Ascendant.

NEPTUNE Retrograde is conjunct Super sexy MARS, in this chart, on his Ascendant.

The MOON, feelings, the unconscious, the psychic  dream world, the creative influence is indeed PISCES conjunct wounded healer Chiron. In this chart in the 12th house of karma, the Unconscious.

Klimt had PLUTO, ruler of the soul, sex, power, control, in TAURUS, the most sensual, embodied, priapic place for it to be.  PLUTO in TAURUS  1853-1884- Picasso was also one of them.

KLIMT has VENUS ruler of beauty, art, relationships, love affairs all very strong in Klimt’s life in  GEMINI- the sign of non commitment and the easily bored,conjunct the revolutionary planet Uranus. This explains KLIMT’S unconventional and for its time ribald sexuality during the Victorian era.

Klimt also had a SATURN JUPITER Conjunction in Virgo, sign of the meticulous, detail oriented person. Klimt’s paintings are very painstakingly detailed; the application of gold leaf is very delicate and time-consuming. He claimed he was an artist who worked dawn to dusk every day.

The conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn which occurs every 20 years is a hallmark of a person who is hard-working and successful. In Virgo Klimt was a modest person who never painted self-portraits.

And last but not least KLIMT has the SUN= GOLD in Cancer and Mercury too.  As a Cancerian, Klimt was sentimental, a lover of women, home,close to his mother, loved children,a kind man. I don’t know any real personal details about his life,  relationships or the many children he sired.

The chart points up to that VENUS URANUS conjunction which is  a radically different from society, freedom loving man.

Klimt’s North Node,  at 24 degrees of SAGITTARIUS, close to the GALACTIC CENTER, means he is meant to be a visionary, a philosopher, a pursuer of truth, and higher knowledge.  Klimt’s SOUTH NODE at 24 degrees of GEMINI is conjunct Uranus and also the NORTH STAR, Polaris  indicating he was someone who was destined to be a leader, a shining star; someone who instinctively knew to follow his own inner light.  Somewhat like the Symbol  of the HERMIT in the TAROT. The North and South Nodes square that JUPITER SATURN conjunction. He certainly had good karma to work with.

Interesting SYNCHRONICITY that KLIMT’S Venus @15 degrees GEMINI is smack dead on  the VENUS  SUN conjunction transit June 5-6 2012.

This tells me that Klimt’s ce;ebration on GOOGLE is another SIGN that Sun spots,  and Klimt are all heralding the new GOLDEN AGE, never mind the price of gold in the FOREX markets these days. The WOMAN clothed with the SUN, clearly evident in Klimt’s paintings are popular because they unconsciously embody the GOLDEN GODDESS HERSELF, returning.

So thanks GUSTAV for your beautiful sensuous romantic gift of beauty to the world. Everyone becomes uplifted by seeing them.

Everyone wants to be an artist these days.  With NEPTUNE IN PISCES everyone will become even more soulfully creative..  Art takes a lot of time and work, discipline or an uninhibited childlike nature. As a trained artist and one with the SOUTH NODE in VIRGO I am highly critical and I have to say I see a lot of bad art out there from well intentioned folks who think they can instantly be good artists and that whatever comes out of them is “FINE ART.” I respect the idea of self expression but art needs total dedication for it to work. I also adore RAW art.
