Where the Wild Things Are,Maurice Sendak R.I.P. Astrology of artist/writer’s life by Tara greene
I felt sad to hear that famed children’s author and illustrator Maurice Sendak passed away May 8 at the not too shabby age of 83.
Most famous for writing and illustrating Where the Wild Things Are in 1963, the book was a modern classic turning the tables from “nice, safe, Disney-fied, squeaky clean, pabulum type of sugar-coated kids Lit. A movie based on W.T. W. T. A. was released in 2009.
He authored 22 books, and illustrated almost a hundred books.
His other most infamous book is In the Night Kitchen first published in 1970. It was heavily censored for the drawings of a young naked boy running through the pages of the book.
Sendak was born of Polish Jewish immigrants and he described his childhood as “terrible” because all of his extended family had been killed in The Holocaust. He loved to read as a child then became inspired to draw after seeing Walt Disney’s Fantasia as a child. He was one of the early National Board of Advisers for Sesame Street. He produced animated TV productions, and collaborated with other playwrights and had recent successes in the past 10 years.
His personal Gods are Herman Melville creator of Moby Dick, Emily Dickinson and Mozart. Sendak was quoted as saying ” If there’s a purpose for life, it was for me to hear Mozart.”

I remember reading it over and over to my son Elijah when he was a little boy,I loved reading to him, and it was one of his favourite stories. The story is about a young boy who proudly goes off to have adventures in his room because he is being punished and given a time out,with no dinner, by his mother for acting out.
The boy becomes King of the Wild Things, monsters on an island, but then gets lonely and tired of being King and comes back after “a year and a day” to his room, where he finds his mother has left him his dinner, “and it was still warm.”
So lets find out who Maurice Sendak was. A Gemini, born June 10 1928 in Brooklyn New York.I have no exact birth time so have set up his chart on a “natural house” system with Zero degrees Aries as the Ascendant.
A Gemini born with Venus conjunct the Sun. Venus is the Goddess of Art, and the North Node is also conjunct to Venus at 9 degrees of Gemini. Maurice’s highest spiritual goal was to communicate, that’s GEMINI. Gemini is the ever youthful, Peter Pan, puer archetype who never wants to grow up, who lives in Never Never land or any imaginative fantasy.
Gemini is ruled by Mercury the Messenger of the Gods, the sign rules all forms of communications and writing. Mercury also rules Virgo, and Sendak had his natal JUNO- symbol looks like a magic wand, some say a toilet brush, tsk tsk. JUNO is an Asteroid Goddess, and her name symbolizes a specific FEMININE form of genius, which connotes the masculine form of said genius.
Mercury the ruler of Gemini is in Cancer,conjunct to Pluto Lord of the Underworld.
Another famed children’s book illustrator Art Spiegelman, interviewed and illustrated Sendak for a New Yorker article from 1993. In this article Sendak stated that
“CHILDHOOD is CANNIBALS and PSYCHOTICS vomiting in your mouth.”
A pretty heavy but totally bang on illustration of someone born with Mercury in Cancer, the sign of the mother, nurturing, food, receptivity, and Pluto the shadows, the death eaters, the power and control secret freaks. Dead on. Mortifying.
Sendak’s Moon was in very dreamy,imaginative Pisces, planet of all creators, chameleons,boundless. If this chart is correct then the Moon is in the 12th house, where Pisces naturally is, and shows how much of the family secrets, the Holocaust. Sendak was writing about and through in his works.
He was born with Neptune in a wide opposition to the Moon in Leo, sign of fame, leadership. Moon in Pisces is soft, feminine, vulnerable, compassionate, spirital, can be addictive type of personality. The Moon is also opposite JUNO, the genius in hard-working exacting, perfectionist, down to earth, analytical, world- server sign of Virgo. An exacting artist writer and illustrator, Sendak produced a huge body of work over his lifetime.
Leo is the sign of the child, role-playing, acting. Sendak was the King, staunch defender and champion of Youth, especially strong-willed children, who would not bow down to authoritarian parents’ wills, for which he was both { GEMINI} applauded and maligned for.
Born with Uranus in early Aries in square to Mercury, giving him a revolutionary fighting energy in communications.
He has Mars, Aries ruler at 18 degrees in square to Pluto, Sendak must have been a very energetic person. Very powerful, a naturally aggressive person.Who would speak his mind.
in Jan of 2012 Sendak was interviewd on The Colbert report calling Colbert and idiot and tearing into Newt Gingrich saying: “ But Newt Gingrich is an idiot. … There is something so hopelessly gross and vile about him that it’s hard to take him seriously. So let’s not take him seriously.”

Born with Jupiter and Chiron in Taurus this made him sensual, direct, probably a simple man in some ways, never far from his roots, strong, stubborn, a good earner, appreciates Art, Jupiter expands whatever sign its’ in. Venus rules Taurus so again we’re back to Venus patroness of the arts in child-like Gemini, the sign of the twin soul.
Last but not least SATURN, representing the father, is opposite Venus, Sendak’s Sun and his north node, at 15 degrees of Sagittarius Retrograde.
Sendak said his dad was one of his early inspirations for writing children’s books. Saturn Retrograde is a karmic signature. Not shown on the chart is Sendak’s South Node, his past at 9 degrees of Sagittarius conjunct Saturn. 9 degrees of Sagittarius in Tropical Western Astrology is exactly on the Fixed Star Antares, in the Sidereal constellation of Scorpio, whose name means rival of Mars because of its huge size and red color,and also denotes the Angel Uriel.
I’d say that Sendak was a great military warrior in a past life, who may have misused power { SCORPIO} who came into this life to repay a debt to the world by following his North Node conjunct to Venus,by being an artist warrior and communicator brandishing his pen and ink in defense of the innocent child, who couldn’t speak up and defend himself as much before Sendak came along to initiate and liberate the rights of the child to express his or her power, will and that which grown ups have banished to their own unconscious state, the freedom of self-expression so that the child can express all their feelings fully, safely.
The planet Uranus is exactly where it was when Sendak was born. He was experiencing his Uranus return and he left this world quickly, a Uranus energy from a heart attack. Chiron, the Wounded healer is exactly at 9 degrees of Pisces in exact square to Sendak’s North and South nodes. Mars is also directly opposite Sendak’s Moon and in square aspect to his Nodes. Pluto Lord of death is also opposite to Sendak’s Mercury in Cancer. All of these planets show fateful indications.
Sendak left a great legacy. Children will continue to read identify with and appreciate Sendak’s Where the Wild Things are and many of his other books for always.

P.S. Sendak was gay, and lived with his partner, psychoanalysts Dr. Eugene Glynn for over 50 years till his death in 2007. He never told his parents. Sendak said “All I wanted was to be straight so my parents could be happy. They never, never, never knew.”He didn’t want to upset them. There is certainly many what I would call hermaphroditic influences in his natal chart, Gemini, Venus, Saturn opposition, lots of Cancer Mother, moon in Pisces feminine energy.Pluto in Cancer, family skeletons, secrets. I journeyed to the magical red rock vortexes of Sedona Arizona along with many hundreds of other spritual seekers and other tourists who just happened to be here fot the event.

It snowed the day before, and I heard the road up to Flagstaff was closed done. The 13 crystal skulls from Mayan legend, or facsimiles were brought to Sedona on the 7th and there were supposed to be ceremonies and 400 peopple showed up. But I heard that no ceremonies occurred. Drunvalo Melchizadek was on hand though.

11:11:11 goings on in Sedona
OUr 11:11:11 ceremony was on Shnebley Road, by the area called cow pies. We created a tree of Life. set alcohol on each Sephiroth to make elixers with after. Did prayers. Circumnabulated the Tree 33 times in Total, Prayed in Hebrew, English, Sanskrit Sang, danced, It was joyfull. A couple was getting married off in the distance.
Spirit flattens me but angels save me
Our 2nd cermeony of the day occurred in Fay Canyon off of Boynton canyon. There is an arch or cave up a pretty steep climb. Some women came by to our ceremony where there was a natural mesa, we used herkimmer diamond crystals, and charged more alcohol for elixiers. Apparently this cave has Arcturian enegies. I had brought my Medicine Pipe and did an Native American Ceremony and prayers off to the side. After my cermeony as I was getting ready to walk down from the cave I suddenly fell, it was so fast, I landed flat on my face. I couldnt believe it, There I was face down eating that famous red rock dust and praying that my teo front teeth didnt get knocked out. And of course i am wondering what the heck was that? I had broked my fall with my hand and there was a little bleeding and I had a fat lip but seemed miraculously to be relatively unharmed. I was helped down by a nice man with climbing poles. I realized afterwards just how lucky I was and truly felt protected by the many many angels that are all around me now.
The woman who found the Holy Grail
Part 3 of my 11:11:11 involved a woman who had come to speak with my freind Jospeh MArk about his Kabbalistic and esoteric knowledge, We went to his freinds house and waited for peopple to show up for a talk he had intended to give. This lady claimed she had actually found the Holy Grail in Wales, it was an olive wood cup, traditionally used for wine in Sabbath ceremonies. She said it had been kept secret but that the crown of England had extensive documentation in secret of the healings that had been associated with people who touched it or who drank water form it. As hse told her story I could see and feel the energy as she told us about the miracle of the ever replenishing waters and how drinking from the Holy Grail made her a total lover and knower that there is only One Unity,no duality.
Well that is what the 11:11:11 energies are all about
She gave me a hug and I felt that christ like energy of enlightenment, divine love and acceptance come through her. It was excilerating.

I go to have a special treatment on a chakra lazer bed. This is form the John of God healing center I believe. I had tried this treatment a few days ago and liked it. I immediately saw visions of the Goddess Isis as I lay on the bed.
This time I needed more time and was given an hour but was going so deep I asked for more time. I spent one and a half hours on that bed. It opens one;s chakra’s. Answers your intentions, I was given some specificinformtion.
Following a flyer we found at the Health Food Store,later we ended up at the Sedona High School where there was a special performance of dancing drumming and a Meditation Teacher who we didnt know anything about.
The teacher is a Korean breath teacher Ilchi Lee, a famous Dahn yoga instructir who has livedin Sedona for 15 years. He showed this amazing video which showed the benefits of breathing techniques. There were 3 big busloads of Korean tourists i think who drove in to watch this famous unbeknownst to us, cultish leader, he was fun.
One ting after another, people would show up to lead me or to absolutely synchronize into the flow of the ocnversation.

This is the Astrology chart of the United States born on July 4, 1776 at 5:10 pm Philadelphia commonly known as the Sibley Chart. There is much debate over which exact time the Declaration of Independence was signed but this is the chart most used. The Ascendant or persona or mask of Uncle Sam is at 12 degrees + of Sagittarius, the Centaur of the Zodiac known for truth, Justice, foreigners, travelling, law, philosophy,humour,animals,expansion, inspiration, boundless optimism,doing things BIG. Sounds like the good old U.S. and A?
U.S. is a Cancerian Sun of course! Should be AUNT SAMANTHA not Uncle Sam!
We all know at heart Americas was Born on July 4 making Her a Cancer, all Mom and Apple Pie of course, homeland security is the perfect translation of Sun in Cancer.

The U.S. is always the center stage where the U.S. will show its courage or its vanity, power-over or power with, and too much pride which always precedes its’ fall..
That Key like symbol is called Chiron the Wounded Healer,also a Centaur in classical greek mythology, never mind that the Greek economy has now cacked out, its Mythology is still ever powerful in its’ Archetypal meaning. Chiron, discovered Nov. 1, 1977 is a powerful point indicating where the greatest wounding and also the greatest healing are marked. At 20 degrees of Aries Chiron is a main focal point as it is opposite Saturn -see red lines-and in a square aspect of 90 degrees {L} or so to the Sun, Mercury and to Pluto as well.
Chiron also squares the Vertex at 26 degrees of cancer. The Vertex is a “karmic point” an intake of crucial significance in connecting with other. Note that PLuto is opposite this Vertex point as well. the only other main Squares in the U.S. chart are from Mars in Square aspect to Neptune. Squares are pressures, they make things happen, they are tense. Mars in Gemini in the 7th house square to Neptune in Virgo in the 9th, means {Gemini like} Peter Pan, peur, instant gratification, immaturity, divided attentions,split personalities, indecisive, dual natured actions and desires, doubly macho, warlike and all that energy is applying aggressively to an earthy hard-working self-critical, diligent, prudent,conservative, work ethic {Virgo} infused with a highly evolved {9th house} Neptunian escapist unrealistic addiction. One more thing the U.S. Moon is flanked by two Asteroids named for Greek goddesses. Athena is at 26 degrees of Aquarius a degree away from the moon. She is the patriarchal Goddess representing the transition from Matriarchy to Patriarchy as she is born from Zeus head fully armed. She is a war strategist, she wears an owl on her shoulder. The city of Athens is named in her honour and the Parthenon her main temple. The sickle-like symbol to the other side of the crescent moon is the asteroid Ceres at 8 degrees of Pisces but close enough to be considered conjunct the Moon. She is Ceres to the Romans and Demeter to the Greeks. Ceres is the great mother of the earth Herself, Mother Nature,or Gaia we would popularly call her. This gives the U.S. Moon a very interesting Strong Matriarchal focus, but one that has not been fully realized yet.
nOW LETS GET TO AUG 2 2011 ALREADY. WHAT’S IT LOOK LIKE?
The outer planets in green ringing the natal wheel are the planets today Aug 2 2011.
The U.S. has held debt for many many years. On Oct 1, 1917 during the first World War, the first effective debt ceiling was created,called The second Liberty Loan Act. On this date, just after a full moon, the Sun and Moon were squaring Pluto which was conjunct the South Node at 5 degrees of Cancer,and the Sun and Moon were also squaring the North Node at 5 degrees of Capricorn. That lunation was mid-way between an eclipse as well,as eclipses can only occur when the sun nd moon are aligned with the nodes.
And where is Pluto now? at 5 degrees of Capricorn, exactly Dead on where the North Node was on Oct 1, 1917. The Nodes and Pluto are interconnected in Evolutionary Astrology as they symbolize the soul’s growth. Pluto {death and rebirth, secrets, power and control issues} also opposes Natal Jupiter at 5 degrees of Cancer exactly now Jupiter is always associated with expansion and wealth and with Venus ruler of money as well.
Pluto is exactly opposite to where it was when this first debt crisis was created. So half way in the entire cycle.
THE U>S> SATURN RETURN, the Return of Satan, U.S. behind the 8 ball 
Saturn that ole’ devil is returning once again for the 8th time to the place it was when the U.S. was born. The U.S. has just had its’ 235th birthday. more about that soon.
Have you turned 28 or 29/30 ? 56 -60? 84-90? congratulations! Then you have lived through one, two and three Saturn returns yourself. Saturn is the great TESTER, the challenger, makes you jump through the hoops. Saturn is time, the old boys system. Corporate structure, senility, seniority, maturity.
The U.S. is now getting it’s 8th of such Saturn returns. 8 itself is the symbol of infinity, I know 8 is considered lucky for finances in China. Since China holds most of the U.S. debt they dont want the U.S. to default, or do they? 8 is karma, what you put out is what you get back and in the simplest of terms, if you overspend the piper must be paid sooner of later. As Saturn is connected traditionally to the Devil,and those Tea Partiers are sure acting like devils accusing Obama or every sort of heinous crime.
is the U.S. SELLING ITS’ SOUL to the devil now? Who is plea bargaining? Just who are the terrorists these days? V.P. Biden referring to those ultra right-wing Tea partiers as terrorists is one way of calling a spade a spade, no puns intended or racial slurs at all.
July 1, 2011 the Cancer Solar eclipse falls at 3 degrees from the U.S. Sun and right on Canada’s Sun.
Eclipse are always strong portends of change. That eclipse has the Sun and the Moon on the U.S. Sun. The feelings of the People as symbolized by the Moon eclipsing the Sun, the Light shows the state {the Sun} being changed by the popular feelings of the People.
The bad news is the cuts! Usually all the good friendly public welfare stuff gets cut. the stuff that benefits the children the poor the elderly.
The Leo New Moon of July 30th just saw Venus at 2 degrees of Leo conjunct to the Sun and Moon at 7 degrees of Leo. And Venus is in a square aspect to Jupiter at 8 degrees of Taurus. Jupiter in Taurus is earthy, sensuous, will never go on a diet! Jupiter is also in a positive Trine aspect to Retrograde Pluto right now. So Venus Jupiter and Pluto are aligning in a Grand trine now, a very positive optimistic expansive energy although one where the corporate structure is being overhauled. This is the first new moon since the Eclipse so it brings in new fresh energies.
GOING FOR THE OBAMA DRAMA ARE WE?
The U.S. North Node is at 6 degrees of Leo. So this is promising as Venus in Leo is largesse, queenly, dramatic! going right to the 11th hour are we just for the stage presence.
Let’s remember that Obama is a Leo after all. and more about the President’s 50th birthday is well, That’s why it’s hurting him so much. He is experiencing his Chiron return!

Dont take it personally. Everyone during their 50th year gets to experience their Chiron return. Chiron takes 5o0 years to make one complete round. If you live to be 100 you’ll get 2 of them. It hurts, it is a healing crisis. Mr Obama is feeling ultra vulnerable and those Tea Partiers keep sticking their fingers into the wounds. Not al of this mess he created, he stepped into this mess lets remember.
But still the Wall Street crooks are still free and laughing all the way to their personal Ferrari’s and bank vaults. Goldman Sachs, the lawmakers, the shyster, the wheeler dealers for the banks,the credit card companies are all in cahoots ,are all culpable. The Federal Reserve, the lobbyists etc etc etc. are to blame for this mess. Who’s going to pay? That’s right. the little guy, the poor, the powerless, the young. Not the corporations, the banks, the car companies, the wealthy.
One more thing MERCURY is going RETROGRADE Aug 2.
Why is it dragging out to the last minutes? As Mercury turns retrograde he slows down. Going Retrogarde at Zero degrees of Virgo, that’s OK for the U.S. it is in harmony with the U.S. think outside the box ways. Mercury is also directly opposite Neptune also moving Retrograde at Zero degrees of Pisces. Mercury will be retrograde from Aug 2 -26 but wont go back to Zero degrees of Virgo again where it turned Retrograde at, till Sept 9, 2011.
Note the Big RED X marks the Spot in the U.S. chart. 
The crux or cross or red X in the chart indicates, too much rashness Chiron at 20 degrees of Aries opposite Saturn in Libra in the 10th house can be a fall from the world’s stage, as squared by Pluto at 27 degrees of Capricorn Rx opposite the Vertex and Part of Fortune at 26 degrees of cancer. The Part of fortune is the pot of Gold in the chart. This point to certain transits Saturn will be at 20 degrees of Libra opposite Chiron in mid-October of 2011, this can indicate further stress woes and trouble. Saturn will also be at 27 degrees of Libra squaring its natal Pluto and Squaring that PART OF FORTUNE/ VERTEX point around the same time. These are all super hot spots in the chart.
MARS RETROGRADE In the U.S. Progressed Astrology chart for the next 80 years!!!!

I think the eclipses are more powerfully related to earthquakes, tsunamis etc. as potential power triggers. WATER, major issue as CHIRON Re-ENTERS PISCES again FEB 8 12:10 PM PST for 7 YEARS!!!!
This is a long-term major cycle. Chiron briefly touched his toe into Oceanic Pisces April 19- July 20 in 2010. The first day of Chiron in Pisces the Deep water HORIZON BP OIL rig blew and spilled unknown tons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico creating one of the worst eco-disasters ever. So expect more of the same as Chiron is the Wounded Healer, in Pisces he will stick his finger symbolically in wherever we are wounded, vulnerable, sore, covering up, in denial of. We are 70-% water. So is the earth.
We need to drink many litres of pure quality life renewing litres of water each day to stay alive. It is the 2nd most important life-giving nutrient after air. Water resources will be a major scarcity issue. The oceans, purifying sea water, energy from the oceans, new life forms, who owns what around water. Dying oceanic life forms as well, no more fish left in the seas, whales doplohins, extinctions. Not good for us humans at all.
PISCES is also the sign of religion,spirituality the arts,
OLD fashioned religion is on its way out. Despite religious fundamentalists, fanatics the old religious games are ending. Teh Church will lose its power, more and more people are cecoming pagan, discovering yoga, other forms of imminent religous experiences,not authoritative religions. Did I mention Pisces rules drugs? Art will become more of a spiritual vehicle. Colours will be softer greens and blues, more subtle, sensitive. Neptune rules Pisces and it in turn rules OIL, It is the end of OIL as Pisces is the last of the signs. We are reaching the end of an era on oil dependence over the next 7 years. Pisces is also escapism, Hollywood, film and photography, addictions, viruses, ashrams, karma. Chiron also known, as Soul tenderizer will stick it to each and every one of us dealing with our own karmic issues, our addictions, our martyrdom, and our victim hood.
Hollywood itself will go through another upheaval in entertainment, direct mind to mind entertainment, dream recall. Inception is the prophetic film released with Chiron in Pisces. The danger is mass escapism into mindless drugging, as the consciousness gets higher and more refined and a lot of “Sheeple” are afraid.

Imbolc,Candlemas,St. Brigid’s Day,Groundhog Day Feb 1-2 Tara Greene rituals
Feb. 1st –2nd IMBOLC Traditional Irish and Pagan Holiday Celebrations
Traditionally what we modern Westerners know as Groundhog Day was and is, on Feb 1st or 2nd is celebrated in the Modern Irish Calendar as Saint Brigid’s Day,or Bride’s Day. Both a Catholic and an ancient Pagan Celebration,an ancient Goddess tradition, also called Imbolc, still celebrated by Wiccans/Pagan based Earth honouring religions. Christians overlaid the Ancient Goddess worshipers’ holiday renaming it Candlemas or the fest of the Purification of the Virgin. This celebration also relates to the midpoint between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox.
It is a “cross-quarter” day in the 8 rounds of the Wheel of Time in the Solar based year. Since the Celtic Year was based on both lunar and solar cycles, it is most likely the holiday would be celebrated on the Full Moon nearest those 2 midpoints, when early spring flowers would begin to rise up through the snow, and snakes would come out of the ground. This is the precursor of the Groundhog, which the Romans replaced with a Hedgehog, which we… On Feb. 2nd this year there is a NEW MOON IN AQUARIUS at 12:45 am EST.
That Ancient peoples of Ireland kept this day as very sacred. At the Megalithic and Neolithic sites, such as the Loughcrew burial mounds and the Mound of the Hostages in Tara, Ireland, the inner chambers of the passage tombs are perfectly aligned with the rising sun of both Imbolc and Samhain attesting to the value placed on this day.
Triple Goddess/Saint Brigid/Bride
She is according to Robert Graves, the most Ancient Triple Goddess worshipped since time out of mind. The Goddess rules over scholars and poets. She is the Goddess of fire and inspirations in Ireland, the Goddess of poetry, creativity, smithcraft and healing. She also rules healing with water, and divination. She is said to rule over people who work with cows and chickens, brewers, fugitives, midwives, infants, printers, sailors, travelers, New Zealand, & Irish nuns. This day symbolizes a time of transitions, initiations, new beginnings, of planting seeds that will sprout later. Brigid/Birgita represents the light half of the year,Her power brings the people out of the dark season of winter into spring, so, it is a very important time of the year.
She is the Goddess of Augury
In the Druidic tradition, poetry and augury were associated. She is patron of prophets and seers.
Celtic seers divined by looking into deep water and into flames. This is a great time to do divination. STare at a candle, a fireplace with conscious intention. Call upon Brigid to come to you.
Triple Goddess
She has two sisters with the same name. One aspect of her carries a blacksmith tongs and a sword, because she is also patroness of war; another aspect holds 2 healing snakes, from which the modern Doctor’s symbol is derived, the caduceus, the third aspect carries a wand with a crescent moon and a tablet.
Elements
Brigid rules the Waters. Many healing springs are dedicated to Brigid. Natural bodies of water also signify Her presence, particularly where three streams joined together. She also rules Fire, so it is customary to make candles for the coming year and bless them on this day.
Protecting Goddess
In her aspect as Brigantia, she carries a spear, an orb of victory, and wears a war crown. She symbolizes protection of the country from invaders and slavery.
Midwives
As Patroness of Midwives, she was invoked at the door of the home where the woman was giving birth, by the midwife. Who speke:
Bride, Bride, come in! Thy welcome is truly made, Give thou relief to the woman, And give thou the conception to the Trinity.
Brigid is the guardian of every newborn, their cradles protected with a woven Brigit’s Cross, an equal armed cross. Upon a safe delivery, the infant was blessed or “sained” by the midwife, with 3 drops of water on the child’s forehead, dedicating the Child to the Triple Goddess. The “Holy Trinity” in its modernized Christian aspect, was just an overlay of the Goddess Triple Aspect since time out of memory. A candle was carried ‘round the bed sun wise three times. As Brigid is a Solar Goddess. We think of the Sun as masculine but originally all aspects of the Universe were considered Feminine.
Brigid Ruler of the Hearth
Especially in Gaelic Scotland, Brigid’s dolls are placed near the hearth on her Feast Day. The doll is usually dressed in white, decorated. A white wand is placed in her bed as a fertility charm. As she is patroness of agriculture, pastures, livestock, and abundance. An offering is made to her of dairy products. The Brigid doll is kept throughout the year near the hearth hung on a wall, or by a door, as a talisman of protection, then burnt the next year.

One folk tradition still continues in both Christian and Pagan homes on St. Brigid’s Day is that of St. Brigid’s Bed. Girls and young unmarried women create corn dollies to represent Brigid, these are adorned with ribbons, baubles shells or stones. A bed is made for the doll to lie in. On St. Brigid’s Eve Jan 31, the girls gather together in one house and stay up all night with the doll, are are later visited by all the young men, who ask permission to enter the home, and then treat the young maidens and the dolly with respect. The next day the girls carry the doll through the neighbourhood from house to house, where she is welcomed with great honour. Adult women stay home to welcome the Brigid procession and offer snacks and coins to the young girls and maidens.
Brigid is said to walk the earth on Imbolc eve. Feb 1st. Before going to bed, each member of the household may leave a piece of clothing or strip of fabric outside for Brigid to bless. The cloth are brought inside the next morning, believed to now have the powers of healing and protection.
BRIGID is alive and well.
The name “Britain” is a derivation of Brigit’s name. Britain was named for an ancient Celtic tribe, the Brigantes, who were the largest Celtic tribe in the country in pre-Roman times who worshipped Her as their Deity. The tribe originated from an area now called Bregenz in Austria near Lake Constance. The word “brigand” comes from this tribe of fierce warriors. Her symbol is a flaming spear. Her worship spread, leaving behind places named in Her honour-Brittany in France, Brechin in Scotland, the name Brent, in England, any name containing Bride. Britain’s symbol, the Goddess Brigantia, still found on their 50 cent coin is Brigid in her aspect as Goddess of the Land. In Old German/Yiddish the word “Fabrent” meaning burnt honours this Ancient Goddess. Of course Britany Spears is carrying the modern archetype of Brigid, and strangely enough one of Brigid’s symbols is a flaming spear!

Pets, always popular. Cat-o’ tonic. This beautiful cat appeared on our front lawn when he was a kitten, July 4, 2010. My daughter named him Prince. He smells like olives. I’ve had many a cat in my day but never found one that smelled of olives before. Someone thought he smelled like pizza. Something about this guy opens my heart. We have telepathic heart to heart transmisssions when he sits on my lap. He is very tender, a “licky” cat.
I have always wanted a Persian carpet. When in Istambul Turkey years ago I went to a real Persian carpet factory. I loved them. I put down a deposit but my parents were too cheap and too paranoid to trust that you could buy an authentic persian carpet and have it arrive in canada. So they had me ask for my money back much to my dismay. I did get the dollars back. Many years later still wanted a Persian carpet. I always imagined real flying carpets, the magic carpet ride.
As is often the case in my life, whilst on a totally other errand, I happen to stumble upon… an oriental rug store which was having a 75% off real sale. We fell in love with this one the cat is lying on. I am trying to validate its worth. We love it. It has very trippy kinda looks like a repeated pattern of a blue submarine. Look towards the cat’s tail for this detail.
The carpet is a wool hand knotted from Mashad Iran carpet. 10 x 6 ft 7 ” It’s age? 10-30 years? Has some irregularities, pile is a bit uneven, one part of outside border was cut in the weaving. Anyone know anything about these types of carpets?
MERCURY RETROGRADE TIME AGAIN -DEC 10-30
I PREDICT lots of returns on an Xmas Holiday Retro. A sentimental old fashioned Xmas. Mercury started out at 5 degrees of Capricorn and will end at 19 degrees of Sagittairus. Will take till Jan 18 for Mercury to get back to Retro turning point again. Lots or re-visions to new Years resolutions.

Neptune was discovered on Sept 23, 1846, Neptune takes 165 years to make one complete revolution around the Sun to celebrate 1 birthday. It breaks down into four approximately 41 year quarters. 1887, 1928-1929, 1969 and now 2010-1011. Do these dates stand out? In 1887- severe winter, anarchist riots in Chicago. 1928-29 is the Great Depression, Stock Market crash. 1969 is of course the Hippie, Woodstock, Peace and Love,free love sex, revolution.
In 2010 Neptune returned to its’ discovery position 26 degrees of Aquarius which is where it is right now! In 1847 Neptune entered Pisces which is where it is “at home” in the sign it rules over.

Mood: dreamy, foggy, boundaryless, peacfull, all loving, forgiving, expect times of much crying and releasing, blissed out, free love, addictive, creative, boundless.
Yes this is just an inkling of the tribal new age mindset that’s comin down the pipes folks big time. All those hippies who were born and seeded in mid-late 60′s are gonna have to wake up themselves a nd re-evaluate what success in the world means. The revolution begins soon. “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”
