May Day BELTANE   MAY 1 Special Prayers for Oil Spill in Gulf of Mexico to bring balance back to Nature

 

May Day celebrates a very ancient Fertility Festival, where the Maiden of Spring and the Lord of the Waxing Year meet in the greening fields to make love on the earth.

This was, and is, a Celebratory participation in the miracle of new life unfolding everywhere.

Each individual felt, feels, that their own individual energy in the Beltane ritual was/is a vital and necessary part to keep the whole of life going, in order to feed the children, to Honor the Goddess and for the next 7 generations.

 

It is a Cross- Quarter Day of the 8 spoked Circle of Life. 

Whatever religion you may be today, all of our ancient ancestors worldwide participated in these ancient rituals, each in their own way. Everyone lived in harmony with the Earth, Mother Nature.  Everyone’s lives depended on the bountiful renewal of the Goddess/ Mother Nature.  They realised that each person is a microcosm or the macrocosm.  The Hermetic Philosophy describes it as “As above, so below” and “as within, so without.”  The cycles of nature, the cosmos and for each living being was the same. All mirrors all. All is One.

The celebration involves fruits, flowers, round breads and cookies which are hung from the trees branches symbolizing future nourishment. A bonfire is built in the direction of the South, as this day represents the Southeast. The May Pole, the phallic pole of fertility is erected and all dance around it in a spiral dance celebrating the natural cycles of Life using brightly coloured ribbons. The God was the Goddess’ consort, honoring her Life giving properties, doing her bidding, loving and supporting her.

Each participant would choose an appropriate colour to match their desires, as they weave in and out, concentrating on weaving what they have chosen in life.  As the circle of ribbons is woven tighter and tighter, the power grows, until it is a wordless Cone of Power. When the cone of power is released coveners may continue dancing.

Lovers leap over the bonfire together, to cleanse their relationship of petty disharmonies. Others may want to be rid of something and cast that away as they leap over the flames disclaiming loudly. Leaping over the bonfire is an act of purification and brings luck and blessings. 

Lovers would go off together, often choosing a new partner to lie in the freshly ploughed fields to make love all night long, offering their love making in celebration of Life and the Mother and her consort whose Divine Lovemaking creates the renewed life cycle so that all may live and flourish.   In the musical Camelot Genevieve sings a song dedicated to Beltane.

IN THE PRESENT

This May 1^st 2010 sees the terrible oil spill created by BP the British Petroleum Company from offshore oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico which is creating a terrible natural disaster for all the Life forms living in the waters and on the shores around Louisiana and other Gulf Coast states.

They say it may be worse than the Exxon Valdez oil spill.

So on this May Day, whether you have a May Pole or not,

Do send many many prayers to the fishes and birds, and all the Bayou creatures and the people whose lives may be severely threatened or destroyed because of this disastrous and dishonourable event. Light a small fire if you can’t manage a bonfire and cast away all the negativities from those at the top down who have been involved in creating this eco-disaster. This includes each and everyone of us.

Topple the May POLE

In this particular case, my intuition says that the May Pole should be toppled as it represents BP and al the oil hungry machinations of a cultural gone totally mad with its’ raping and taking of whatever the ego wants.  Our modern masculine May Pole is all about power over, greed, insanity, It’s a Masculine ego run riot and totally out of balance with the Feminine, with Nature, with the Goddess.. This Masculine madness is suicidal. It cannot continue, we see it is destroying, like cancer, ourselves and all the life forms it touches. Destroying al of Mother Nature’s beauty. It is a sado-masochistic Male role model.

Mother Nature works in balance but if the Corporations are allowed to continue their destruction, to rape her and pillage her resources without any sense of responsibility.

 Then we are all very surely doomed.

I pray to the Goddess to Mother Nature, to be strong, resilient. We are only her very little tiny children on this earth. We are acting like lice itching at her these days.

We must all act and DO something positive.

ASTROLOGY REVOLUTION COMIN” RIGHT UP!

This is a huge signal that an entire new beginning is about to occur in the World’s ages. Aries symbolizes new life; it is Male, the God of War. Uranus revolutionizes the old. This demarks the new beginning. Will we make it?

SATURN TURNS DIRECT May 30^th

Since the last five months Saturn has been rubbing out noses in Virgo, as the cosmic cop Saturn in Virgo is all about cleaning up the Earth. Changing health care, that happened. Being stewards of the Earth.

NEPTUNE GOES RETROGRADE May 31^st.

June 6^th Jupiter has been speeding along through Pisces he jumps starts into Aries, but won’t stay there long; It’s a preview, but Jupiter sure will amp up Uranus’s effects while he conjoins the planet of sudden change and Revolution.

SATURN RE-ENTERS LIBRA JULY 21

Saturn, the Lord of Karma, testing, obstacles, limitations travels through Libra, the Air sign it rules from October 29, 2009 to April 7, 2010, Saturn Retrogrades back into Virgo for a final clean up act, turning Direct May 30 and then return to Libra from July 21 2010 till October 5, 2012. Very close to the “end date” of Dec 21 2012. 

Saturn will be in the early degrees of Scorpio on Dec 21 2012.

 Chiron, known as The Wounded Healer, entered Pisces on April 19^th,

On July 21^st Chiron, leaves Pisces to backtrack into Aquarius where he spent approximately 7 years changing the way we relate and socialize with new technologies- I phones, Facebook, Twitter etc.
